Did my ADRs this morning!!!! Got everything I wanted but most importantly got my birthday dinner at BOG. !!!!

Woohoo!! More surprise trips!! We're also telling our daughter Christmas morning!!

I am doing a surprise trip, too. It will be a girl only trip (just me and her), a final trip before she become a Disney Adult. DD9 will find out on Christmas, too. She will get her magic band and a t-shirt (has the 4 icons and says "Follow Me Home") for her large last gift. SOOOO hard to keep the secret!

Yay! That's a great way to do it!!! We aren't sure on the exact way to tell them-we're thinking a scavenger hunt! It is so hard to keep the secret!!

We added a day on to the beginning of our trip so we will be arriving on the 16th instead and staying at AKV for one night then on to BWV for the rest of the trip. Made my ADRs a few weeks ago and got everything I wanted. Looking forward to Sanna and Boma as this will be our first time at AKL and only one night to enjoy it.

Still uneasy about AK planning. I have one night planned there hoping for the hours to be extended and for ROL to be open by then.

was able to book Fantasmic! dining package today for a date at the end of january. (This despite no update to the times/shows calendar). I'm pretty sure that when i was making the reservations at my 180 day mark, the F! packages were not available.

Animal Kingdom is amazing!! We have stayed there the last 2 times. We switched to Poly for something new but have had to stay strong to not switch back to AKL!!

Sorry to add right after you updated, but I just found the thread!

Our family of four (me, DW, DS11, DD7) will be at POFQ from 1/15-1/22 for our second January visit. We were there last Jan for a week and ended up staying a bit longer due to the big blizzard in WV that dumped over 40" of snow. We were driving and knew we couldn't get home, so why not stay longer at WDW??

We loved POFQ so we are staying there again, and are excited about many things, including Soarin' not being under refurb this time, and the new Star Wars fireworks show at DHS. My son loved the last one, but the projection stuff looks amazing. We haven't watched a whole video of it yet, wanting to be surprised when we see it!

We are also eager to see if AK will have evening hours. That would be very cool to ride EE at night and see some how the park changes.

Waiting for those discounts to come out here in a few months!! Since there are so many other discounts coming out, I am hoping to save some cash on this trip if they offer something.

Edited to add: Our ADRs are for Liberty Tree lunch (Our first time), Sci Fi lunch (our first time), Tusker House breakfast (loved it so much last time), and we are finishing our last day with dinner at Ohana (again our first time). Very excited to try some new places! And to fix the atrocious spelling mistakes! Ugh!

This will be our first January trip

This past January was our first Jan trip, and it was AMAZING! I love the cooler temps and the shorter lines. We happened to be down there when our home state of WV got 45" of snow. We knew we couldn't get home when we were supposed to so we stayed an extra day at WDW!! Couldn't have worked out better!

That's awesome! I'm worried about the possibility of snow hindering us getting there, but bring on the snow for when we have to come back!!

I'm hoping for no snow, too!! The last time we went for our daughter's birthday, we flew. And it was snowing like mad all night the day we left and we sat on the plane for 30 minutes while they kept de-icing it. I'm not a fan of flying anyway. That was just too much!! I said, next time, we're driving! If we need to leave a day or two early, we can do so!
