*********OFFICIAL January 2015 Thread - COME CHECK IN!!! ***************

well, we decided yesterday that we are going to leave monday, drive to a friend's house in Arizona, stay there for a few days, then hit up the park for a few days before coming home. I'm excited! So far the plan is to do the parks January 4th and 5th.

This is a lot like me! I live in AZ though, but we're doing the parks this sun and Monday :). I can't wait!,:cool1:

I wanted to pop in and wish my fellow January DISers a Happy New Year! Our trips are only days or a few weeks away!

A safe, happy, and healthy trip for all!

Thank you! I go at the end of the month but still very excited January is starting and I am under 30 days!!!

Welcome to all the new January Dis-ers!! I can't believe only 14 days to go til our trip!! EEEKKK!!!!!!!!

One week today we will be arriving! Super excited, the kids are watching YouTube ride videos as I type. Hoping we get a chance to swim at the DLH, last time we went in January it was so cold I wished I'd packed gloves and a hat and we are from Canada!

Added Anaheim to my weather app to watch the temps. Looking pretty good for January so far!
24 days to go!

Yikes! Where in Canada are you from? We are in Manitoba, and it's been in the -30's for the last week, so anything is better than that IMHO! Although my cousin, who lives in CA, just drove to Vegas yesterday - in the snow! So they are definately having some VERY strage, abnormally cool temps lately.

We are heading down in 13 days.....then disney a few more after that....but we're hoping the sun will be nice and hot!! :beach:

I told DH not to expect the warmest but he is thinking it will be warmer spring temps. It doesn't get very cold where we are in the Okanagan, but DH is from Edmonton so if its like that I'll be worried!

-30 T.T, we've barely hit -20 here in November, hasn't been that cold since but that was abnormal from our area. I have some friends out in Manitoba and the pictures of their snow this year were horrible! Glad you're keeping warm!

We will be there January 7 and 8 for mine and Elvis' birthdays!
And because I just graduated from my healthcare program, we are also doing the walk in Walts footsteps tour.

I remember the days (before husband and child) when I would be all packed a full two weeks prior to any vacation. Fast forward to now... We are leaving tomorrow morning and I am still doing laundry so that I can pack.

I miss being prepared, but I wouldn't give my family up for anything!

Vancouver, so we don't get cold weather very often. When we were at Disney in Jan 2012, it was cold. We had packed for fall temperatures and ended up having to buy an extra jacket for our 11 month old and I kept saying I wished I packed our gloves and toques. Now, the mid day temps were ok, sweaters/light jackets were fine, but if the sun wasn't shining and it was windy (which it was) you sure didn't feel like you were in California. Right now the long range forecast has high temperatures in the low 20's (Celsius) which will be nice.

We visited in January 2012 too and even though we were from Chicago, we wore coats, hats and gloves nearly every day that trip.

January 2011, it was hot and we spent a ton of time at the pool and I wore sun dresses!

Ya, I'm trying to start a packing list and it's becoming more and more confusing for me. I think I am going to pack lots of long pants and tshirts, plus a couple pairs of shorts just in case it gets warm. We will only be at the parks for 3 nights, the rest of the time we are in San Clemente on the coast, so I think we will be ok for warmer temps. :)

I have a question for experienced Dis-ers that have stayed onsite -

Can we bring beer & groceries with us? Can we have it delivered? If we plan on bringing it ourselves, will the hotel store it for us until our room is ready on check-in day? We will be there earlier than our room will be ready, and we will have dairy products with us that will have to be kept in a cool space.

Thanks!!

Yes, you can bring groceries. I know that Von's delivers to area DL resorts. Bell services will accept delivery and store your items for your arrival.

Vons wouldn't let me actually order without an american BILLING zipcode. I'm Canadian, so my billing address is a Postal Code....

so. very. frustrated.
