Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

The first post on page 1 is helpful but could you add info about getting to and from Disney Springs from other parks and from other resorts. Also, while at it, how about getting to/from the waterparks.

Getting to DS from the resorts is easy - all resorts have direct bus service. (Same with the water parks.) Getting to and from DS and the parks is a little trickier since there's no direct bus service between DS and the parks, so what you need to do is transfer at a resort - either the closest one to the park you're at, or at SSR since you can walk to DS from there.

Thank you! I did the walk between SS and DS years ago. I had to exit the resort and walk down a road and turn in where the busses are. Is there a more direct route now? Someone mentioned a bridge? Do you have pics?

As far as I know, you never had to exit SSR in order to walk to DS - it's basically right across the water. All I know for sure is that you get off at the Congress Park stop and that there is a bridge.

It's really pretty straightforward. You can't get to DS from the parks. And each resort has buses that go to DS.
There are also buses, from each resort, that go to the water parks.
This thread is actually for more convoluted things...resort to resort for instance.

As far as SSR to DS goes...there used to be a walkway between them. Then it was closed for renovations. So, another walkway was provided..but this one was along the golf course and exited by Cirque. Now, however, the new walkway is open. It runs from Congress Park area to the area of DS close to the bus stops, beside the big Christmas store. It's a terrific walkway.
Hope this helps a bit.

I googled it and found pictures of the bridge!! It is pretty! Thanks so much!

So if wanting to go from Magic Kingdom to DS, I understand I need to get to a resort first. Should I take the monorail to one of the MK resorts and then get their bus to DS? Which would be the best/shortest distance MK resort to do this at?

Just walk to the Contemporary. Another option would be to take the bus to Saratoga Springs, get off at the Congress Park stop and walk.

Can you get a bus at the TTC to DS, or are they infrequent?
The TTC is the parking lot for MK. There is no transportation from any park to DS. Even when the DHS and AK buses were at TTC, there were no buses to DS.
The only buses that are at TTC are the Lynx buses (Orlando's public transit) and off-site resort shuttle buses.

So if I take the bus to SS and get off at the Congress Park stop, how far of a walk is it? We plan on eating at Paradiso 37. Where would we end up if we walked? This matters to me because it will be in July and verrrryy hot!! Thanks! Just trying to find the shortest route.

About half a mile to The Landing. If you want, you can get the boat at the MktPl dock, which is about a quarter mi.

Have to agree. I would take the bus to SSR, get off at the Springs stop, go through the bldg to the boat docks, take the boat over.

Hi all, I hope you can help me with my current worry bead. On my first day on site we have a 7.30 am reservation at Ohana, we are due to check in at POR on that day and are travelling in our hire car from I Drive. Preferably we would like to finish at ohana get on the mono rail and be at MK for rope drop we will stay in park until early afternoon before heading to POR. There seem to be a number of options on where we leave the car and how we get to the Poly but I can't decide on which will be the best trying to balance stress/cost/ early start. Our trip is in August. Any advice or views and experience would be very welcome.

What options are you considering? You can't park at the Poly all day, so your best bet is to park at the TTC and walk over to the poly for breakfast. You'll be free to take the monorail after that. Alternatively, you could park at POR and take the bus to MK, but you'd probably Ned to arrive around 6AM.

The options I am considering are driving to POR checking in so I get my parking permit, leaving car at POR and getting a taxi to Poly. I am worried that we would need to be at POR very early to allow the time to check in at the desk. Probaly need to arrive for 6.30 am ? I am right in thinking I can't park free at the resort and run the risk of being towed unless I display my permit ? If time allows rather than get a Taxi, drive to and park at TTc and walk to Poly as you suggest. The other alternative I think would be to pay for valet parking at Poly which I believe then let's you Park all day, this comes at a cost I think About 25 dollars.

Okay guys...lets see if we can organize any and all quetions pertaining to transportation within WDW here. It may help others to know exactly where to go to get the best info.
I expect to see lots of good info here everyone. But, not looking for debates on rental car vs buses. Basically how to get around using Disney transportation only.
Thanks..and have at it!!!:boat::drive::tiptoe::teleport:

I'll start with this one.....(thanks MagicBus)

Yes. I have just deleted the bus stop numbers since they can change overnight! There is no way to be 100% sure that the stop number will always be what was stated here. So.....we're just going to say you can get a bus, without a stop number.
From DHS to other parks, the buses will usually be found to the left of the park entrance..as you exit the park, instead of going to the right to the resort bus stops, go straight and then to the left.

....soooooo, you can now go from park to park via one of the WDW buses? When did this start happening? (I haven't been to WDW since the F&WF in 2014)....TIA.

At least for the past 9 years, you could always go from park-to-park.

What changed about 2 years ago is that buses to and from other parks started going directly to the MK. Before then, you had to transfer between bus & monorail at the TTC.

And, of course, there are no buses between MK & Epcot; transportation is via monorail.

There are no buses between DS or TL and any parks. Buses run between most parks and BB when the waterpark is open; MK is the exception.
