Buses don't run to the TTC. Bus to the Magic Kingdom and take a boat or the monorail to the poly.

45 is not enough. You have a potential 20 minute wait for the bus, and the ride to MK is 15-20 minutes, so you could just be arriving at MK in 40 minutes (or as little as 20 minutes.)

1 hour would be the absolute minimum, and only if you won't panic if you're a few minutes late. 90 minutes would be safe; 75 adequate if you trust your luck.

You are right...thanks! Wasn't adding the bus time is case we missed it and had to wait for the next one.

1. BC only shares a bus with YC?
2. The walkway from BC/Boardwalk to DHS is clearly marked for those people who are directionally challenged? Yes, me. <sigh>
3. Only take the boat from BW area to DHS if it's already docked/about to dock, otherwise you could be waiting for a bit. Once on boat the ride is only about 15 mins?

I'm attending Club Villain in January at Hollywood Studios and as I understand it, the event starts at 7:45 and goes two hours, but park closes at 8:00. If buses run an hour after close I'd be 45 minutes too late. Do buses run late when there are dinner shows or just for the larger parties? Would I have to cab/uber back to my hotel?

2. Very clearly marked. It runs behind the main pool area. It's very easy...even my dh can find it!!!
3. The boats tend to come every 25 mins or so, unless it's a very busy time of year. So, if you see the boat just leaving the DHS side of the dock, heading over to YC/BC, you may face a longish wait. Then, it's another 15 or so min ride to DHS. I left the dock area at the same time the boat did....I beat the boat to DHS by about 6 mins...heading to bag check as the boat came into sight.

If it's a WDW sponsored event, the buses should be running until the park is empty.

If we wanted to make certain we got to MK by Rope Drop (would prefer even a bit before), would our best bet be to take a cab? I know the DbT offers busses to the parks, but I'm worried it would entail multiple stops and might not be totally reliable (please correct me if wrong). Also, any idea how much a cab ride might run? Guessing cabs drop of at the TTC?

You can find out cab fare at taxifarefinder.com. A better option than the TTC is the Contemporary - it's about a 10 minute walk from there to MK.

Normally, I would say the best way to go using Disney transportation is bus to MK then boat to FtW - it's just a short walk from the boat dock to Pioneer Hall. I'm not sure how short "short" is, though. Taking a taxi and then using FtW's internal bus system might be a better option for your mother.

I would take a cab at that hour. The buses do run to DS fairly early, but they just aren't often enough. A cab will get you there quickly and be worth the expense....which wouldn't be huge. That way you could head out around 8:15-8:30.
As far as getting to Epcot after that.....the bus to BC is a good idea. The walk is under 10 mins to the IG, then about 15-20 mins or so to the front of the park. Or, you could take the bus to Pop from DS and then get the bus to Epcot from there.

No. They stopped offering them to keep people from parking at DS to avoid the parking fees at the parks.

There is a bus from the Outpost to AK.

Usually. The exception might be if you happen to be camping on the Yellow bus route. The Yellow bus goes to WL after the Settlement, and it might be faster to stay on to WL and transfer there to the bus to MK.
