Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

To get to WL for breakfast, take the bus to MK, then take the boat to WL.

After breakfast, take the boat to the Contemporary, then use the monorail to check out the GF and the Poly.

When you're done with the monorail resorts, get back on the monorail and take it to MK, then take the bus to BC (and actually, YC and BW are worth checking out, too.)

I'm thinking that by then you'll be ready for lunch, so I would take the bus over to DTD to have lunch there, then take the bus over to AKL. Another option would be to do AKL on your AK day. I've done a couple of December trips and I love Boma, so I kill two birds with one stone by doing Boma after AK and then checking out the decorations.

There is no way the travel time is going to be 90 minutes between any of these resorts. I would say no more than 15-20 minutes, and I think it's less than that between any 2 monorail resorts, although I admit I've never timed it. Now, that's not to say that you won't have to wait for a bus or boat or monorail, but even adding in the waiting time it won't be 90 minutes.

Bus to MK, boat over to WL....total time should be less than an hour, depending on wait times. WL back to CR should be about 30 mins total, then onto the monorail. Figure about 10-15 mins between resort stops, again depending on wait times. Go to the Polynesian, then GF. Get off at MK, board the bus to BW. Time should be about 30 mins total....when you get to BW, check it out, then just walk over to the YC/BC...you may want to check out the S/D while there as well. It takes about 20 mins to make a complete loop around the lake...so add that to the actual time you spend checking out the resorts. Grab a bite to eat at this point. Then, bus over to AK and transfer to the AKL bus.

Thank you for the replies!! Helps me TONS!!! :worship:

We have 8:30 ADRs at EPCOT. Will we be able to take transportation from FW to EPCOT and make our ADR on time? Also, do you take a bus from FW to EPCOT?

I assume you mean 8:30am.
Yes you would have to take a bus. They should start running about 6:30am, I would suggest being at the bus stop about 7:00am as you will have a bit of a walk once you arrive at Epcot.
You should make it with a little time to spare, if all goes well.

Yes - it is a.m. and thank you! :flower3:

If we are at the boardwalk this summer until lets say 10 or 11 pm and hs and ep close at 9 how do we get back to GF? My understanding monorail will be closed for the night.

I thought a bus from Boardwalk Inn to MK and then boat to GF? Will any of that be running that latee?

If the MK is still open simply bus to there and then monorail or boat to GF, monorail should be running if MK is open.
If not, then your only other options would be to bus to DTD and then transfer to bus to GF, or take a taxi which would be the fastest way back to GF.

Anyone want to take a shot at mine?

I need to get from POP to Yacht Club at 9:10 am on Tuesday Sept 11. Epcot has am EMH that day. Should I take the bus from POP to Epcot then go back to Yacht Club or is there a better/easier way? After breakfast, I'm going to Epcot for the day? Bus/boat/plane/jetpack??

Then there's MK to Wilderness Lodge on Wednesday evening, I can't remember if there's a boat or not.

Last is breakfast back at the Wilderness Lodge on Thursday morning at 9:25am. I assume I'd go from POP to MK, then do whatever I did the night before correct?

I'd take the bus to HS and then take the boat instead (entering Epcot just to walk through it to leave seems kind of silly to me), then just walk into Epcot through the International Gateway when you're done.

There is a boat from MK to WL, which is how I like to get there.

Another option if you don't want to spend up to an hour to make such a short trip or the weather is lousy, would be to take a taxi and be there in less than 10 minutes, cost approx $10.

Is there a way without going back to Pop to get to DTD from DHS???Also best way from AK to MK ??

To get to DHS from any park requires a transfer at a resort. It doesn't have to be Pop, but that's probably going to be the fastest.

The best way from AK to MK is the direct bus. I can't remember if it drops you off at the gate or at the TTC, but if it drops you off at the TTC, you can just take the ferry or the monorail from there.

How do we get from Animal Kingdom to Mickey's BBQ? Can we go straight there? What time would we have to leave AK by to get there early enough for the BBQ at 6:30? Thanks

We are going from BBB at DTD to Epcot (Akershus).
Would we take the BW bus at DTD to get to Epcot (Akershus)?
Need to be sure and not find out the last minute that I am wrong and be late for ressies!
Thanks!

Take the bus to Fort Wilderness, and then take a shuttle bus to the Settlement. There are 3 different shuttle routes identified by color; any one will get you to the Settlement, and they all take about the same time (within 5 minutes or so.)

Be at the load zone at AK 90 minutes before the time you want to arrive at the BBQ.

An alternate route which takes about the same amount of time is to take the bus to Wilderness Lodge, and from there take the bus to FtW. The bus from WL to FtW goes directly to the Settlement.

That will work, but you might as well get off the bus at BC. The same bus stops at BC before BW, and I think the walk is slightly shorter.

First post, so be gentle :). My wife and I will be celebrating our 6th anniversary at the Yachtsman Steakhouse over at the YC in June and I want to take her over to Jelly Rolls after dinner. I have looked and looked, but cannot find a definitive answer the best way to get there. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Walk. It will take you less than 10 mins...walk out of the YC, back door area, turn right on the walkway. You will go up a slight hill, then a bridge. Go left, into Boardwalk....Jellyrolls will be right there, on the right.

And welcome to the DIS boards!!!
