Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help a confused Brit please?

We will be using our hotel transport from I-Drive to Epcot bus area and will be going to the following places:

Day #1 - TL, TL to DHS, and then back to Epcot again to be picked up
Day #2 - Epcot only (no need to travel anywhere else)
Day #3 - MK

The one I really need help with is Day #1 - what are the best routes to use? Will we be able to get a bus direct from Epcot to TL? What is the best route from TL to DHS? Same question for DHS back to Epcot again?

Day #3 I assume we should use the monorail from Epcot to the TTC and then onto MK?

Any help is much appreciated!
You need to get to a Disney resort and catch the DTD bus, which stops at TL. From Epcot, POFQ would be the most direct route.

From TL to DHS, Pop Century would be best, unless you want to walk from the Swan to DHS.

From DHS, there's a direct bus to Epcot. It boards in the charter bus area (they ran out of load zones) in space C7. Walk past load zone 4 and keep going straight to the clump of palm trees. There's a small brown sign, "Epcot", at the stop.

You're right about getting to the MK, but you will have to get off the Epcot monorail and get back in the queue for the MK express. If the queue is too long, you can try the ferry boat instead, and on busiest days there will also be buses available.

There's a bus. It usually stops at FtW on the way.

Probably allow 25 minutes travel time, plus 20 minutes wait time.

Hi we will hopefully be booking an Illuminations cruise for October. We are hoping to get a 5 p.m. reservation at Ohana's and then go on over to the Yacht Club Marina. We need to be there by 8 p.m.
We can either drive or take disney bus, whichever is more convenient.
Thanks so much.

You might want to get Giordano's delivered. It was about a 15 minute drive from near DTD which I'm guessing would be $20-30 each way by cab. Renting a car for the day at the WDW car care center may be cheaper. You could also check the Lynx bus routes though as if it goes by there it would be cheap.

Sorry if this has already been asked but.. Does it cost anything to park at the TTC and where exactly can I go from there? Just parks or resorts too?

There is no charge for parking at TTC if you are staying at a Disney Resort, they will issue you a parking pass upon check in. If you are staying off site the parking fee is $14/day, and is good for any of the 4 parks on that day.

Once parked at TTC you can use the monorail to get to the MK or Epcot and also to visit the Poly, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary resorts. Or you can ride the ferry boat to the MK and then boat to various resorts.

We're staying at WL and have an 8:00am photo shoot at Poly. What are the best ways to get there with DW and DS3? I don't plan on taking a car seat, so I'm reluctant to use a taxi if I can avoid it.

Boat to Contemporary Resort, and then monorail to Poly.

Probably 7 a.m. at the boat dock should be early enough ... but what do I know? Better add another 15 min., unless someone else says 7 is OK.

I think the bus from WL to MK will also be running, which you could take and board the monorail at the MK. The boat from MK to Poly will not be running, unless the MK opens at 8.

We really like to walk and want to have some meals at resorts, can you tell me..

Which resorts are in walking distance of

1. Magic Kingdom?

2. Epcot?

3. Hollywood Studios?

Many thanks :)

The only hotel you can walk to from MK is the Contemporary.

You can walk to Epcot and DHS from the Boardwalk, The Beach Club, The Yacht Club, The Swan, and the Dolphin.

Is it Disney Transportation or their own? It says that they have buses to all the parks and DTD but just wanted to check with those more knowledgeable. TIA!

It's a 3rd party shuttle, which is shared by all of the DTD resorts. Buses run every half hour. MK service is to the TTC, not the park. During peak times, the 7 hotels are split between 2 routes.

Mears is currently the contracted provider, and has been for the last few years.

Although the service is not as frequent as to Disney resorts, it is much better than most other off-site hotel shuttles.

On our July trip we plan to go to Typhoon Lagoon in the morning and stay through lunch. We have a 4:15p ADR at Yak & Yeti at AK. What is the fastest/easiest way to get from TL to AK?

I think the answer is either:

From TL take resort bus to POP, then another bus to AK.

or

From TL take bus to TTC and then another bus to AK.

Which is better (faster)? Is there a better option I haven't thought of?

I know taking a cab is probably faster, but we'd rather just stick with Disney Transportation.
