Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Yep, really!! The thing to keep in mind is that these early buses don't run as frequently as the regular resort to park buses do. So, for a 7:40 ADR at CM's, I would be out at the MK bus stop by 6:30. If you just miss the bus, you could face a 20+ min wait for the next one..sometimes closer to 30 mins!! So, if you get on one of the first buses, you won't be worried about being late.
If you wait until 7ish, you could ask the driver, when boarding the bus, what the fastest way to the CR is...walking or monorail. He/she may offer to drop you there on the way to or from MK. But, it isn't a certainty, so don't count on it happening. I would just be out at the bus stop no later than 6:45. Then, when you get to MK, walk towards the park entrance, but go right instead of left. Follow the sidewalk that runs beneath the monorail, all the way to the CR. Takes less than 10 mins to walk it.

I have a few questions on transportation and I'm sorry if I'm asking some that may have already been asked ...

I will be heading to Disney in 6 months. There will be 6 of us all together ... Me (31), my husband (28), my sister (38), her husband (turning 50 on the trip), my nephew (8) and finally my niece (5)

We are staying at Music and are trying to figure out the best ways to get to places and how long it would take to get to each of the following:

1) An 8am Donald's Safari Breakfast reservation at Tusker House Restaurant?

2) An 8am reservation at Cape May Café

3) Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Luau Cove (8pm)

4) Sea World

5) Universal Studios - Island of Adventures

AND FINALLY

6) Universal Studios back to Downtown Disney for a 9pm Cirque Du Soleil show.

Thank you all in advance for your help!!!

1. You'll need to be out at the AK bus stop by 6:45ish. The buses to the parks start running by 6:30 and run less frequently as the regular park buses do. You need to be on a bus no later than 7:15. This will give you enough time to get from the AK bus stop, through the turnstiles and to Tusker House. That walk will take about 10-15 mins.

2. If you don't want to use a cab, I would take the DHS bus by 6:30/6:45. Then, when you get to DHS, you can walk to YC/BC..takes about 20 mins or so to make the walk.

3. Head to MK and leave there by 7:00. Take either the small boat or the monorail to the Polynesian. This should get you to the Luau about 20-30 mins before showtime.

4. I have gone to the TTC and taken the Lynx bus (Orlando public transit system) to SeaWorld. It's about $1.50 pp, you need exact change. I believe it's the #50 bus. You can ask when you get to the TTC. Tell the driver you want to get off at SW..otherwise the bus won't stop there. You then cross the parking lot and you're at the entrance to SW. Reverse this when it's time to head home...cross the lot, then the street, head left down the sidewalk to the bus stop sign...big blue paw print.
Or you can have a van cab or car service take you...that will run about $80 or so, r/t.

5. You have no easy or cheap way to US/IoA. I use the Mears shuttle..that's about $20 r/t pp. With the number in your party, it makes more sense to book a car service.

6. If you book a car service to US/IoA, you can have them drop you wherever you want....DTD and Cirque wouldn't be an issue.

Thank you so much for the help I really appreciate it ... I'm an organization freak and am happy to have some extra items to consider when planning days.

My DH and I are staying at WL for 3 nights while my parents and kids will be staying in a motorhome at FW.

Although I don't think we will join them at the campsite every night I am wondering what is the best way back to WL and how late can I stay without getting stuck walking back :scared1:. MK is open until 10 pm every night we are there.

TIA

FtW has an internal shuttle bus system. There are 3 routes, designated by color.

If your parents' campsite is in loops 100-500 or 1400-1900, they are on the Yellow bus route. The Yellow bus goes directly to WL -- you can ride the bus between WL and their campsite without changing buses. From WL, board the Fort Wilderness bus. To get back to WL, from loops 300, 500, or 1400-1900 board the Settlement Yellow bus; if they're on loops 100, 200, 400, or 700, walk to the Settlement Depot and board the Wilderness Lodge bus (same bus, but the destination marquee changes at the Settlement.)

If not in one of the above loops, they're on the Orange route. At WL, board the FtW bus, and at the first stop change to the Outpost Orange bus. Heading back, board the Settlement Orange bus, and at the Settlement Depot change to the WL bus.

There's also a boat between WL & FtW; it may stop at the Contemporary Resort depending on the time of day. The FtW boat dock is a short walk from the Settlement Depot bus stop. You can ride the boat to FtW and board the Outpost bus for whichever color they're on; to return, ride the bus to the Settlement and take the boat to WL.

The buses run about every 20 minutes until 2 a.m. The boats run until 11:30 p.m. (I don't know how frequently.)

This really helps I am going to try to see if we can get a campsite on the Yellow bus line. :worship:

If my family was at MK or Epcot, and we wanted to go to either of the water parks, could we take the monorail to the TTC and get a water park bus there? I have read that you can, but information can change. Is there a current list of what Disney buses stop at TTC? TIA. :)

The buses that pick up there are buses to DHS and AK.

No. Generally speaking, water park buses run from the resorts only.

From the MK, walk or ride the Monorail to the Contemporary, and catch a bus there.

From Epcot, there is a bus to BB, making 4 stops at Coronado Springs first. Or, exit Epcot thru the International Gateway, which is between UK and France, and walk to the Beach Club Resort for buses to both BB and TL.

Just wondering how long it takes on the bus to get to all four parks and DTD from CSR?Also best way to get to Jiko,HDD and Flying fish. Thanks:flower3:

Hello All,

I apologize irishsharon, but I do not know the times from park to park.

Would anyone be able to lend some advice on traveling from MK to BC? How long would the monorail be? Which transport method would be the best bet? I apologize if this has been asked previously and I thank you for any advice in advance.

CSR is right in the middle of WDW. You're only about 5-10 minutes away from DHS and Epcot, and 10-15 from DAK and MK. Add 10 minutes if you're leaving from a stop other than the front desk, and up to 20 minutes wait time until the bus arrives.

DTD can take longer because of distance, traffic, and extra stops. Allow 1 hour including wait time.

For Jiko, bus to DAK and transfer to the AKL bus. For FF, bus to DHS and transfer to the Boardwalk boat. For HDD, bus to MK and transfer to the FtW boat.

All of the above require that the transfer location park is open at the time.

There is a bus from the MK main entrance to the BC. Should be about 15 minutes travel time, plus up to 20 minutes wait time. Sometimes the bus will stop at the Swan & Dolphin, which would add up to 10 minutes.

If you take the monorail to Epcot, you will need to use a park ticket to walk thru Epcot to the BC. There is no Disney Transport from the Epcot monorail station directly to BC, and there is no way to walk it without entering the park.

joelkfla,

Thank you so much for the info:thumbsup2. Much appreciated. Have a great weekend.

Just an FYI for everyone...may have been covered before, but wanted to share:

  • Fastest way to get to Trails End Restaurant in Fort Wilderness is via water taxi or ferry from entrance of MK.
  • Walk from Epot to BC (Cape May Cafe) is approximately 20 minutes and taking any other form of transportation will take a similar amount of time with waiting, stops and anything else that can come about.

These "nuggets" were passed along to me by a WDW associate.

Take care all. Thanks again! :goodvibes

It should only take 8-10 mins to get to the BC lobby from IG. You can walk to DHS from the Gateway in 20 mins.

Thanks for the info! So to get to BC, you go from IG (near France)? I thought we had to go outside of Epcot.

If you are outside Epcot (front of the park) there is no way to get to BC. You would have to take the bus to DHS and then either walk or boat to BC from there.
So, yes, to get to any of the Epcot resorts (BW, S/D, YC/BC), from Epcot, you would exit at the International Gateway, between France and England. This is where the boat dock to the resorts is located as well.
