Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

What's the best way to get from Poly to Pop? I'm guessing we would walk to the TTC and then catch a bus. Would that be correct? And if it is, does anyone havea visual of what the path looks like between Poly and the TTC. I'm a visual person. Thanks! :goodvibes

Just about the only way, other than a cab, is to head over to MK and take the bus to Pop from there. The TTC has no resort buses at all.

We are arriving on a Saturday afternoon in mid September and staying in CBR. We'd like to spend the afternoon/evening doing some shopping and eating at Downtown Disney, and it looks like we'd be primarily in the Marketplace area. We'll have a car, but I thought I saw somewhere that parking there is difficult to find on a Saturday afternoon. I'm assuming that we may be better off taking a bus, but I thought I'd check with the transportation experts to make sure I'm making the right call. :) What do you think?

Parking in the Marketplace area is hard on the weekends...especially past noon. I know that the times I have driven there, I have parked over by Cirque...but that's a fair amount of walking.
I would really just take the bus from CBR. You aren't in any rush, so being a bit on the slow side won't really matter.

How to go -
From: Beach Club / Cape May Cafe
To: POFQ / Our resort

And, approx. time to allow for transportation (MK to Beach Club and then Beach Club to POFQ)?

Thanks so much!!

You have a couple of options...but none of them are particularly quick...which is the case when traveling between most resorts.
1. boat (or walk) to DHS and take the POFQ bus from there.
2. bus to DTD and then boat (or bus) to POFQ
3. cab directly...fastest method.

From MK to BC...figure on about 45 mins. You may get right on a bus, or you may have to wait up to 20 mins. Then, once on the bus, you may make one addtl stop or possibly three.

From BC to POFQ??? Figure on at least an hour. Unless you take a cab. That will be under 15 mins. If you go to DHS..it takes about 20 mins to walk or 20 mins by boat, but be sure to add in addtl time for any wait time for the boat to arrive. Then, maybe a possible wait time of 15 mins for the bus to POFQ to come..then 10 mins to the resort.
Or, bus to DTD...again, possible wait of up to 20 mins for the bus. Then, a wait for the boat (that would be my choice of transportation to FQ), and then the 20 or so min ride to FQ.

I need to get from Animal Kingdom Villas to AllStars Movies by 8.00am using Disney transportation. What route would you recommend and how long would this take? Do you think we would be better off getting a taxi and if so what would the approx cost be? Thanks:)

A cab will pretty much be your only option. Buses start running to the parks by 6:30. So you could go over to AK and then hope a bus was going to Pop.It could take longer than usual to get a bus to a specific resort at that time of day.
I would really recommend a cab just to be on the safe side.

Thanks very much. Approx how much would the cab cost and how long would the journey take between AKL and AllStars Movies?

All Stars, not Pop.

That's significant, because most of the buses leaving a resort in the morning come from the nearest park. AK sends lots of buses to the All Stars in the a.m., so it wouldn't be a problem getting a bus from AK to an All Star. Even if the bus is going to Sports not Movies, drivers are supposed to drop off guests going to any of the All Stars.

Driving distance is 3.3 mi. Cab fare should be about $11 + tip. (It's further than you'd think, because of the distances from KV to Jambo, and from Sports to Movies.)

I have a question too -

I have a reservation for the Keys to the Kingdom Tour (yay!) at 8:30am at Magic Kingdom and I will be staying at the Coronado Springs Resort, which I know is one of the further resorts from MK. I need to be there by 8:15 the latest to check in (I'd rather be there by 8:00 to be safe). I have no problem being WAY early or getting up WAY early for this special experience. How much time to allow from Coronado Springs to get there on time? Do the buses even run that early if the park doesn't open until 9 and doesn't have early EMH? I just don't want to miss my tour! Thank you!

Buses start at 6:30 every morning. If you're at the bus stop by 7:00 you'll get there in plenty of time.

Do busses start at 6:30 am during December as well? That is such a load off for us if that is the case!

Yes. They do come a bit less frequently (about every 25 to 30 minutes) until about an hour before the park opens, so be sure not to cut it too close.
