Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

We are staying at CSR and plan on dinner at Whispering Canyon Café. What is the best way to get there and how much time should be plan for in order to get there on time for our ADR?

Using Disney transportation, the best way would be to take the bus to MK and then take the boat to WL. It's generally recommended to allow 90 minutes to travel from one resort to another using Disney transportation to allow for wait time for the bus, boat, monorail, etc.

Hi There! This may be a silly question but I have never noticed and was wondering. So on the first post it says to get from park A to park B take the bus to TTC and then take the bus for the next park. My question is, are those bus stops labeled as to TTC? I've never noticed stops to the TTC, but I don't recall ever actually looking for them either. So I was wondering. Thanks!

Sorry for any confusion. I have gone back to the first post and made the info given there more current. The buses now go to the actual MK bus stop area..same as the resort buses do. The only time you have to go to the TTC to go to a park is if you are heading to/from Epcot from MK, and using the monorail.

So, long story short...if at a park, look for the bus stop for the park you want to get to.

What time should we leave Pop for an 8:15am ADR at Kona? 6:45? 6:30? Thanks!

Hi all!

I need to get directions for someone off site to get to Kona Cafe. Do they have to go through the MK gates? Take the resort lanes and have the ressie # on hand?

I've never traveled there from off site, so I don't know what details to provide that go beyond "take World Drive to Seven Seas Drive" type of thing.

Thanks!

Nope! Just follow the signs to Polynesian. If you are planning on going to MK that day, then just park at TTC and then hop the monorail to Poly or walk over and walk through the rest to the Grand Ceremonial House.

It only took us about 5 minutes to walk from the TTC to Poly when the monorails where shut down for maintenance. :)

If they'd rather drive to the resort from off property, it's pretty easy to get around on property by following the signs. But stay attentive b/c it can be easy to miss an exit if you're not. All the resorts signs are first grouped by park distance so tell them to look for the Magic Kingdom Resort signs then follow ones to the Poly.

Is the fastest way from downtown disney to MK, bus to contemporary and walk to MK? Thinking of going to raglan for lunch on arrival day before heading to MK. We will be staying at WL. How long would it take?

Yes, except for a taxi.

From Raglan Rd, you'll want to board at the PI bus depot. The bus will likely stop at TL on the way out, so travel time will be about 25 minutes.

All together, up to 20 minute wait + 25 min. travel + 10 min. walk = 55 minutes.

Hi all,
We have an early 8 am ADR in Epcot but don't know how to get there and what time to leave. We are staying at the Contemporary and don't have a rental car. It looks like transportation starts one hour before the park opens so I don't know if the bus/monorail could get us to Askerhus in time if we leave right at 7???
Also, we are planning on taking an afternoon break on the day we are in Hollywood studios but I am now wondering if 3 hours is enough time to take a bus there and back to the CR and still have time for my 4yo to have a nap in the room??
Any advice is appreciated!

If I wanted to go to dinner at FF after a 6 PM La Nouba performance, would I be able to get a cab without much difficulty?
I'm told the show will last about 1.5 hrs.
IF I can get a cab easily, would an 8PM ADR be doable?
Is there another way besides cabbing it?
TIA

Yes, the Epcot Monorail normally starts operating at 8 a.m., so it's not an option. Buses start running about 6:30, but there's no bus from the MK monorail resorts to Epcot.

You could take the boat from CR to Wilderness Lodge, which starts operating at 6:45, and you should be able to get a bus from WL to Epcot in time for your reservation. I would be at the dock by 6:45 to catch the first boat.

As to your 2nd question, the buses run every 20 minutes, and it's about 15 minutes from DHS to CR. The bus back in the afternoon will stop at Poly & GF, so it's about a 25 minute ride. That's 40 minutes round trip travel, plus up to 40 minutes combined wait time, for a total of up to 1:20 (but more likely to be about an hour if you consider average wait time rather than max.) Add in walk time at both ends & you're probably looking at 1 hour to 90 minutes nap time.

What's "FF"?

Sorry - FF = Flying Fish Café at the BWI
30 minutes would be way too short to rely on the bus from DTD PI, even if you got off at Swan & walked across the bridge.

There is a taxi stand between CDS & DQ, but I don't know how available cabs are right after a CDS show.

Was I hallucinating a boat ride (or series thereof) that would get me from POFQ to Epcot? I know I can go POFQ to DTD, and I know you can do the Epcot-BC/BW-DHS route, but there's no way to connect the two, right? I looked on the map and didn't think so, even though I could have sworn I had read you could. I know y'all will be able to set me straight! :-)

Thank you! I did not know there were no buses from CR to Epcot! That is important information. I guess we will take the boat to WL then the bus to Epcot. Hopefully we will make it in time for the 8 am ressie.

Well 1-1 1/2 hours for a nap will have to work for us. Or maybe I will get rid of something on that day

Guess I'll rethink those plans...
