Official HHN XX Reviews [MINOR SPOILERS]

I went yesterday for my first time and had a blast. :) Express line didn't seem to hinder the regular line much. Seemed like the regular line moved at a steady pace the entire time. It was a slower night, though. My longest wait was maybe 30 minutes for Orfanage.

I think my favorite has to be Hades, even though I screamed my head off in it every time we went in. :)

No, it's permanent this year. There is no Stay and Scream area in IoA this year and no shortcuts from IoA to Universal for HHN.

are there shortcuts BEFORE the park closes at 5PM? or do we have to go al the way around through the front gate

Went last night, we did stay and scream, no express and still managed to get every house done by 8, we then caught the 8:15 Bill and Ted and after that roamed and did some repeats.

Catacombs: We did this one twice, I found it really cool. The plague doctors gave me the creeps though

Orfange: Another house we did twice, first time around we got some pretty good scares, second time around, I was behind a drunk man who had to look at everything and inspect its detail, it was actually quite amusing lol. Oh, the fire was also really awesome

Zombiegeddon: I enjoyed this house, it wasn't to scary but I liked the whole concept of it!

Hades: Oh boy, this house scared the crap outta me, I did not stop screaming in here!

Psychoscareapy: I liked it, it had some good scares, we also did this one twice, second time around the TM told us to play with all the light switches and hit all the buttons, so we did, it triggers some effects.

LT: This was such a cool house that we also did this one twice! I loved that effect on the floor!

Havoc: This house I found realllly loud and I got many good scares in here as well.

Horror Nights: I LOVED this house! It wasn't the scariest house but it is still by far my favorite, we also did this house twice.

Orlando Attractions posted a walkthrough video of Hallow'd Past with Mike Aiello: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awpa_gjy9tk

It's not much of a house for scares; half the time no one seems to be in there, although they did run me ragged in the Dead Exposure room last night. Overall tho' great for memorabilia...scares, not so much.

I went over for a bit last night and I'm sorry...I just don't think The Legendary Truth is any good. That was my third time through the house and it just doesn't get any better for me. I guess I'm missing what some of you are seeing.

Hades and Havoc were better this time around though.

Here are my thoughts for the houses as of last night's run:

Hades: AMAZING. House of the Year candidate

Legendary Truth: Incredible. Don't miss it!

Psychoscareapy: I got one of the best scares ever in the 2nd room. Loved it.

Hallowed Past: MAJOR FAN SERVICE. HHN fans will truly appreciate every aspect of this house.

Zombiegeddon: Fun in every way.

Catacombs: Eh, skippable.

Orfanage: Supposedly "better after dark" but was not scary at all. A little creepy, yes, but meh.

Havoc: Great idea, so-so execution. There are some inside jokes for Universal TMs that have been there for several years.

OK Darkie...I'm with you on your opinions of the other houses but tell me...what am I missing on this one that everyone seems to find incredible? I think it's cheesy and probably the most average house I've ever been in. The halloween masks most of the scareactors are not scary at all. Help me out here.

I'd like to know this too because I didn't think it was that great either. Cheesy and not scary in the least bit. Seems like they had a good theme going and didn't run with it.:confused3

I was actually pretty disappointed this year with HHN. It just wasn't scary. And I scare very easily. I'm the girl you see you who screams and runs away. Didn't do that once because it was NOT scary. The scarezones weren't that great, the houses were just cool to look at, but I think the scareactors must not have been feeling like working.

I totally agree and I'm not really the crazy judgemental type where I go around and nit pick every detail---I loved the way the house looked in legendary truth but thought the masks were very cheesy and not ghost like at all--I also thought this years scarezones were the weakest of any year I have been--I'm just glad I didn't buy thr FFP with express because once was truly enough for me this year.

I liked the set of Legendary Truth the best but for the best scares I think Hades was best.

I finally got to go on the 25th.

My top 3 were Hallowed Past, Zombiegeddon and Hades (only got to do it once and it was closed later?).

Disappointed in Psychosareapy. This is the house I had looked forward to the most. The ones in the past have always been my favorite. And yes I do wish they had a bathroom scene or atleast the smell in the house.

Orphanage--went halfway through the house before we saw any scares. I don't think it was cast change because they had been stopping the like for that. Hopefully I will see more next go round.

LT--love the theme.

Catacombs--was okay. I didn't really get any good scares. I'm hoping for more next go round.

Havoc--sorry didn't care for it. Seems like the Spawing slightly rethemed.

Okay decided to do another review since I have gone twice since the orgininal one.

My top 3 remain the same, I still love them.

Orphanage was better the next time or two through. I did get some good scares and saw the Cindy's this time. Also saw the blackboard light up which was an effect I really liked.

Catacombs--also more scares this time. I did enjoy it more. I have always liked the theme just wanted more scares.

LT--liked this house more the next time as well. I really enjoyed it more seeing the ghost through the wall and the one in the floor. I think you just need a chance to see some of the detail in the house.

Pyschoscareapy--I love Shadybrook so I can't totally dislike the house but of Psychoscareapy houses this one has been my least favorite.

Havoc--while I did get a few more scares it's still my least favorite house.

I like HHN this year better than last year but maybe the weather has something to do with it. Last year it was very hot and humid during the first part of October but this year is wonderful! I've been twice but will continue to go on Sundays. I think the scarezones hit the wall after 2004...there hasn't been a good one since.

My opinion is simple...IOA is better suited for HHN than the Studios. I've been going to HHN since 2004 and the best year by far was 2005. IOA has much more themeing and can be really creepy at night especially in Jurassic Park with the foggers and misters. I hope someday HHN will return to IOA but for now I'll just enjoy what I can.

I agree on the themeing but that's about it on Legendary Truth. Hades was better the second time around.

I more or less agree on LT. The opening facade is impressive, and I respect that they are trying new effects, but overall doesn't gel for me. I certainly don't hate it, just find it average. Not a lot of scares, the costumes didn't really work for me, and the whole "Ghost Hunt"...er, "Spirit Seeker" theme seems to get dropped half-way through for a pedestrian haunted house.

Then again, I love Catacombs this year (I'd put it in my top 3 with Hallowed Past and, after its improvement lately, Hades), but judging by the lines, I'm in the minority there. I guess different things speak to people.

I like Catacombs much better than LT and ZombieGeddon was just silly...but fun I guess. Sunday night was the first time I'd gone through that house since it was closed opening night...probably won't do it too many more times.

I thought The Orfanage was much better after dark but I had to use Express Sunday night. And when I went through Hades...I held my breath going through the door. The first time I damn near choked to death on the fog.
