Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Anyone else yell at the TV that they needed to find where the glass was stuck into Peter to make him "undead"? My kids and I knew that all they had to do was find the chard of glass and he'd be alive again. That's what happened when the branch was removed from Claire's body in the morgue.

That's exactly what I said! I just knew that Claire would either find it or maybe she'd heal him somehow.

I got the strangest feeling that somehow Claire is related to Linderman when he brought that plant back to life - their powers are somewhat similar. Wasn't it hinted that Grandma Petrelli has a power? Is it possible that the late Mr. Petrelli isn't Nathan and Peter's father, but Linderman is?

I got distracted a couple of times and wonder if I missed something last night.

After Peter was "killed" by the glass shard, why didn't Sylar take his brain? Even if the victim has to be alive for him to "see how it works", I'd think he'd try. But it seems like he just disappeared after that, letting Mohinder take Peter's "body". :confused3

Oh, yea, and I was screaming at the TV, too! "Pull out the glass! He'll live!" I thought Peter's mom would know what to do, lucky Claire was there.

Yeah I was yelling at them to stop wasting time and take out the damn glass!
Future Hiro looked a bit grouchy with present Hiro. Looks like he created that timeline specifically to help Hiro figure out what went wrong.
I think Linderman is Nathan's real father.

After Sylar hit Peter with the glass Mohinder who was lying on the floor got a burst of angry energy and slammed the chalk board into Sylar, knocking him unconscious. Not knowing what else to do Mohinder grabbed Peter and ran.

Thanks Tori! :) I must've missed the chalkboard part, but now I do remember a glimpse of Sylar laying on the ground.

I was yelling for Mohinder to finish the job! That makes twice now that he's wanted to kill Sylar and failed. If I knew a freak like that was after me and my friends, I'd make sure he wasn't getting up again.

So who do you think is in Linderman's circle of friends who tried to save the world years ago?

Linderman
Peter and Nathan's Parents
Hiro's Dad
Nikki & Jessica's Dad? (Maybe one who lost his way)
Simone's Dad?

Any other theories?

The tracking system is in NYC...Simone's Father's Building you think?

Did Bennett and them get out "on purpose" so they would head for NY? Or was it a surprise to Thompson?

Interesting .....hmmmm
I was thinking that maybe Grandma and Linderman had a thing at some point but then again, her hubby who died had severe depression so maybe the power got to him at some point and that is why he commited suicide.

I had forgotten about Simone's dad. But wouldnt have Simone had a power too? I think maybe her dad knew of them but was more of a benifactor to them. LOL..hey it's a theory.

Is Mr. Peterili really dead? No one seems to know for sure. From the graphic novels, it seems he didnt have a power. And if not... then the brothers are one of the first we've seen that don't have 2 powered parents.

And exactly what power does/could/would Mrs. Petrelli have?

Also Simone's dad was probably the benifactor, having all that money to begin with. Linderman didn't have the money in the beginning, being in the military I'm sure.

Plot lines that were never developed (or just not developed yet)

Remember the very early episode where Nikki takes Michah to DL's Mom. DL's mom told Nikki she had "no idea who she was dealing with" or something like that (Implying that DL's Mom has a Power)

And what happened to the little girl that Parkman found hiding in the closet after Sylar killed her parents? Did Bennet take that girl...I don't remember.:confused3

BTW why aren't Peter's ears ringing the way Sylar's did when he got the super hearing?

Is the show going to continue next season? On the previews, they keep saying, "Five more episodes to save the world." or something like that. I sure hope they don't cancel this show also. Seems like very show I like gets canceled. Anybody know??

Definitely renewed for season 2. Was going to be like 24 where only a few characters moved forward after they "saved the world" but saw a quote last night where creator is looking at a different direction now.

Yes, Linderman (at least we think right now) IS "Primatech Paper", the shadowy company that HRG works for. And he wants to get his hands on Claire. But, I don't think he wants to kill her- he wants to tag her and experiment on her, like he's done so many others. HRG is trying to protect his ClaireBear from that. I never got the "Claire is going to be killed" vibe from the Company. Evilly and cruelly experimented on, sure, but killed? No. Is it even possible with Claire, anyway? She's been chopped, sliced, diced, burned, irradiated, had her head impaled on a tree limb, etc, etc, and looks none the worse for wear

After watching last night's episode, I have decided that there is a good chance that Linderman is NOT the person running HRG's company. He said there were a group that had come together for good, but some broke off to use their powers for things other than good. Has any higher ups at the paper plant ever said Linderman's name? Or do we just ASSUME it is Linderman that controls things?

After last night, I like Linderman. sure, he has had a few people killed, but I really think he truly beleives that everything he does is for the greater good. The person behind the paper company is evil, plain and simple. Could Mr. Pettrelli be an evil one? Maybe he is not dead.

I am going to watch it again with my DS, so I may change my opinion, but as of right now, I think last night's episode just opened all kinds of different ways the story can go.

I loved Linderman's meeting with Micah. He is so adorable!

FWIW, I don't read the chapters on ABC.com, so my opinion is solely based on what they show us in the one hour episodes.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering why they would cancel a show that was so popular and got good ratings. I'm excited now!! :cool1:

I've noticed a bit of a parallel with "Watchmen", a classic comic miniseries from back in the 1980s. For those interested in the parallel but not interested in reading the book, here's a spoiler: the story leads to a larger plot where Ozymandias, one of the masked heroes in the book who retired several years earlier, schemes to save the world and bring global unity by manufacturing a crisis -- the threat of an impending alien invasion from a parallel universe -- that results in the deaths of half of Manhattan. This almost seems like what Linderman is trying to do with Ted -- use him to create a crisis that would unite the world behind Nathan. It sounds a bit outlandish, but it's an excellent series, probably THE BEST series I've ever read, and highly recommended to everyone without reservation. The trade paperback can be found at any bookstore or online.

From the description in today's paper about what Hiro learns from FutureHiro, it may also parallel a bit of a classic X-Men story, "Days of Future Past."

Believe it or not, these things don't really bother me. Even though I'm thinking "this seems familiar", it's the different takes and twists that Tim Kring and the others behind the show give that keep them fresh. Plus, the show is so well done I'm willing to ignore a borrowed concept here and there.

I need to rewatch last week's episode, because I'm still trying to decide if Linderman, Mama Petrelli, and Hiro's dad are all working together, if they're benevolent, or what. Either way, I'm looking forward to tonight's episode.

As a side note, Mad TV did a Heroes parody.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Holy smokes was it funny!!! So if anyone can dig it up, post it here. I tried to find it.

In case you didn't notice the WHOLE series has been a rip of common comics like X-men, Watchmen, Rising Stars. And not only is this a DAYS OF THE FUTURE PAST style episode it majory rips off the recient CIVIL WAR just as much from what I gather. Just another reason that if ture I will no longer watch this unoriginal show after tonight.
