Official~ Having a Dole Whip in honor of Bob "Bawb" Varley

Thanks! Once the photo was out of the way, we found a quiet, shady spot and talked about Bawb the entire time we enjoyed our Dole Whips. DD11 had lots of questions. She was genuinely interested in learning about Bawb and why folks ate Dole Whips in his honor.

Wow, I haven't been here for ages...(sadly, I haven't even listened to a podcast...I just lost the desire for awhile...pathetic huh?) and it's so great to see that this is still going.

We're going in a few weeks, so I'm going to read the podcast forum, download the podcasts, and get excited to be able to buy my dole whips (one for me, one for someone who looks like they need a boost) and to be in the land of magic once again.

I'm so happy to finally have a picture to post in memory of Bawb. I thought about asking the CM serving me if she's heard of Bob stories....now I wish I would have.

So this was my FIRST Dole Whip slurpped up on September 23, 2008. It wasn't my last either! I went out of my way to go back hours later for another!

I finally got around to uploading my pictures from my September trip where Lynn (newtodis) and I met to toast Bob with a Dole Whip.


Lynn and I found out we were practically neighbors as we worried about Hurricane Hanna hitting the Hilton Head Island area and also discovered our trips to the World were at the same time. This picture was right before MNSSHP on September 19th. It was also Lynn's first Dole Whip.

My DH and I had a Dole whip last week at MK. I explained to him what I had read here about Bob, the Dole Whips and how people post pics. I wanted to "pay it forward" but no one was online behind me to buy one for them.

For those going to MouseFest, there is a Dole Whip meet with Mike Scopa. (Dr. Scopa's Magic Elixir). DU is sponsoring the 2008 MF kickoff reception at the Contemporary from 1-2, with the DW meet at 3 with Scopa. I don't think it would be disrepectful to Scopa to have one for Bawb and snap a pic or two there....

Here is my Dole Whips for Bawb picture....excuse my hair, it was our last day and it was hot, muggy and drizzly out.

You can't read it, but my nephew is holding up his autograph book and my niece wrote on the page "Dole Whips for Bawb" but it didn't show up too good.
