I'm currently training for the biggest 10K in Atlanta on the 4TH of July, The AJC Peachtree Road Race :crazy2: yeah in Hotlanta with Jeff Galloway training group, his walk/run/walk has helped me a lot with my pace and also my breathing. I might take his half of marathon training later in the fall. :scratchin

This is on my running bucket list.

Foe those of you that have done the Princess before, how far out should I book a room, get flights and such ?
If you already know which resort you want to stay, I'd book now. You can always apply promos/pins later.

So awesome! I said that I would NEVER do a full, but.....I am now toying with the idea. Of course it would have to be a Disney race as my first one. I have quite a few 1/2's under my belt now. Can you lend any suggestions to going from 1/2 to full?
Keep up the great work, you inspire me!:thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

Actually, I'm not training for a full yet. I'm running the Seattle Rock'n'Roll Half next week, and then am going big time strength training for about 6 weeks. I'm working towards the Warrior Dash and *maybe* a Tough Mudder (though that one kind of scares me!)

I did a Tough Mudder last month (Jacksonville), and didn't train at all for it. We got it done in about 3 hours. I was pretty sore afterwards, but felt pretty good considering the 20 obstacles and 11 miles in the heat! You can do it! :) Everyone is so encouraging on the course, but I'll warn ya - that electric shock at the end is NO JOKE. It was like I got tasered 5 times, once in the earlobe!

:scared1: OMG I had no idea that Tough Mudders have an electric shock!! Dang!!! I mean, I have zero interest in doing it anyhow, but that would totally seal the deal for NOT doing it!! Holy crap, I would seriously punch someone in the teeth if they electric shocked me at the end of running/obstacling 11 miles!!! LOL!!!

Me + Mud = does not happen :upsidedow

Another Atlantan!!! I will be doing the Peachtree Road race as well! It is my second most favorite race to participate in. My first being Disney!!! You will enjoy it and I use to run/ walk with the Galloway group that meet in Gwinnett. The program is truly wonderful and does help you really take advantage of the run/walk intervals.

I've heard that - the shock and the big jump are what have me worried!
At 51 I might just drop dead of a heart attack! :crazy2:

My husband had done it the previous year, and said it was WAY worse this time - I was honestly not prepared for how horrible it was!

Surprisingly, that and the "Arctic Enema" were the two worst things for me, everything else was very doable!

I ran it last year. It was so much fun. I didn't push myself and just walked it and made great time. It will be HOT so be sure to grab water at every stop!

I'm in for the GSC and most likely going solo. I've booked a LM room at AoA but thinking of switching to POFQ.

I have one too!
Great Wall of China marathon is on my list

Sent from my iPhone using DISboards

I have a whole board on Pinterest devoted to marathons around the world I want to do- like one in Germany where you run past ACTUAL castles, and the Sherwood Forest one in England where everyone dresses up like Robin Hood. The Great Wall is on my list but sheesh, those stairs are killer:eek:
