Official Glass Slipper Challenge Thread

You can check out the Dumbo Double dare training schdule at the rundinsey site.

Thanks! I had no idea. I'm new to all this and thought the dumbo double dare was the same as Goofy. The Dumbo only has a long walks on Saturday followed by the long run Sunday. Is that really good enough? I assumed you'd need 2 consecutive runs, if you were planning on running both events.

I think it will depend on your personal goal...
Run, finish, crawl?
I think I am going to do enough to finish ;)
If I get in before it closes. I think it will fill fast.

I want to finish foremost:). But finish running both would be preferred. I am very worried about getting in as well. I am an annual pass holder and a DVC member. I know they both got early registration for the WDW marathon because I got emails. I am hoping that at least one of those has that perk for GSC. But I am going to worry about getting in from now until I get a registration confirmation:)

Hey, you know my philosophy, if its the crawl, so be it. LOL

My husband just told me that I am getting the Glass Slipper Challenge for Mother's Day!!! EEEEKKKKKKKK!!!!! He also said that, depending on the price, I can do the Tinkerbell too!!! I am DYING!!!! Anyone have any idea how much it will cost to do both?

The DDD was $280 so I'm guessing the GSC will be somewhere around that figure. It's hard to guess though b/c generally the 1/2s at DL are more expensive than WDW. Last year the princess was 140 but the DL 1/2 was 175, TB $150 and the January 1/2 at WDW 160. I don't really understand why the pricing is so different as the demand is now high for all runDisney events.

Think is supposed to be 175 this year, gsc should be 280. But nothing official yet

I suspect DL is higher bc the route actually goes into Anaheim, so more outside coordination required, while WDW events are all on property.

I just marked my work calendar for noon on June 4th which is the most reliable rumored date yet for early registration for AP holders. I wish RunDisney would just officially announce the early registration dates. I just finished Expedition Everest last weekend and can't believe I have to wait until NOVEMBER for Wine & Dine. It feels like forever!

I'm very anxious to register as well! Is it totally crazy to think about opening a disney visa JUST to ensure I will get into the race?

I hope not. I got the Disney Visa to ensure I would get into Dopey. As quickly as Dumbo sold out, a girl has to do what it takes to get in. princess:

You definitely don’t need a Disney Visa. After the debacle with the Dumbo Challenge, runDisney limits the pre-registrations to something like 20% of the race.

How do you make sure that you get the AP email for early reg? I have an AP but have NEVER gotten anythiing about early reg even though I have have been doing Disney races for years and have had the AP for years - really frustrating :headache:

I've never recv'd an email regarding advanced registration either. I always locate the link on the AP Passholder Landing site.

Just saw in my latest AP newsletter - June 6 for early AP registration. I'll expect a break in at the back door 3 days prior. :rotfl::thumbsup2
