We were at DHS tonight and I didn't even notice the set-up for the Frozen package.
I was originally concerned that it would impact the non-package guests but that does not seem to be the case.
The lights, as usual, a completely fabulous!![]()
Hi guys, just got back. Didn't do the package but from what I saw:
Not sure at what time the package starts but they let people go in at 7pm. Around 5:50pm people started lining up. The lights turned on at 6:05pm
The area where it's set up is nice, a lot of space to move around. Plenty of tables with chairs.
The blocked wall around the globe does block the view of some tables but you def. don't want to be just sitting down to appreciate them. I would recommend eating your dessert and then walking around
At the end I saw them handing out a bag with the litho and pin.
lovethattink will post pictures later
Looks like a line formed an hour in advance for the dessert.
For FSF, I waited in line. Dh and ds tried to keep cool in the shade or air conditioning. Then joined me just before the line started to move.
Why would people line up at 5:50 pm for something that they have tickets for that doesn't open until 7 pm? That's crazy.
Thanks for the info! I'm getting excited.
Ok, thanks!
I was kind of thinking something similar. I guess it kind of makes sense if you consider that you might want to have a choice of where you sit and not have to wait in line to pick out your desserts. After looking at lovethattink's photos of the FSF party, the price makes sense to me. The desserts looked very nicely prepared and there seemed to be quite a few things to try. You definitely have to be in the mood for sweets. I did the Fantasmic dessert package at Disneyland and it was $59 for premium viewing and a very large dessert container full of different truffles, cookies, fruit, cheese, crackers and you got non alcoholic drinks.
The Frozen dessert party looks nice. There are tables with tablecloths, lights and chairs and it's buffet style. You also get a pin and a limited edition lithograph. I wouldn't consider it to be more over priced compared to everything else that Disney has to offer. I guess I'll officially be able to judge that in person for myself, but after looking at the photos, I'm pretty excited now that I have an idea of what to expect.
So was there a long line to get in and get desserts? I hate to spend so much money just to wait in line.

From Inside the Magic, here are the Frozen portions of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade from the first MVMCP:

I really don't see the need to get in line early. Yes there are a couple of tables that block (not completely) the lights, but the Osborne lights are meant to be enjoyed while walking around not sitting in one spot.
The set up is very nice and it does not affect the non package folks at all.
I'm sure lovethattink will put up some pictures I took from last night. I got a good couple of close ups of the desserts.
I'm interested in reading some reports over the next week or two from folks attending the event, but for what is offered at present, we'll probably be cancelling this.
Wonder if it will ever go public? I'm sure the demand to see him would be much larger than A&E since he appeals to more people. So probably not this year, huh?
Disney probably doesn't want to have an out of control M&G situation. He's much more mobile than I thought he would be and if Baymax can function in a M&G, then Olaf certainly would be able to. Maybe they are still planning on adding an animatronic Olaf to DHS like they have in DL.
yulilin did a great job of "on the spot" reporting! Great photos!!

Just to give a counterpoint...we did the Frozen Summer Fun premium package this summer. We actually took a trip to Disney JUST to experience FSF. For our much lower price point, we got reserved seating and snacks during a parade, what looks to be the exact same dessert party, but also reserved seating for a fireworks show (which didn't have to be fully experienced by walking around), as well as premium seating for the sing-a-long.
My take on the desserts this summer is different from tink's. While the desserts looked lovely, the taste of them just wasn't that great. I think each of us (including the kids) had two mini desserts and that was it. My husband and I tried to drink our money's worth of the adult beveragesbut all we wound up with were a slight buzz and hangovers from the cheap rum the next day. We didn't think what we paid for this summer's event was really worth it in the end, which is why we're declining to participate in this winter event even though we have a December trip planned. The much higher price point, coupled with the decrease in offerings just doesn't make it worth it to us. It's hard to justify a dessert party at a $50 price point above the Wishes dessert party, which to me is the gold standard of dessert parties at Disney World.
I just wanted to offer a counterpoint from someone who did do the FSF package and has the opportunity to do this one and has decided against it. Everyone needs to make their own choice, but I think hearing opposing viewpoints is important for those who are on the fence. For a party of 4, $356 is a lot to spend for a few desserts, a pin, and a lithograph.
I will say that I'm happy that this package area is a bit removed from the Lights so that those of us not doing the package can still experience the Lights fully. I do think this package is a good compromise along those lines--giving the "enhanced" experience to those who want to pay for it while not decreasing the experience of guests who don't want to pay the upcharge for a few desserts.
Do you know what they do about the lights if it rains?
...
We were the first party. All the food was fresh. Our cupcakes were full size, not bite size. Made a huge difference in the cupcakes. The ones we had a month later at our 2nd party tasted previously frozen, were bite size, and definitely not as fresh. But mostly everything else was the same....
So I see two pin/lithograph sets are already on eBay - they are asking 350 and 400 or best offer. I think that's a little crazy but, if they sell, you are definitely going to see me at the party!
