Official "Friends of the Fort" Weight Loss Group!

Thank you so much!

Wow, congrats on the 50 pounds, that's incredible!!

I guess I am lucky because I have been every size so when I loose, I have clothes that fits, of course some of it is out of date but items like jeans, and tanks are universal.

There's lot's of hiking trails in pigeon forge. We did a 2.6 mile walk up to Laural Falls. It wasn't hard but a good little walk. Watch out for bears!

Have fun on your trip!!!

I am happy to report that those 10 pounds and then some are gone!!

I have officially lost a total of 50 lbs from my heaviest!!!

Ideally, I've got 36 pounds to go, but quite honestly, I can't afford the clothes to lose any more rapidly.

My goal now is to just stay healthy and don't gain it back, and perhaps slowly drop the rest over the next couple years.

Woohoo! Awesome on the wt. loss.

Oh yeah, thanks for all the welcomes. I'm working four out of five evenings this week so my PM swims/walks are out plus it's been kind of rainy so exercise is tough right now. I realize that's probably just me spouting excuses but oh well I'm still saying. DH made choc. chip cookies Sunday and i've been nibbling, yuck. But at least I'm doing better with getting in water on a daily basis.

Thanks for the info. I hope I don't see any bears! On my camping trip I took a couple weeks ago (I made a post about it), we hiked part of the AT and didn't run into any bears.

That's wonderful :cool1: :cool1: You must feel so good :goodvibes The most amazing part is when you pick up something that weighs 50 lbs and realize just how heavy that is and that you were carrying it everyday  Keep up the great work:thumbsup2

Oooh, I hadn't thought of that. I won't be able to test that for awhile, as I'm not supposed to lift over 10 lbs for a month, (and I'm pretty sure I'll need to work my way up to 50 lbs over several months).

Carol - glad to see you're feeling better! Hope you're back to normal soon. Congrats on 50 lbs!!! That is amazing!

Lucy - Have a fun and safe trip!

I just got back from Boston for a family gathering of sorts. I thought I was going to be kicking myself over what I ate, but, honestly, I really ate sensibly. I didn't really even think about food either. I just ate when I was hungry and didn't eat hardly any sweets. We also went for a cheap little walk once (only a mile, but I guess it was better than nothing). I did eat a ton of those little clementines, however. We'll see what the scale says. I'm a little afraid....

Friday weigh-in did show a one pound loss but we had Wendy's last night (rarely have fastfood I swear) so I've probably put it back on and a few more. ARGH!

Hi everyone. I really have to get my weight under control. I need to lose about 40 lbs. Does anyone have a Wii and use the Wii Fit for exercise?

I have to get back on track. I have totally lost my momentum. I can't be showing up (hopefully!) to the Dis women's weekend this fat!!

:lmao: Ok, Kelly! What do we need to do? This thread was halfway down on the second page

I spent a week in NC and I am currently 5 pounds heavier than when I left, oh dear God! I had a good day yesterday.....so far so good today. I'm hoping friday will look promising. Although, right now I'm wearing my fat shorts......and they fit

Don't worry Ami, i'm in my fat shorts too. I am up from when we first started this thread. (quite a bit) I've decided i need to rejoin weight watchers to get back on track. Something about someone else weighing me in that makes me think twice about putting food in my mouth. I can't rejoin until my kids go back to school and we get a schedule. Until then i'll just post about how great everyone else is doing.:sad1:

I haven't posted on this thread because, I am embarrassed to admit, I fell off the wagon very early. I am so motivated now:cheer2: . Our trip is in less than 3 months. DH and I dropped the kids off at VBS last night and headed to the Y. I am proud of my 15 mins of exercise! I hated the elliptical (sp) . I will try it again some day, but not soon. Kudos to all y'all working out and sticking to a diet. DH is doing Atkins and me more the South Beach. I hope I can join in a little more here though.

I'm thinking of getting my jaw wired shut. :lmao: I have to psyche myself up again. I know all the things to do (and not to do) but I just can't seem to DO it! Ugh! I have gained back 5 of the 26 I lost. This is NOT good!

Amanda, I think WW might just be my next step, ...again. I don't have anything EXCEPT fat shorts. Where do you go from there.... fat-er shorts?! :scared1: My DH has offered to weigh me instead of WW. I would rather be shamed by a total stranger than EVER let him do it! I would end up a widow for sure!

I haven't been posting because I didn't want to dwell on it to much but I'm holding my own with weight loss, I've done fairly well so far. I'll post whenever I've lost the 50 pounds ( maybe next year sometime ) hehe :woohoo:

Kelly- I just wanted to tell you that I bought a Wii Fit and you can weight yourself and get your BMI and it's right on the money...I went to the doctors and was weighted and then weighted on the Wii fit and it was right on. I've been doing the stepping part of it and I really like it, it has got me up and moving.

Thanks, Terri. I've been thinking about a Wii Fit. Is that different from the regular Wii? I played one with a friend's son one day. We did baseball and tennis and I am embarrassed to admit it, but I was really working up a sweat! It was fun though!

Heehee don't worry I worked up a sweat bowling...goodness.

I like the Wii fit it about 80.00 and it has exercises on it that help get people moving..I hate yoga and it has alot of that on there so if your a fan, that's on there. But I really like the running ( which I can't run ) and the free step, it has help me personal alot because I'm so bored with my threadmill...the Wii fit weights you and gives you diet tip, to me it's just fun. :yay:
