*-Official February 2015 Thread-*

This is my first post on this board! So happy to be here.

Our trip is planned for Feb. 20-28. It will be me, my DD(24) and my DS(19) staying at AKL 3 nights and ASMo 5 nights. Can't wait!

We have all our fastpasses and ADRs. We got everything we wanted except BOG. Haven't given up yet though.

I'm so happy to be here. Been scouring the board for days. I have learned so much.

Someone even just posted about getting rid of a BoG for 3. You're allowed to PM (Private Message) them about that and, if someone else hasn't already messaged them before you, maybe try to time calling Disney/stalking their site at the same time they cancel it. Good luck and welcome to the thread! We'll be at the World the same week. pixiedust:

We were thrilled yesterday when our MBs arrived! We double checked everything on MDE before falling asleep and it was perfect.

But this morning....

:scared1::scared1::scared1: Holy.... Talk about a glitch in the system, and not the good kind like Vanellope! I hope you're able to get everything else sorted out alright. This has me worried now because the system kept blanking out (white pages) when I tried to go in and make a change to DSis' MagicBand the last few days of our window. Let us know if things get set back to normal!

One more thing, I would like to get those buttons that say first trip, birthday, anniversary etc... so that it can be extra special for the kids. Two/three of my kids have bdays in march, and the hubby has a bday, and our anniversary is all within two weeks of our vacation. Where do we get he buttons? I would love for cast members to embarrass my son and sing him happy birthday or something. Hey, moms need entertainment too LOL!

Yay, more people going our same week :woohoo: It's so fun knowing there's a handful of DISers out there in the parks at the same time. If they don't give you the buttons when you check in, you can always stop at City Hall in Magic Kingdom (it's to the left just after you enter under the train station) and ask for them. I hope you and your kiddos are able to make some great memories! It sounds like you already have some great character interaction lined up. Don't worry about the 9-yr-old. There's some pirate themed things in Adventureland if he's into pirates?

Oh yay Dreamport! How fun.

I have been on my Disney app nearly non-stop so I will keep at it. I will also watch that post closely. Thanks!

The good news is: all of our ADRs were recovered and set right (for some reason the ADRs that stayed also just decided to plug in any guest in my friends & family list), they found DH's annual pass in the system and we can see it again, and we have 3 fp+

The bad news: we lost our A&E fastpass and there seems to be no way to get it back.

I'm also still advised to head to City hall in MK and let them know what happened and they'll see what they can do about it

On a brighter note, we really didn't need to see 'em anyways. We were going to 'try' to get autographs for our niece and nephew buuuuuutttt... I guess now they'll go without.

Now we're left sitting around debating on what we want to do with this Pirates FP.

@Kiltclan:

I'm so glad you got (almost) everything back. Keep stalking FP+ because I have been seeing stuff randomly open up all week!

Just today we snagged an "impossible" to get breakfast ADR at CP for Feb 6!

We will be holding a happy thought - maybe you can get that A&E FP+ after all! :)

@Lynn in MI - are you trying to get BOG for dinner or a lunch FP? If Lunch FP, it has to be done on the 27th day prior to the meal. There's a whole thread on it with instructions in the OP. Very good instructions.

Well, we're 6 days out from leaving, 7 days (almost to the hour!) of arriving at WDW. We've never driven before, and I'm kinda bummed we'll be passing under the big purple arch when it's dark. But oh well... We'll be at WDW and trying a new hotel :)

Also, I got an email yesterday requesting an in-person interview. They are holding interviews on Thurs, but made special arrangements just for me! Their home office is 2 hours away, and their head of HR is already coming in on Thurs, but understands that I'm leaving for a vacation early that morning (like super early) and asked if I would meet her in between (she's coming 2/3 of the way, I'm going 1/3) the day before. So, that's a good sign, right??? That she's willing to drive about 1.25 hours each way just to meet me?

I'm excited and nervous for the interview, and I'm super excited to leave for vacation. I figure that while I'm down there, I'll probably either get a disappointing call, or a WA-HOO call... Only time will tell! :)

It sure sounds like a good sign to me!

Best of luck to you! Hopefully the Disney Magic will wear off enough that you get a WA-Hoo. It worked for my dad for his cancer treatment that he'd been denied several times lol.

Anyone else checking the weather for their upcoming trip?

Where are you checking for the info? I like accuweather.com

It shows some cool temps of a high of 71 for us from the 24-27 :wizard:

Oh and ONLY 1 MORE MONTH UNTIL WE ARE AT THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!

I'm checking it too. It changes by the hour it seems. I'll wait until we are closer to departure to put any stock in the forecast.

I have been checking the 10 day forecast pretty much everyday since Wednsday. It seems to change every day. So as Hcox said I will pay more attention when it is just a day or two prior to arrival!

Well got to get movin and get the laundry done, put the suitcase on the bed and begin to fill it! I AM GOING TO DISNEY! :cool1::cool1::cool1::wave2:

I have a question, hopefully you guys can help with!

I'm not really familiar with the diff between Memory Maker and Photopass. There was no Memory Maker last time we went to WDW I don't think.

So with Photopass, if I remember correctly from the last time we were there, they gave us a card, we gave that card to the Photopass photographers when they asked us to stop for a picture - and then we could see those photos online after our vacation and purchase them if we wished?

Whereas with Memory Maker, you get to keep all your pictures?? Is that correct?

Does anyone know what the resolution is on these photos?

My fiancé and I want to get a cute pic in front of the castle and maybe by the BATB mural next week - that we can use as our 'Save the Dates', and we just don't know if we should do Photopass or Memory Maker.

As far as I am aware, Memory Maker replaced Photopass but similar principals apply. You pay a flat rate and you have digital access to ALL your pictured from the in-park photographers and ALSO all ride photos. I believe your purchase allows you to have all the photos. I have heard that the photos range from awesome to just as good as your own camera. BUT some people say that you get fun Character interactions with the Memory Maker pass that you may miss with your own camera.

BUT- the Memory Maker CMs will still take a picture with your own camera too :thumbsup2
I think we are going to skip the $170 and just use our own camera.
