*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

We're renting a car (well, it should be an SUV) for $245 for 8 days. We have 2 non-park days where we're be doing some family stuff. So we'll be doing a decent amount of driving, I'm sure.

Well we leave on Monday morning! We need to be at the airport by 4:30am. Needless to say we will be heading to bed by 8pm tomorrow night, at least I hope. So yesterday I ran out to find a laptop case and found two Tommy Hilfigier suitcases on clearance for $16.99. What a steal! I couldn't believe how nice they were so I bought the two they had on clearance. I seriously felt like I was stealing! lol We are all packed and ready to go. The only thing we havent done is figured out how we're getting from the airport to the Park Vue. DBF wants to just get a taxi, they scare the crap out me. I just hate being the last drop off on Disney Express just because we aren't staying onsite. OH well. We may try super shuttle or prime time, but seem to have coupons online. What are the rest of you doing for transportation?

Assuming you're flying into SNA or LGB, I think (personally) a taxi is the way to go! I'll admit I was a bit hesitant to do one as well on my last trip--how would I know I was getting a fair fare? How did I know he would be safe? How did I know my credit card numbers wouldn't get stolen (because this happened on our taxi from LAX to Park Vue 2 years ago)? I was paying with cash, and when I asked about a flat fee, the driver mentioned that having the meter on would be cheaper than the typical flat fee, and he wasn't going to charge me more when he could just charge the meter. We had cash, and we went for it! It was quick (can't remember exactly how long, but much quicker than the Disneyland Resort Express has ever been!), he drove safely, he never would have access to our credit card (there was a card thingy in the back for us to use if we needed it). I'm sold on taxis now from SNA to Park Vue! It was under $40+tip.

This trip (in like 2.5 days!), we're flying into LGB, and using a taxi again. It's so nice not having to wait for a shuttle! And I have to admit, I loved having the front desk call for a taxi for us, it being there in 15 minutes, and no further waiting on our way to the airport! So nice to not have to plan 4 hours to get to the airport, like I did with DLRE!

Hey Gisele, I just noticed that I don't have your dates listed in the first post on this thread! When are you going to be at Disney next month so I can update the list?

Well like the wind, never know which way it may blow. So it could be anytime, day or night, with a dose of hope on my side and a bag of cheetos! Better still let my good friend Jim and his friends tell it...... :flower3:

LA Woman.... baby! :ccat: link line not showing up, but it is a link, it does work.

I've just put my kids to bed for our last sleep at home before Disney! We have our Seahawk Mouse Ears and jerseys set out to travel on Superbowl Sunday in style. We should be checking into PPH 30 minutes before kick off so the hubby is happy.

We have a Vons delivery scheduled for tomorrow evening and should have plenty of time to relax so we're rested up before Monday Park day.

If I could just find my son's Woody costume we'd be set and I could relax with a cocktail.

Yay, have a safe trip and I hope you got that cocktail!

So I noticed in another thread that It's Tough to be a Bug is also closed due to a preview of Cinderella. Anyone know how long the preview is? Not talking how long it will be in that theater, just how long the actual preview is. Never been to one in Disneyland before so I'd like to know if it's worth it. Is it just like an extended trailer or what?

Btw, our trip cannot come soon enough! We were at +16 last week and last night we got a big dump of snow and it's -20 tonight lol Ahhhhhhhh can't wait for the warm sunshine of California! :woohoo:

The weather apps for our first day there are calling for temps between 29 and 31C, woohoo!

Getting ready to leave for our time. I'm stressed but ok. It is such a long trip (coming from Australia) but we will get there. We have planned some Character dining, BBB, and even a VIP tour. So excited, but shhhh....don't tell anyone but after hearing all the 60th things am thinking of going again. Is it wrong to be planning another Disney trip when you haven't left for the first?

The last three trips were booked within days of getting home from the previous one...or was it the last 4?

The last family trip that involved air travel turned out to be a disaster. We went to Hawaii and my kids were terrified of the sand, surf, and pool. My DH is really gun shy because of that. This will be his first disney trip as an adult that had been planned. I'm hoping with every fiber of my being he and the kids have such a good time he's planning when we'll come back before we leave.

Haha that's funny! When I was reading all of the 60th announcements the other night I kept telling my fiancé about it and how excited I was that we should get to see it during our honeymoon next March. He said he couldn't believe I was getting excited about the things we're going to see on a Disney vacation when we haven't even finished THIS vacation yet! :rotfl: He said in fact, we still have this vacation, two trips to Vegas and then the wedding in Vegas before heading to DL for part of the honeymoon. "You're planning five trips ahead!"......:rotfl:

I'm pretty sure they pump happy gas into the air at Disney! I hope that all of you have a wonderful trip to the happiest place on earth!

Ugh, so far...not liking the new forum.

Anyway...we're mostly packed now. But still have a fair amount to do tomorrow. We didn't get as much done today because we got about a foot of snow so my husband had to take some time clearing it. Fun times. My mom was supposed to come tomorrow to watch our son while I finish things up but that may not happen now.

36-ish hours until we leave. EEK!!

Wow, it's been a long day without checking in at DIS lol Figured we were shut down for refurb until the 60th starts :rotfl:

Me either......I'm not one for change. I guess that's why we've only taken the same vacation, minus Hawaii, for the past 5 years lol

We spent the day doing laundry and getting things organized. We'll probably start packing after football is over and then finish up tomorrow. Have to go to work on Tuesday but as soon as we are done, we'll rush home, throw everything in the truck and then head to the hotel by the airport. So excited!! You leave on Tuesday, right?

I'm also not loving the loss of the app, having to check on my phone in a browser is a serious pain in the rear.

But, we are at exactly one week from our vacation so nothing can really dampen my spirits especially since the weather report is looking amazing! I managed to find some shorts for our son and ordered some capris online for me. With quick shipping they should be here on Wednesday.

Our got a Toys R Us gift card for Christmas and he picked a new game for his 3DS but the deal was that he has to wait until our trip to play it. He has been so desperate to play the game and has talked about it nonstop since Friday. Last night DH gave him the choice of either waiting to play the game but skip disneyland or wait to play and go on the trip. I'm not sure what his exit strategy was going to be if DS had said he wanted to play his new game now!

Luckily he chose to wait. Phew!
