*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Hello everyone! Ive loved reading your posts. Work has kept me so busy but today, being home sick has allowed me some planning time!

So I switched our res from Candy Cane Inn to the Holiday Inn. Expedia sent me a coupon code for $25 off, so our one night stay with breakfast included the next morning came to $92. My original res for CCI was $133. :cool1:

We dont go until the 26th and its just a quick trip but time is dragging. It should go faster soon as it is now the season of birthdays in my family! Grandpa's 80th birthday party is saturday, superbowl sunday, moms birthday monday, work training and work party that week, grandma's birthday the next week, my birthday the next week, then my best friend who i havent seen in 2 years will be in town. and somewhere in all that my car needs a detailing and oil change! Hoping all of that will make feb fly by!

I am surprising my friend with a quick one day trip to Disneyland (ive got two free tickets left from when I was a CM so what a great way to use them!). Im just so sad at all the refurbs, the park hours, and the castle. BUT, it will mean very low crowds so I keep telling myself its worth it to take my friend even if it will be a little different.

Plus, its a one day trip and then a month later, a week trip! :cheer2::cheer2:

I LOVE reading your packing stories. Please keep updating on how the parks are for all of you lucky kids who get to go in these next two weeks!!

Wow, what a lucky friend you have! I've changed you hotel on the first page so it should be correct now!

What issue did you have with booking online? Other than our BB F! reservations, all others were done online. Hoping we don't have an issue!

I was not able to get the time we were looking for online but when I called I could.

Count us in! Staying at DLH February 3 - 8 for the first time for my birthday! This is only our second visit ever to DL and my husband works at Kilimanjaro Safaris at DAK so we are very excited to slow down a little this time and take in more of the details! A little sad that the refurb list is so long, but we will still have a great time I'm sure!

We will take a day trip to San Diego for the zoo (2nd visit there also) and then head to Yosemite and on to San Francisco (first time for both!). We will visit the Monterey Bay aquarium also; my husband swam with the whale sharks and manta rays at Georgia Aquarium last month so I hope Monterey Bay Aquarium is as awesome as I've heard! Plane leaves on Tuesday evening - totally stoked! :cool1:

Wow, what a great trip you have planned! Welcome to the Feb thread!

What is the link for signing up for the Tortilla Joe's coupon? I signed up multiple times for the corporate mailing list but it never asked a birthdate and I haven't received any emails?

Thanks! :goodvibes

ETA: NEVERMIND, I found it, thanks!!!!!!!

Made resies at the Blue Bayou for dinner our last night in Disneyland. I have never made reservations or eaten there.... so excited! Normally I hate having reservations because I don't like having to be somewhere at a certain time but I decided to give it a whirl!

Surf and turf here I come!! What do you all like to eat there?

Ordered Vons to be delivered to the hotel.

19 days! Eek! :dance3:

Great choice! I normally really enjoy the Tesoro Island Chicken. I Especially enjoy, again, normally (I have stories, yes, real ones lol) their Surf and Turf.
I like to sit by the o'l bayou. So in order to have an opportunity to do so, arrive early, in my opinion, at least 20 minutes or so to ask at checkin for the possibility of a water side table.
Beware though, you will be even more apparent to those rascally, rogue pirates, who at any time, even though unprovoked mind ya, will leave from their vessel onto the shores of the bayou to plunder and loot, and maybe even set a small fire or two or three, it all depends upon their moods ya see. So whatever you do, make sure to hide all of your valuables as well as possible! Not that it is any guarantee mind ye, for I have seen those bad boy pirates and privateers as well, hold upside down even elderly gentlemen, who refused to allow them to pick their pockets properly. Which if they had been cooperative to begin with, they would not have been hanging upside down, being shaken all about, so as to make sure every last bit of gold has become shaken loose. Including gold teeth. Not a pretty picture, especially when one is attmepting to enjoy their fine dining experience. Like I have said in the past too, not even your shoes may be safe. See some of those pirates are related to the dirty foot pirate. And like the dirty foot pirate have said dirty feet, becuase they are lackin proper foot wear. So, if any of them see shoes or boots especially, that they like, that any of the dinner guests of the Blue Bayou are wearin, well... let's just say, give your shoes up, so you might be able to enjoy your dessert still. Of course, if those rotten scoundrels are hungry, then don't be suprised if after plundering your goods, they will sit down, order rum, and then begin eating from your plate. Sorry, but to go is not an opition, not with the food anyway, only your poor wretched soul. It's great fun! Well unless of course you be the one hangin upside down, by your toes, then not so much.

Cheers!

I just made a reservation for our last morning there at Goofy's Kitchen to celebrate my son's birthday which is a week after we get home and hopefully can get me out of a party. Do they do anything special for birthdays?

Now I'm reading about the limited characters at Goofys. We won't have park passes that day and want a brunch... Would Storytellers be better? We're doing Surf's Up our first day there...

Just got Reservations for Ariel's Grotto for February 28th, 2015.

Although they are closed for a couple of weeks (February 2 to February 27, 2015), Ariels's Grotto re-opens on February 27th.

Thought I would pass this along for anyone who was thinking that they cannot do the Breakfast with the Characters at Ariel's but will be visiting after Feb 27, 2015.

This particular day should be a delight for the tummy for DD and I as we do Ariel's in the morning, and BB for dinner just before Fantasmic that same evening.

1) Thank you for the advice! I would love to sit by the water, never thought to get there early for our reservation, will totally do that now, thanks!

2) You are HILARIOUS. Love your posts, they always crack me up!

For me, it would depend on what characters you are interested in seeing. Storyteller's has Chip and Dale and some of the characters from Brother Bear like Koda and Kenai.

Goofy's Kitchen will have more classic characters like of course Goofy but also Chip and Dale, Pluto and I think once saw the Mad Hatter there.

Oh, that is just great news, glad your daughter is going to get to meet so many Princesses!

To be honest, we've eaten at Blue Bayou twice and neither time impressed us at all. If not for the new F! dining, I don't think we would eat there again.

DH is convinced that the third time has got to be the charm and we will get a fantastic meal there!

Our holiday starts today, we are off to Canberra to fly to Sydney, stay over night in Sydney to fly out to USA in the morning... exiting and scary at the same time...catch you guys all later

I'm starting to worry about our 7:15 breakfast ressie at Storytellers. My kids are early risers... One of them is alway up before 6, so it seems like it should be totally doable. But that's our check out day and we are hoping to push bedtime the night before. I'm thinking if we are there by 7:30 it's probably ok, right? We are trying to make early entry at 9!

Hooray! Have a safe trip and I know you are going to have an amazing time! :yay:

It all depends on some variables. How long will you need in the morning for everyone to get ready and out the door? Will you need to deal with luggage? What about checking out? Do you want to get in line early to get into the park and if so, how early? Also, how long are you budgeting for breakfast, Minnie and Friends is at least an hour, not sure about Storyteller's.

Figure out how much time you will need to do everything and work backwards from that to figure out what time to wake up and if you can make it to your reservation on time.
