*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Hi, can you tell me, do you get to book certain tables or is it pot luck and also do you know is it a good view from any table? I am not able to ring and book, I can only do it online.

Ta

I didn't ask for a table. I was more worried about the special diet for my daughter. Maybe I should call back and put in a request.

Will one of my February buddies please explain the Fantasmic change? Something about getting FP's like WOC? Is it project to work about the same? Get a FP in the morning, show up about 90 mins early for the show?

That is what is suspected. With special reserved s
Areas for the dinner and desert packages. We will know more tomorrow when it goes live.

There is a really good write up about the new F! dining and FP on the Disney Blog. In a nutshell, there are now assigned viewing areas for F!, much like there are for WOC. There are also dining experiences for F!, much like there are for WOC.

In order of cost (and probably best viewing areas?) are:
Blue Bayou - you get a souvenir cushion and this is the only viewing area you can sit)
River Belle Terrace
F! Dessert Package
Aladdin's Oasis on the go meal
Pulling a FP

I'm trying to find costs for the above and will edit this post when I do but it's almost time to take DS to school! :)

I'm not surprised about Grizzly River. The water rides often go down this time of year. We never ride them anyway (unless it's pouring rain) so I don't really care much.

Splash is my favorite but I was expecting it to be down since it always is in Feb, so that's just a slight bummer. Grizzly going down would be the same reaction. I like it but don't ride often because it is either too cold or the line is too long- there isn't a good middle ground on this one! But, since my 4 year old is tall enough, I was envisioning riding it as the last ride before heading into the hotel so if we got soaked, we could be warm in 5 minutes or so!

For F!, I think we are just going to take our chances with the free FP. Even at 7:30, it is past our bedtime and I don't want to commit the money to Blue Bayou if we might melt down before it starts. The other options don't look appetizing to me. I am happy there is an earlier night time entertainment option, but feel bad for anyone hoping for fireworks.

I think everything more than 60 days out is speculation. Touring Plans has Grizzly down for one day on 1/20. So, clearly there's some info out there, but nothing certain.

Good to know its rumored for a short refurb! My DH loves this ride. :umbrella:

Historically, it's down for most/all of Feb. They drain and clean it... Or as one patron guessed, "Maybe they forgot to pay the water bill?" I don't know that I've seen it down for less than 3 weeks in the last 3 Februarys that I have been there... My daughter has asked to not go back again until we know the ride will be up and going! (We'll take her in May, LOL!)

I'm sad there'll be no fireworks. Last time we went it was NYE and it was so foggy we couldn't see them. Ugh! :(

It ran every day we were there last Feb (2014). Granted it was end of Feb. We enjoyed it cuz it was a thrill ride that wasn't too scary for the kiddos.

Honestly, if multiple rides are going to be closed AND no fireworks for WOC, they really should offer some sort of ticket discount like the 5-day hopper for the price of a 3-day or something.

I agree and this is why I haven't bought my tickets yet. I am not counting on a discount, but I think there is a sliver of a chance so I am waiting. I think if nothing is offered by mid January, I will buy- so I am hoping the Orbitz deal is still active then!

This is exactly what we're doing. I hate waiting though. Everything else is booked now.

I am trying to make ressies for Ariel's and it is saying "no times available" but giving me other resturants. This makes me think it is closed when we are there! Noooooooooooo!!!!! This was on our must do list. I was really okay with and expecting the other closures, but I really wanted to do this for my daughter. She doesn't know it exists, so she won't know she is missing anything, but aw man! We had a HORRIBLE experience at Minnie's last trip so I know DH won't go for that again.

Have you tried calling the dining phone number?

Editing to add the number:

(714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463

Good idea! I just called and she did not initially know of any closure when I asked for that date. Then.... she told me it is under refurbishment.
