dsnymama mentioned closing this thread to start another one? I think this one's fine. Slow but seems like most talk on FB and we have 7 months 20 something days to go anyway!! I have plane tickets book but that's it. Buying tickets later in the year and booking condo in January for best deal. I don't want to wish the summer and fall away but it's my first trip in 10 years and i'm getting a bit impatient!

Our dates are pretty flexible. So should I book our dates and then if need be, change them when Free dining dates are released?

If you are flexible, I would go ahead and book the dates you want when packages are released (hopefully soon), then if Free Dining is announced (probably around early Fall), you can call and get the Free Dining attached. It's great - they don't make you cancel and rebook. Keep in mind only certain hotels are part of it, but it's a lot of them. Sometimes, you may have to switch resorts to get it. Or, if you need to switch dates to get free dining, you can do that too. August will be when you would want your trip booked by to start your dining reservations. Certain popular restaurants book at the 6 month windows.

I'm taking the autotrain down on Jan 31 and back on February 9...

Anyone wanna start a new Feb 2013 countdown thread ?

My nephew is a big Mickey Mouse fan, I am so looking forward to a visit to the Disney store this week so I can shop for his birthday I have to help fuel the addiction.

I'm jumping in too. I will be going in February for the Princess Half. Right now the plan is February 21st thru February 27th.

I'm not sure whether it's going to be a girls trip or a family trip as of yet.

We just joined DVC this past weekend with SSR being our home resort, but are considering either BLT OR AKV depending on whats available at the 7 month mark next month.

Lots still up in the air right now, but that's ok. Have time to get it sorted out still.

Hello everyone. My wife and I will be taking our 10year old son Feb 8 - 14th. We are already booked and staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We decided to stay there because they offer 2 Queen sized beds, as opposed to double sized beds. Nothing worse than being at the parks all day and having to cram yourself into a double bed.

We are super excited!!!

Does Disney usually offer the free dining packages during this time frame?

I was also curious to know if anyone has just asked for a room upgrade at check in, and actually gotten one. I would think early February would be a good time to for this, as crowds are typically less.

We have been several times in the past...lastly March of 2012. That was super crowded and super hot. It was fun, but the heat just zapped our energy FAST. I hoping that early february will be no lines and shorts and sweatshirts weather. Were from Nebraska, so looking forward to leaving the bitter cold for some fun at the Greatest Place on Earth!!!

We will be at POFQ when you are. Last year, we didn't do online check in. When we got there, we asked for building 4, and while we booked a standard room, we received a garden view room. We didn't really care, because unlike at a deluxe resort where you might leave the curtains open, since there is a walkway outside the window, we never looked out it. I don't think there is much to upgrade at POFQ except for view. I could be wrong, though.
