*~* Official February 2013 Thread *~*

I would love to spend 2 extra days at WDW it's my friend that doesn't want to spend more days there. His first experience with a Disney park was unfortunately at Disneyland Resort Paris. We visited it togheter in March 2011 and neither one of us liked that park very much. I'm crossing my fingers that my friend will like WDW better.

I have to say that he is willing to go to WDW just because I want to go so much and he knows how much I want to go and that it would realy make me happy to visit WDW again. Even if he is going just because I want to I'm hoping I can show him what is great about WDW and that WDW is for grown ups as well as children.

Hi everybody,
We'll most likely be in WDW in February 2013! We've been planning to go back since we got home in Aug 2011, and hoped Feb '13 would look good. We'll be spending three weeks in FL, and probably most of them in the parks.

My little sister recently got accepted to the Cultural representative program in Epcot, so we're going primarily to give her a hard time :laughing: Joking, of course, but I see reservations at Akershus in our future...

This time we'll probably stay off property, which is new to us. It'll be an experiment... Wouldn't do it if it was just the three of us, but now we're big group - so many wanting to visit my sister!

Terkina - do you scrapbook? Such a unusal name, I'm sure I've seen it before :goodvibes

This time last year I had all ADRs taken care of - it does feel like a looooooong time until feb of next year!
We're doing 3 weeks as well, but we'll stay the first week onsite to enjoy the full experience, then moving off site for two more weeks and visiting Universal and Sea World as well.

How cool that your sister got accepted to work at Epcot! Does she know what she's gonna do yet?

A few days ago, I knew how many days I had. Now I have to recalculate. I need one of the # of days tickers.

T1nkerbell- Our absolute favorite spot in Epcot is the Norway pavilion. My sons LOVE Maelstrom!!! I am sure we will see your sister while she is there because we really do spend so much time in Norway! :) How exciting for her that she gets to work at DW and talk about your wonderful country! What will she be doing there, does she know yet?

She'll be in food and beverage-so probably at Akershus or Kringla.
Which is kind of funny. If you see a petite dark-haired girl with a Torun nametag, that's likely her.

You're really on the ball! I've got TS restaurants identified, but don't know which dates yet. I haven't even started going through CS meals. I also haven't figured out which park I want to do on which day yet. I'm hoping to see Park Hours/EMH and updated crowd calendars before I need to make my ADR's.

I wasn't going to do DDP but after figuring which character meals I want (now that I have a daughter who loves Disney princess movies, I really REALLY want a princess meal), and the Fantasmic Dining package, I will get a slightly better value doing regular DDP than out of pocket. And I have the really detailed spreadsheet to prove it. ;)

Right now I booked the room at POR for 2/8-2/14. This year Free Dining ended on Thursday before Mardi Gras. If they offer FD early in Feb and it ends on the 7th, I will book us to fly in the night of the 7th instead of the morning of the 8th to get FD.

When we went over Mardi Gras break last year, I had to fly over early with my then almost 3 year old DGD and check in to get free dining. My DD and 17year old grandson came 2 days later - my DD was in a Mardi Gras parade on that Friday in Slidell, so she could not go early. DGD and I had a blast for 2 days without her mommy!

Same scenario for next year over Mardi Gras, except that I'll be driving with my 2 DGDs and DD will fly over the morning after the parade.
My spreadsheet for this trip has 2 different dates for arrival - just in case.:goodvibes I will seriously have to cut back on the TS meals I have listed if they offer free dining.

My hubby and I are planning on going to WDW Jan 30-Feb 6 so that we'll hit over my 22nd birthday (which is Feb 5th). Plus you know the added perks of it being low crowds, cool weather, and a value season :thumbsup2 We're planning on staying at the AKL since that's the resort that my hubby got the most excited about and since he's not a huge Disney lover like me I'll let him have whatever he wants! Also did I mention this will be his first time to the ever so wonderful WDW? I'm very excited for him to experience it!

I'm really hoping that they'll release discounted rooms so that we can afford AKL or else we'll probably be downgrading. I don't really care about FD because it really just doesn't fit our eating style. However, I am tentatively planning some ADR's! I'm just trying to not over plan because my hubby will go absolutely nuts! He already thinks I'm planning too much already with deciding on a couple restaurants I want to go to and what parks on what days :sad2: First world problems

Anyways sorry for my super long rant but I'm REALLY excited to start talking to you all! This thread has already gotten me even more exicted then I already was for our upcoming trip! Also if you could add me to your FB page it would be much appreciated ;) My name is Kelsey Williams Helphenstine. Thanks!

Well I am hoping to go Feb 2013, I just have to convince dh. He is so wishy washy. One minute he says yes and the next minute he says no. I'm just biding my time until I can start pricing a package and hoping that I either get a pin, or free dining comes out.

The kids really want to stay at AKL and I really want to stay at CR. Decisions, decisions. Of course I have to get a really good deal, otherwise we will be staying offsite at the Hilton Grand vacations club again because it's cheaper. It's a really beautiful resort, but I know my kids would get a kick out of staying at property. I am willing to compromise if it means going back to Disney.

We are looking at probably late Feb into March so dh and ds can goto some spring training games as well. Of course ds 7 has told me I'm not allowed to talk about Disney until his chicks hatch in his class at school. That's another 3 weeks or so. UGH. I guess I'll be here a lot more.

Can you tell who the Disney freak in the family is?

Well at least I have dd on my side. She's only 3.5, but she keeps asking to go back. Oh, its such a long wait.

Sigh.

Well, we're here to help you pass the time :thumbsup2 And if you want in on the FB group send a PM :)

Have you stayed on property before? Definitely worth trying sometime. It's an extra dose of magic pixiedust:

Thanks, I would love to be apart of the group. I'll send you a pm.

I have stayed on property when I was a kid and young adult. The last time was when I was either in college and we stayed at CBR. It was awesome because we got in and my dad wanted to nap, so my brother's and I went to River Country for the afternoon.

I really want my kids to experience that, but I am having a hard time convincing dh because he is really not a disney lover and tolerates it for us, well really me. He is also having a hard time wrapping his head around the cost, especially because we get such a bigger space off property for less money. I'm really hoping for either free dining or a really big room discount to entice him.

Someone at work told me today that she can tell I'm more excited than anyone else about out trip. I'm trying really hard not to talk about it too much. I found myself going on and on about a vacation so far away and got a few strange looks.

My daughter turns 3 next week and the February 2013 will be her first trip. She's watched the planning DVD countless times (she asks to see it almost as much as she asks for Sesame Street or Yo Gabba Gabba ... and I'm more than happy to oblige because Yo Gabba Gabba can really start to annoy....)

My husband isn't going, at all. He has never been and is convinced he would hate it. If he's going to be miserable I won't let him bring us down. We're going without him.

I absolutely love being immersed in Disney and do not want to leave the grounds. Period. I'm staying at POR - and this website really got my kids excited about it. Have you shown him any of the sites/photos that shows how much there is to do at the resorts (campfires/marshmallows/movies under the stars/fishing/boating/etc)? The photos alone just impress me so much. (This site is strictly POR and POFQ - I haven't searched for similar fan created sites of the other resorts ... yet - http://www.portorleans.org/ )
