*Official* DWTS 2012 Thread

:scratchin I think the difference in Celebrity Jeopardy and other shows that have celebrity specials, versus DWTS, is that Jeopardy is a show for regular people to win money. So, when they have the celebs on, they want to make a point that the celebs already have enough money and are doing the show for fun and charity.

DWTS is a show like any other on TV in which professional "stars," <cough!> actors, entertainers and celebrities are hired to entertain us. They are paid a salary just as they normally would be for any other show on TV.

Makes sense.

I guess I was comparing it to a show we have here (Canada) called "Battle of the Blades" which is sort of like like DWTS but on ice. The pairs are hockey players (NHL mainly, but also Olympic/World team members who weren't in the NHL) paired with a figure skater (many Olympians and World Champions). They are all playing for charity.

A still frame on Nancy Grace's show last night explained that all the proceeds that she earns through DWTS will be given to the Center for Missing and Expoited Children. I am not sure if it has been mentioned before so I figured I'd pass it along here. Kudos to Ms. Grace!
Does anyone else see the irony that Nancy Grace, the queen of exploiting children and grieving families for her own fame and profit, is giving the money awarded to her to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children?

Her delivery and methodology may be somewhat questionable but I have no doubt that her intentions are all for the benefit of those that are helpless and vulnerable.

No, I don't see that at all. Can you do better?

She's actually helped a lot of people with her show. A few criminals were actually apprehended when she showed police videos that these guys were wanted. Someone in her audience recognized them and called the police. The profits from the book that she wrote also go to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

When she is on one of her crusades for the missing children, she can become really very nurturing, comforting and supportive to the people in pain or fearful of having their child kidnapped. In that sense, she is quite an advocate. She is the one that kept the Natalee Halloway story in the news for eons, when everyone else dropped it. Anyone fearing they might become a Beth Halloway themselves, someday, or already have children missing, love her for that.

It's her lynch mob attitude that is the problem.

She's very Jekyll and Hyde. She vilifies people without any real proof and riles people up.When she's found out to be wrong, the few times I've watched her, she never apologizes or says, "Oops! I was wrong. :sad2:

Chaz needs a new stylist. That outfit was God awful. Seriously A.W.F.U.L. And I hope after watching this he sees how unhealthy his weight has become.

Tonight is the first time I have seen Carson. I really enjoyed him.

I love Carson. I can't see him winning, but I enjoy watching him. I really like his personality. I saw him on the Nate Berkus show the other day and he stole the show.

I have never liked the stylist/costume designer for this show. You'd think with the money this show makes, they can afford better talent in those areas. :sad2:

Gawd! Maks can give me sexy lessons any time he wants!

Hope stomps around like a horse. She's so heavy on her feet.

David is probably under some type of gag order, but it's weird that he isn't mentioning Courtney, even though she is sitting right there.

I thought his dance was awful! He doesn't perform well for an actor.

What's the story with him and Courtney? I don't follow the tabloids or the lives of stars.

I know the judges spoke positively about Davids dance, but I didn't think it was that great. Then again, I'm not that crazy about the rhumba.

Give me some Argentine Tango anytime.

That was the rhumba??? That was awful! Usually I can recognize the dances by now if I miss the announcements at the beginning.
