Official DVC info threads?

I saw that the resort board has a list of permanent WDW resort info threads up top. Has this board ever had anything like that? I know Sandy (Thanks!) has started on her own with the room reports, but what about general info threads, where everyone can contribute with tips, etc. for each DVC resort?
tj.... - Oh, please forgive me I can't recall how to spell that screen name! has a good link they started to SSR info, correct?

Any thoughts? I'd be willing to help with a BCV one since it is my home, but I'd need lots of help since I've only been there once, well twice after next month!

I think it is a great idea!!! Then we could just look to that topic and have threads for everything related to that resort. Although I am a newbie (DVC Member since May 2004), I too would contribute any/all information I had to offer for my home resort (OKW) as well as resorts I have visited.

Isn't that what this forum is, if you break it down into smaller units by resort, I think it would be a lot less action on the smaller forums, with only a few questions being asked everyday?? It sounds like it would not work to me. We have a room report section on this site already, but I don't think it is used that much, we also have a restaurant section that has reports and ratings and I don't think it gets used that much either. Unless I am missing something it does not sound like it would work because of lack of interest. How many times have you checked the restaurant ratings, or room reports. I haven't and almost forgot about them.

As a matter of fact, the Resort Board is listed as the second most active board.

If nothing else, I think the board could use a better "how does DVC work" FAQ. It should address issues like banking and borrowing, importance of home resort (11/7 month windows, hard to book rooms like BWV Std View, OKW GV), Maintenance Fees, Magical Beginnings, Resale vs. from DVC purchase, room occupancy limits, non-DVC point use options, and so on.

These are the types of questions that are almost always answered in the same manner.

I think it would be doing a disservice to the forum to go into great detail about each resort. DVC members look at the resorts themselves with a different eye than standard hotel guests. To us, they are almost living, breathing entities. People invest themselves very heavily into things like upkeep, room rehabs, occupancy levels, recreation options, etc. IMO, it would be difficult to create a FAQ for the resorts because so many aspects of each property are constantly changing and evolving.
