Official Disneyland ½ Marathon & 5k

I signed up during the WDW Marathon weekend at the Expo. Anyone know where to stay at a decent price around disneyland where is walking distance. Its pricey during that labor day weekend.

Check out my posts on pg. 1 & 2. All the hotels around DL are w/in walking distance and easy to get to the start. Harbor and Katella are 2 of the streets that border/encompass the resort and where the bulk of the hotels are. A lot of them also are booking and b/c it's so early they're cheap and if you have an AAA card use it~ most of them offer discounts. Unless you're looking for a suite or staying at the 3 resort hotels, you should be able to find a hotel right now for less than $125 a night, some even less than $100.

Just signed up for the DL Half at the WDW Marathon Expo as well-- looking forward to getting the C2C medal! Think we've found a hotel, but now we're wondering about airport transportation from LAX... any advice/favored companies?

Super Shuttle is really popular, I think it's $16 each way/person. They always have coupons floating around, I think I have a code at work I can post tomorrow. There's also a DL Resort Shuttle, but they're $22/way and leave less frequently. Both are popular. If you have a larger family, a lot of people find it's easier and cheaper to do a town car.

DH and I are looking into doing this to collect our C2C medals. Just have to wait till the end of the month to see if we can get a room with our DVC points. What do you think the chances of getting a room at the 7 month window? Anyone have any experience with that? If we cannot get the room, I don't think we will make it this year. We need to keep the whole weekend under $1000-airfare and registration included in that.

Thinking of doing DL half with a friend.

Can anyone help me with a few questions? I wasn't able to train much for the WDW half due to work stress and then was sick just before the race so even though I did (much to my surprise) finish the half my clock time was 4:36. I had read that Disney eventually gets rid of the results for all those with a clock time of over 4:30. Will I still qualify for the C2C if I have printed my certificate?

I won't try another half without training so I'm hoping signing up for DL half will really motivate me to get out there and train!

Also my chip time and clock time are the same. Seems like they didn't record me going over the starting line. I did the first 6 + miles with my friend who's bib # was 1 less than mine. We got our photo taken at the castle together. Any chance I could get runDisney to take the extra 36 minutes off my official time?

Any idea when we'll be able to print our WDW half certificates?

Thanks for any insights!

Found the code for you. It works w/ the super shuttle~ $3 each way/$6 rt. It is UYR59.

Don't know about the DVC points, but if you're looking at booking at the end of the this month, I think you'll be okay. Not sure if the points equate to the dollar value of the hotel, but the cheapest is Paradise Pier. As for airfare, LAX is usually cheaper than Orange County.

I've heard that if you can show pictures of when you crossed the start line or other areas, they might adjust your time. If you call them, also tell them your corral letter and they should be able to adjust at least to when your corral crossed the start line.

Thanks! We were right at the front of corral G so my time is of 36 mins (6 starts ahead of us at 6 min each) which also matches what I'm off from my friend when we crossed 1 mile, 5K & 10K points. I'll give them a call and ask about if the 4 hour time is good enough to qualify for the C2C.

I'm just back at home after a great WDW Marathon weekend (plus a week) trip.

Doing the Dopey was great but I need something else to look forward to and also to keep me training so I think the DL Half and Coast to Coast medal will be it. I was going to sign up at the WDW race expo but the lines were long and the "special offer" of a free bag wasn't enough to make me wait 30+ minutes to register without saving any money. So I'll wait until regular registration online is available.

I've already got my DVC Grand Californian studio booked and will need to look into flights next. I think this will be a solo weekend trip for me as the whole family came along to WDW and I'll need to keep the budget down for this trip. It will be the first time I've travelled out of town to a race on my own so going without a supporter will be a little different for me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone update as we progress towards the DL Half.

Love your siggy! STEP 4: COAST-TO-COAST!

Just booked our DLH rooms through Get Travel :cool1:

Going to be there for 7 nights. We are so excited. It will be DW's first race at a Disney event. She will be doing the 5k :woohoo::cheer2:

Now if it would stop snowing here so that I can get out and run. Ran 10 mile trail run in the snow on Sunday but now I can't even get out of my driveway

She's going to love it! I heard about the snow up there this morning, something like 15 inches in 2 days? That's crazy!!!

I tried calling yesterday but no one answered the phone so I sent an email instead. Got a reply today that they will take 36min3sec off my time and that I do qualify for C2C.

Now I have true incentive to train for DL 1/2. I know I don't want to feel the way I did at the end of the WDW half.

YEAH! That is great news!!! I am hoping that I survive the Princess since I already signed up for the DL 1/2!!! :rotfl:

Did anyone else notice that we will not be getting Swag Bags this year? The only thing mentioned is an iGiftBag. :confused3

Each participant's registration in the Disneyland® Half Marathon will include:
Champion® Race Tech Shirt
Finisher Medal
Official Race Program Guide
Personalized race bib (register before July 1, 2012)

Family is all registered :cool1:

I am set for the half, DW for the 5k, and DD for the kids races and we decided to go ahead and do the Pasta Party in the Park on Saturday night as well :thumbsup2
