That particular cake only comes with one tier. It's known as the Mini Castle Cake and can be ordered at places serviced by the Contemporary's and the Grand Floridian's pastry teams. Getting it at CRT may be more of a saga, especially right now while the MK Cakes email inbox is full.

Since it's getting so close, I'd call Private Dining at the Contemporary (call the main resort phone number and ask to be transferred) and explain what's happened. They're the ones making the cake, and although they don't like taking MK cake orders directly, you're in a tight spot right now with no communication and an email and phone number that aren't getting you anywhere. Good luck!:thumbsup2

I ended up calling and leaving a voicemail. I received a return phone call & placed my order over the phone. Their email box is full which is why I couldn't send my email. Feeling a lot better now that my order is in. Thanks for responding :-)

Gah. Are emails bouncing back? It was only a passing thought, not required. This is what I get for thinking of last-minute treats while there...

Try calling! Trip 2 Disney got a call back, so hopefully they can help you too! :goodvibes

How long did it take for you to get a call back? I was inquiring about a cake for Tuesday. we had been emailing back and forth, and then I just kept getting bouncebacks. I've called, but haven't gotten a return yet. Just wondered how long before they called you back...

Thanks!

Do they make tree nut free cakes?

We have always found wdw very accommodating with allergies. I would contact the bakery you are interested in getting a cake from (whatever the appropriate contact info is should be on page 1 of this thread) and ask your specific question to them. We heard back from Disney very quickly wrt an allergy on our last trip

The contemporary was very good with my daughters nut allergy. Animal kingdom lodge wouldn't touch us with a ten pole. Babycakes provides allergy cakes resort wide.

Surprisingly under an hour. I was previously in contact with a member by email and asked for this person to call me back. She was very helpful!

Has anyone had any experience with ordering a cake from POFQ? Best friend and I just planned a spur of the moment trip for March 3rd. We're calling it her 50th birthday trip. :) Thanks for any information you can give me!

I have a tea time at GF tea room for 3/21. We will be celebrating my 40th. Just the 4 of us. What options do I have for a small cake. I like the mini two tiered, the white chocolate castle, and the Cinderella slipper. Any of these would work since we are eating sweets there. Any advice on when to call & pricing options? Thanks!

Has anyone gotten really nice cakes from the BoardWalk? I see the GF and the Contemporary are really top notch with their cakes.......I could always do the Contemporary, but I was thinking about having a cake at POFQ so getting it from BoardWalk, but I haven't seen too many really fancy cakes, which is what I want....anyone have any luck getting a nice cake from them?
Also, I see you order through POFQ, would it be possible to get an email for the BoardWalk so I can send pictures to show what I want?

Thanks!

I'm curious about the same. Does a cake get delivered to POFQ or is it picked up at the resort. Hoping to hear a response. Good luck!!! :)

I believe you can pick up the cake at BoardWalk, but they also deliver it to POFQ and you pick it up at their food court. Hopefully someone can give a definite answer though, but I think I was told this before lol. Thanks and good luck as well!

This past August I special ordered a cirucus themed cake (about two months in advance) for my kids from the Boardwalk bakery and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. They basically put a stark white piece of fondant over the cake and cut out red and yellow triangles and put them along the bottom...last they put a Dumbo screen printed solid chocolate on top, that was it. It honestly looked like I could've done it myself. They didn't do anything spectacular or stand out and for almost $90 for an eight inch cake I thought they could've done better. Also the cake itself was a weird texture, sort of 'wet' and the filling was peanut butter and was the best part. The Boardwalk bakery has so many delilcious desserts that the next time we stay I think I'll just buy a bunch of desserts and share them with my family...we threw most of the cake away and I found it to be a waste of money. I'm sure most people might disagree with me, and maybe I just had a bad experience and it was an 'off' day...

How weird.......I'm looking into getting a Dumbo cake for my sister's birthday. I would definitely want more then what you got, I was thinking of giving them a price of at least 100.00 to work with and for that or just a little more, I wouldn't be too happy. I might just end up eating at one of the Contemporary resorts to get one from them on one of our Magic Kingdom days or just try really hard and get an email and send them pics of things I want.
Thanks for the response!

Hi

Quick question!

I am planning a surprise for my nieces and nephews on our upcoming trip. I am planning on ordering 4 cakes: 2 at DS, 1 at Epcot, and 1 at MK. I am planning on getting just the standard 8 inch w a screen print of there fav character. I want to know how much to budget for the cakes. If a 8 inch cake is 35.00 and no charge for the screen print, what is the ball park figure for taxes, delivery and tip? I would do 20% for tip as that is standard for me. I just want to know how much I need to set aside.

Also if I have a cake delivered to our suite at Art of Animation: will they deliver it on our check in day? Do I have to be in the room to accept the delivery?

Thanks again so much!
Stephanie

I'm looking to get a cake while we are there in March. We are booked with Memories wedding so I wanted to get a little cake for afterwards. I would like a two tier red velvet cake with the anniversary Mickey and Minnie. Would something like this be available at Animal Kingdom Lodge? Originally I was thinking of having it at BOG but decided it would be nice having it while sipping on some champagne with the new hubby:) Mainly it's the red velvet and the white chocolate figures I'm really interested doesn't have to be the two tier since it would just be the two of us at AKL. If I have it at BOG, there is 7 of us so I would have to get a bigger cake anyways. Thanks!!

no problem...not to be a downer, but I was disappointed and I just wanted to put my opinion out there. I'm sure others have had great experiences but I found when they really push those screen printed chocolate toppers they probably aren't going to do much more to the cake. I should've spoken up and said something but I didn't want to make a big deal about it in front of my kids...I asked for clowns and balloons and 'lots of color' to be put on the cake and there was NONE of that...I had them pipe on the cake 'to my little clowns' and it made NO SENSE because they didn't pipe on clowns so my kids were like 'huh?' It was like they forgot my cake and was like oh crud throw some triangles on it and bring it up. Like I said, I've seen other cakes that were nice but just because you ask for it doesn't mean they will do it, they did nothing of what I asked...and I also bought my own cake topper and asked if I could drop it off and they could decorate around it and I was told 'no because of sanitary reasons'...but don't brides bring cake toppers for their wedding cakes? Just bizarre...I hope you have better luck with your cake!:)
