Does the Grand Floridian still share bus transportation with the Polynesian? It seems that they did at one time. If so, do you know which resort gets picked up first?

Even first thing in the morning?
I don’t rope drop but do try to get out early. I don’t remember there ever being a separate bus. Because I use a scooter, boarding is more complicated with passengers already on board and I’m also concerned the handicapped spaces will already be full. Haven’t had any issues but it is a worry.

We stayed at GF in summer of 2024 and we always rope drop and we always shared a bus. The bus had always already stopped at Poly, so getting seats was not always a guarantee even if we were first at our stop.

My mom had a scooter and it def. caused a bit more stress and 1 time we had to wait for another bus because the 1st was so full they couldn't/wouldn't get the scooter on.

Darn! Since I use an ECV, I don't like being at the second stop. Frankly, I wish I'd chosen to stay at the Poly now.
I'm sure it'll work out fine and it wasn't terrible, but was definitely a negative to us for staying at GF. Glad we tried it once, but don't think we'll be back.

There is a sidewalk path between the Poly and GF. You could take that to the Poly stop or do the monorail loop over
Honestly, I don’t think it’s worth burning your battery scooting over to the Poly on the chance you might have bus issues at GF. I actually have stayed at GF fairly frequently since I own at GFV and the bus drivers seem to make it work… even with the ECV.

And I have to say being able to “scoot” on the walking path back and forth to MK definitely is a real advantage… especially after a late night party!

It is very common at opening time to have the first stop load 2 ECV’s and the second stop have to wait multiple times.

This sounds annoying! I would think there would be enough guests for both resorts to have their own buses in the morning and evening. I could see sharing in the slower times.

Heading to GF in 3 weeks and there are very few rooms left at both resorts. I would hope they have flexibility and insight to adjust based on crowds.

This is one of the reasons we chose Poly over Grand Floridian for our April trip. I hate it when I have to load or unload with an already crowded bus. We were are Coronado in the tower February. Its the last of 4 bus stops. We walked /scooted across the resort every morning to get on at the first stop. Many times the bus didn't even stop at the tower because it was full. Coming back in the evenings was fine as we were last except a couple of times when they reversed the order and stopped at the tower first. I hated that they made everyone standing get off to unload me.

That is ridiculous! For the price you pay at the GF and Poly to have to share a bus is stupid. I went in 2015 and stayed at GF and I don't remember having to share a bus with Poly. Disney needs to stop being so cheap!

:offtopic: Just back from a GDT stay. First thing in the morning tower has a mix of shared and separate buses depending on crowds. 3/5 mornings the bus arrived empty so it was only for tower guests. That was a very nice change to see. Tower is the first drop off if you're returning from DS.
