For those of you (if any) that have had the royal highness package at CRT, how many people will the cake feed (in general). Also I figure the top of the princess is plastic (like a Barbie) and is most likely only waist up, what about the Ariel one? Is she completely plastic? Want to get this for DD next year but we may have 7-10 people at the meal.

Going to Disney and celebrating my son's 3rd birthday on 9/24. When should i place cake order?
Thanks!
Rachael

I am very impressed with the response time, I placed my order yesterday and I had an email confirmation today with my order. Can't wait for Saturday night!

Hello,

hope you can help me....i'm sure the answer is somewhere in this 'Cake' thread but so much to read. LOL.

I'm having dinner at Narcoossee's in November for our 25th Anniversary with a party of 11. I have designed the cake that i wish to have. Im looking at a 6 - 8 inch cake. Where do i send my design to or who do i call? How far in advance do i need order it?

Thanks a bunch!!

If I put in an order for a mini cake or a 6inch cake at Magic Kingdom but are not eating at any TS meals there, where would I pick it up?? Or do I have to have a TS ressie to get one from there?? We will be at CSR so there wont be a delivery, and I would like to just pick one up, just not sure where?

They're all plastic. If you check out the post where the package info is listed, you can see how many people the various cake sizes feed. The package comes with a 6-inch cake that Disney says feeds 5-7. I think they feed more cuz we've always had a ton of leftovers. The post describes the cost of bigger cakes and how many they feed. :thumbsup2

I'd say no earlier than 3 weeks ahead and no later than 3 days.

You need to call Private Dining at the Grand Floridian. The number is in Post #2. Once you start working with the contact there, you can email in your photo. They will tell you that you need an 8-inch cake for that many people. I'd call 3 or 4 weeks out so you have time to send in the design.

CSR does deliver cakes, just not Disney cakes. I posted some photos and info about this above. :thumbsup2 If you want a Disney cake in the MK, you have to be dining at one of the restaurants.

The only Disney bakery that lets you pick up a cake is BoardWalk Bakery, although some people have been able to pick up cakes at restaurants at the GF and the Contemporary by working with Private Dining there. I've just never heard of anyone picking one up at the MK.

:thanks:

You are awesome!! Looks like I will have to contact CSR and see what they have available to be delivered or made. Its not a big deal since she is older, and we are going for F&WF, but we are skimping on her Bday for the upcoming trip, so it would be nice to have a little something. :goodvibes

Does anyone know what the podium cake looks like at either Garden Grill or Boma?

There will only be 3 of us and the 6 inch podium cake is big enough. But I have noticed that some restaurants have the podium cakes with a Mickey Mouse circular decoration on top and some do not. I want to make sure we get MM on the top and we have pretty much narrowed down the meal to Garden Grill or Boma.

Has anyone gotten a podium cake at either? What did it look like?

Thanks!

My daughter will be celebrating her 1st birthday in November with dinner at Chef Mickeys. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Chef Brian?

Go to the front page of this thread, in the first couple of posts and the numbers for each resort and what is available are listed. You'll have to call Contemporary Private Dining.

How do I order one for yak and yeti

Look at the front page of this thread. Looks like Y&Y only has the standard cakes available. Call the number given.

You'd have to run them by the pastry team at the Beach Club to see if they can do something similar, but one of these would be cute...

Thanks Lurkyloo, those are precious. Any idea how much the bucket or chest are, so cute

best cake fillings for Vanilla (yellow cake) or marble. Has anyone had the marble? how chocolatey is it?

Right now I have a marble cake with white chocolate mousse filling booked. I wish I could do 2 layers of filling and do white chocolate and milk chocolate, but I think an extra $10 for that is a bit much. I am thinking of changing so I would love to hear some recommendations. Do they not do the cookies and cream filling any more I guess.

Our wedding cake made by the Grand Floridian bakery was chocolate cake with peanut butter cup mousse on the lower level and the top tier was marble with vanilla buttercream. My husband is a chocolate peanut butter lover, and even he liked the marble with buttercream better! I personally love Disney's marble cake (I have food allergies now and can no longer eat it). Pre-allergy, my favorite cupcake was the marble one at Starring Rolls in DHS.

So now I sit waiting to hear from Contmp. bakery. I wrote to Brian last night. Here's what I am looking for:
1. A two tier mini wedding cake covered in fondant with silver Mickey heads stamped on it. It's our 25th anniversary. Chocolate cake raspberry mousse filling.
2. A 6" fondant covered cake with a Donald Duck theme with a white chocolate Donald on top. Yellow cake with chocolate ganache. Its for both of our sons' birthdays they will be 24 and 18.
Brian replied this morning that the quotes are $55 and $100 respectively. I called to place the order this am. We are having them for our ADR at Artist Point next Tuesday. I hope I hear from then soon.

Sounds great! Make sure you post some pictures when you get back! :thumbsup2

We've got 2...maybe 3...cakes in the works for our trip next month. The big cake is my belated 40th bday cake and I've been wracking my brain over the last month to come up with a good flavor combo.

The orange cake flavor could be interesting- possibly with dark chocolate mousse and cream cheese, but has anyone tried the orange cake? Or maybe tropical mousse and cream cheese for a lighter flavor profile. Has anyone tried it?

I have to call in the next week or so and order a cake for my DH's Birthday too! I want to do almond cake with the tropical mousse filling or passion fruit filling and when I called a few months ago Pat from GF told me that there is a really good chance I could not get that cake or filling. She said it depends on if a wedding would be having those flavors. Just thought I would let you know that depend on who is doing the cake for you, you might not be able to get certain flavors.

We've actually had the passion fruit before...and it's VERY YUMMY :thumbsup2 However, we also usually only order cakes through the Contemporary. The one time I worked with Pat, she tried to pull the whole flavor thing ... it took some back and forth, but we wound up getting what we wanted. Still, it was a very frustrating process.
