Thanks for posting, I really like the look of the light underneath the castle.

Was the castle like the normal chocolate castles only with a light? I was thinking it may have been one of those light up cubes they do in the drinks at Disney?

Did you ask for it specifically to have the light, I may have to get one of those for my daughters birthday if they can do it in pink/purple (she's a typical girly girl :) )

I wonder how much they charge for just the castle with the light, hmmmm.

Nevermind I got it :thumbsup2

Super Cute! I might have to see if GF can do something like the Mickey cake. Also I saw the Minnie cake you have in your PB. Where was that cake made? What size was that? Cost too would be great! Thank you again for sharing. I just love seeing pictures.

:thumbsup2

The mini castle cake was the standard Grand Floridian cake
It was actually an LED light under the castle and the are included in all the castle cakes! But at $30.00 I would get her the cake with the castle!

The Minnie Cake was done by Chek Mickeys!
It was $77.00
They were all 10 inch cakes. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and we were stilll able to bring some home.

I need a train cake for my 5 year old nephew at the end of May. He love Thomas the Train. Any suggestions?

Wow that seems like a great deal for a 10 inch cake. Did you just get the standard flavors? GF wants to charge me that for a 6inch cake with frosting and no fondant.

Hey Lurkyloo
We are going for Star Wars weekend in June and of course we are going to get a cake but we are not celebrating anything..... Well maybe it could be for our summer vacation :worship: Staying at Sarasoata any ideas on what kind of cake to get.

Wow! I was quoted over $100 for an 8" pirate themes cake to go to Chef Mickeys. You got a great deal!!

I'm not sure Disney can do cakes with non-Disney licensed characters on them, so you might have to go through Publix or one of the non-Disney restaurants at Downtown Disney for that (if they'll even do a cake for you). You might be able to get one of the non-Disney-owned restaurants at Epcot to do a Thomas the Tank Engine screen print for you. These are listed below the general Epcot cake info on this page: http://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/by-location/#epcot

How about a Star Wars cake? :teeth: If it were me, I'd go for something more impressionistic than literal, like a black cake covered with red designs like the ones on Darth Maul. But you could also do a simple buttercream cake with a screen print of your family's favorite characters, or the logo or something. I think there's a lot of potential in the Star Wars universe...

Anyone have any ideas for a Bambi cake? Were going for my sisters birthday this year and she absolutely loves Bambi. Anyone have any ideas theme/decorations for a Bambi cake?
Thanks

Lurkyloo posted a cake some time ago where the top involved penguins, snow & ice. I think it might be cute to take the snow and ice aspect of that cake and have an edible 2D standup image of Bambi in the ice scene. They could probably build up fondant or buttercream around the ice area to form snow banks...add in a few trees sans leaves and maybe even another 2d standup of Thumpers sitting on the ice and laughing.

That is actually a really cute idea. I only had ideas that would be a forest theme with grass, so i'm excited this is a cute winter theme. Thank you so much for the idea, I may just use this one instead of a grassy type theme. Thanks!

Lurkyloo, what size was this cake and what did the price come out to be around?
Thanks!

The boardwalk bakery could probably do something nice like this if I give them the pic and ideas right? I know the Contemporary and GF are really the top two for making such nice cakes, but heard the boardwalk bakery does nice cakes too.

It was an 8-inch cake, and the price was $100 plus tax. I got it at the Contemporary, which seems to have slightly lower prices than other Disney bakeries, so I would count on getting a higher estimate from the BoardWalk. But I'm sure they can do something nice for you, especially if you send in pictures. :thumbsup2

Thank you, I was putting aside 100, so around that would be good. I'll see what they say when I call and send in pics. Thanks!
