That cake is Awesome! I would love that but with Ariel on top for DD's Birthday. The problem is that she wants to eat at Teppan Edo instead of Coral Reef! Ugh!!!

Price: $51 quoted, but the restaurant only charged me $21
Date Received: 5/11, day before Mother's Day
Location: Garden View Tea Room in the Grand Floridian
Cake info: Vanilla buttercream and cake with dark chocolate mousse filling

So this is the cake I ordered for my mom as a surprise for the tea I took her to for Mother's Day.

It wasn't at all the design I wanted. The only thing that transferred over was the cameo (kind of) and the white icing. The design was all off, but it came out beautifully anyway and my mom loved it. It was vanilla buttercream, vanilla cake, dark chocolate mousse filling and it was DELICIOUS, which is the most important part. I was very happy with it overall!

And for some reason, they charged me $21 at the restaurant for the cake instead of the $51 I was quoted. Oh well!

Thanks guys, we enjoyed it :)

Both the cameo and the flowers are lovely. I'm glad your mom liked it, and wow to that price! Just out of curiosity, what sort of design did you want?

The cameo was supposed to be down flat on the cake and it should've had red and white rose details for flowers. Pat wasn't that great at getting back to me and it took a lot just to confirm the cake had even been ordered, so I'm just happy we got it lol

Date Received: 4/09/2013
Location: Cinderella's Royal Table
Occasion: Celebrating my Daughter's 5th Birthday
Cake Flavors: Chocolate with Chocolate Mousse
Ordered from: Contemporary
Theme: Sofia the First
Price: $75 plus tip

I ordered a 6" cake from the Contemporary with a Sofia the First theme.
I had a little trouble at first trying to order this because I was told by Brian that they wouldn't be able to accommodate my requests. I think the problem may have been that I emailed too early, or my overly enthusiastic tone in the email.

Someone suggested emailing again and I ended up getting someone different (not Brian) over the weekend that said they would be able to work with me. I don't know who ended up making it, but I was just happy that they could.

I requested a 6" cake with a Sofia the First Theme. Also asked if they could make the cake look like the dress - Light Purple with pearl accents.

Basically, what I wanted was a cake similar to the Royal Package Cake but with Sofia the First instead of the other princess that are offered.

What we received was really beautiful! My daughter was so surprised and so was my husband! The cake was delicious! I only wish I had more pictures of it. After our server brought it out and we sang happy birthday, he quickly disassembled it and served us slices. We had a lot of cake left over which he packed in a box and we brought back to our room.

Overall, I was very pleased at the outcome of the cake. The flowers were edible and so lovely. My daughter enjoyed the white chocolate lolly that had Sofia printed on it and a little amulet. Just amazing! I would order a cake again.

So excited to see the cake - Please excuse the cotton candy hair weave. I gave in because it was her birthday. lol

The details are just lovely - a little smudged from the server's knife but still lovely.

The bow on the back was chocolate.

What a pretty cake! I love the detail at the bottom of her dress. Thanks for sharing such detailed info and photos! :thumbsup2

Love the cake! Great design. And, I really love the 'cotton candy' hair and even more so as you let her pick out her own hair style! As it was all about her!

So DH and I were engaged at Alfredo's at Epcot back in 2004 and at that time, they had a dessert brought out that was absolutely beautiful with a swan cream puff and some sort of mousse cake thing with a quote written in chocolate on the plate. I have a picture somewhere. If I can find it, wou,d it be possible to have it recreated and delivered on our anniversary to Via Napoli? If so, who would I contact? Thanks!

I would say it's an extremely long shot, since a completely different company runs the restaurants in Italy now, and they only offer about 4 standard cake options. However, there's always a chance you could get someone who really makes an effort to create some pixie dust for you, so I say call the number for Via Napoli/Tutto Italia listed under "Epcot" in Post #2. :thumbsup2

It seems from reading it is getting a little more difficult to get certain character/themes from Brian and Pat (maybe this isn't true and I am just reading too much into things). I fell in love with the Snow White apple cake from this thread and was hoping to get Brian to do something like that for our welcome dinner at Chef Mickey's.

1. I have Brian's email from the last trip, do you think it is OK to email him without calling first?

2. Do you think getting a Snow White themed cake will be an issue?

3. I think I also want to get a cake for tea at the Tea Room, is that an issue? I know that will go through Pat.

I got a cake for the tea room the day before Mother's Day. A few posts back I posted a picture and some info. There was no issue getting a cake delivered there :)

Yeah, you're fine on all counts. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! Email sent to Brian and I will call tomorrow on how to get in touch with Pat. I am hoping she can do something pink and princessy since it is for a group of friends I am meeting up with for tea!

Does anyone know the flavor of the cake from the princess tea party? Had this cake a year ago and my daughter loved it. Would like to order it for her birthday celebration.

No pics yet as I'm not sure how to load them, but we had my gluten free anniversary cake and MILs surprise Cinderella Slipper cake delivered to the Plaza today and they were absolutely incredible. I ordered the cakes through the Cake Hotline/email and was a little concerned I should have contacted a chef directly but it turned out fine. In fact, without asking for him it looks like Brian from the Contemporary made both cakes. The Cinderella cake is gorgeous and can't wait to share pics. So tall I couldn't believe it and beautiful gum paste flowers all over it with the white chocolate slipper.

And best of all both were delicious! Well to be honest it isn't the best GF cake but the buttercream had everyone talking about how incredibly smooth and fluffy it was and tasted great. Even DH said it was one of the better cakes we've ever had.

Now the overall Plaza experience was not so pleasant but the cake had me smiling the whole rest of the day! And I just sat here winding down finishing up my mini cake with a cup of milk before bed. Perfect way to end the night for me.

Thanks for sharing all of your lovely cakes for inspiration!
