I called Private Dining this morning for BC and now I am debating. We are going to celebrate my 40th Birthday and our 10th Anniversary and there will be 5 of us. My options are 5 Chocolate Covered Strawberries for $25 (or $50 with a White Chocolate Donald Duck) or a Marble 10 in cake with Fruit Mousse filling and Chocolate Ganache for $45. I am leaning towards the cake, but was wondering what the fruit mousse taste like? (what is the flavor)
I actually just got off the phone with Yacht Club Private Dining (BC & YC share I heard) and I asked what flavor the fruit mousse was...he said he believes it's strawberry. Hope that helps!

Maybe I have missed it somewhere in the thread but can anyone tell me if I can order a cake and pay for it ahead of time? We're making a visit soon that will be my daughter's first trip and also covers my wife's birthday so I'd like to surprise them both with a cake on our first night there at dinner. (Just don't want the wife to catch a whiff of the bill...my treat)
Shameless bumping of this question as I was curious too. We put in our CC# to Private Dining, but haven't finalized a price quote yet and was wondering if they will charge beforehand or charge the day we receive the cake. I would have imagined that they would add it to our bill for the Yachtsmen Steakhouse since we will be paying a tip on it as well?

You pay for the cake, along side your dining bill. It will actually be on a seperate check with an additional gratuity charge added to it.
If you ask for a celebration cupcake they will bring this out.. free of charge =) We received ours at 1900 Park Fare at the GF and my mom got the same thing but with purple icing at CRT in MK. My friend just returned and got the same cupcake at Chef Mickeys.

They also have the mini surprise celebration cakes that cost $15 that you can order ahead of time or at the podium when you check in.
I originally ordered this for my daughter but we had late dinner ressies and by the time it was ready for her cake, they were out of them. So she was brought out the cupcake above with light up tink and buzz light year lol.

Who delivers to Cape May?

Do they make anything that you request? Disney wise? My nephew loves TRON and I wonder if they could do something like this. Is it best to just call and find out?
I see some amazing cakes on here but worry that if I did something like this it may go wrong! Lol
How do you order these in advance?
We are celebrating our son's 2nd birthday at the Cape May Cafe in 2 weeks. Will I be able to order the piped Mickey head cake? He loved the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show - so I think this is a good choice - although it serves 12 and there will only be 3 of us. LOL.
Also, do they supply birthday candles?
OK, I called the Grand Floridian to find out if they allow you to bring in a cake from the outside or if you HAVE to order one of their cakes. They told me that they will allow you to bring a cake in, but they will charge you a $25.00 cutting fee. Ouch, but I understand why. They reeeeeaaaaalllllly want you to purchase one of their cakes.
Many Disney restaurants have this policy (some places only charge $2.50/person, though), but I would be verrrrrry surprised if your server actually charged you the feeespecially if you cut and served the cake yourself.
