Yes, but I'll post it again, along with the "rules" that apply at almost all Disney restaurants/resorts:

- 6-inch and 8-inch standard cakes are all-chocolate or all-vanilla only

- 10-inch standard cakes get you more flavor choices—usually vanilla, chocolate or marble cake filled with vanilla buttercream, chocolate buttercream, white chocolate mousse, dark chocolate mousse, strawberry mousse, or raspberry mousse and covered in vanilla or chocolate buttercream or whipped cream

- Custom cakes come in a variety of flavors that varies by resort; not every bakery can do every flavor.

Here is a list of flavors available at the Grand Floridian ONLY. You can use it as a starting point when working with other bakeries to see if they can do similar flavors:

Cake Flavors
Yellow
Chocolate
Marble
Carrot
Red Velvet
Lemon
Orange
Almond

Filling Flavors
White Chocolate Mousse
Dark Chocolate Mousse
Milk Chocolate Mousse
Raspberry Mousse
Orange Mousse
Amaretto Mousse
Strawberry Mousse
Passion Fruit Mousse
German Chocolate
Buttercream
Cream Cheese
Peanut Butter
Peanut Butter Cup (chocolate and peanut butter mousses layered together)
Bavarian Cream
Bailey's Mousse
Blackberry Mousse
Mocha Mousse
Fresh Strawberries
Fresh Raspberries
White Chocolate Mousse with Fresh Strawberries
Bavarian Cream with Fresh Strawberries
Passion Fruit Mousse with Fresh Raspberries
Dark Chocolate Mousse with Fresh Raspberries
Strawberry Mousse with Fresh Strawberries
Raspberry Mousse with Fresh Raspberries

I figured I'd post my wedding cake made by the GF bakery for my DFTW. I will be back next month and have ordered a 6in square replica (buttercream outside instead of fondant though) from the GF bakery for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare... hopefully it will look something like this

I'm so glad to be able to help! I spent all of last week calling every single restaurant on property to research cakes for a Disney Food Blog article I'm writing, and it's nice to finally have the definitive info straight from Disney to share here. :thumbsup2

I have been reading through this thread, seeing different things and getting ideas. I have a couple of questions before I call the Cake Hotline.

First if it is possible I would need the cake for dinner at CRT on Tuesday, April 26...do I still have enough time to order something?

Second I am looking for something similar to the cake pictured below that I saw here on the thread. I would like it if possible to be a little smaller and minus the castle piece standing up. I would like to be flat with the fireworks/mickey heads on the sides to continue up onto the top of the cake.

I know I only have a few days to work with, but was just able to finally get the reservation at CRT today after trying for what seems like forever. If anyone here could please let me know what they think...

Yes you probably could. The minimum is two days. You need to call contemporary private dining tomorrow morning.

I have 400.00 in Disney Gift cards coming. I was wondering if it is possible to pay for the cake using it? :confused3 Thanks!!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. Now the hard part. We are celebrating our daughter's High School graduation. She is a big Mad Hatter fan, so we always have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Not a big fan of fondate cakes because many people say they are dry.

Have to decide on White chocolate mouse and fresh strawberry filling or Bavarian Cream with fresh strawberry filling. :confused3

Any sugestion appreaciated. Thanks so much for any help you can give.;)

I just reached out to Brian at the CRT to see what he can do for our trip next month -I will be interested to see what he can come up with!

lurkyloo: I would LOVE:lovestruc to read your food blog especially on WDW cakes!!! Can you possibly post the link here or PM me with it??? :surfweb:

Sure! I'll let you know when it goes up on the Disney Food Blog, but I will also post all the info here once it has debuted there. :thumbsup2

Hi! We are going the end of May, and my dd10 is turning 11. We'll be having her birthday dinner at Kona, and I wondered about getting JUST the topper of the castle (no cake preferred) for her, is this possible? Do I need to talk to Pat regarding? Also, is it possible to gt the mini castle cake at Kona for her? We are staying at WL and I don't really need the cake, but would be willing to do the little one for her birthday, if possible.

2 years ago my DH graduated with his MBA. We celebrated at WDW and ordered a cake (surprise) for him to be delivered to Artist Point. It was a combo graduation/fathers day gift.

It was a white cake and I had ordered the white chocolate mousse filling but ended up with the Bavarian creme. It tasted really good and while we like it - it made the whole cake just "feel" heavy if that makes sense.

We didn't do fondant we went with white buttercream. Here is a photo of the cake

If I remember correctly it was about 80.00 two years ago. Three layers white cake with bavarian creme filling (supposed to be white chocolate mousse) with vanilla buttercreme instead of fondant.

This year we are going again in June and I have been emailing back and forth with Brian at the Contemporary to get another graduation cake for our youngest daughter who graduates on June 2nd. It will again be a surprise and delivered at the end of our meal on our first night at Chef Mickeys. I am combining the graduation theme with a ballet theme. She has been dancing for 15 years and plans to continue in college. Brian has been WONDERFUL. I ordered a white cake again with the white chocolate mousse filling and white buttercream but this cake will have a teal color fondant, white chocolate graduation cake (she hates regular chocolate) a pink ballet pointe (toe) shoe, pink, white and yellow flowers, edible glitter, hidden mickeys and a scroll that says "congratulations Emily, class of 2011". The price quoted to me was 135.00 VERY happy with that price. We have paid more for less decorated cakes here in the town we live in.

We have our dinner at CM on June 13th. I will post a pic of the cake as soon as I can after that date.

well that didn't work - the photo that is. I will keep trying

OK got it

again - this was a 10 inch cake, white cake, not sure now if it was white chocolate or vanilla buttercream. For some reason I am thinking it was white chocolate. Bavarian creme filling but it was supposed to be white chocolate mousse - they messed up on that. And the total 2 years ago was 80.00

I'd like to get a cake for my mother's birthday and we are eating at Coral Reef that day. Anyone know what type of cakes can purchased for that location. Ideally I'd like a custom cake - a mad hatter type, or maybe one with a choclate minnie or tink on the top. I think the fondant cake pictures.

If I can't get one delivered to Coral Reef, are these available for pick up at boardwalk bakery?

Yes, you can buy the white chocolate castle cake topper by itself. It's $100 for the regular one and $200 for the ginormous one. Pat in GF Private Dining is the one to speak to for both the castle topper and the mini castle cake at Kona.

It is not possible to get an elaborate custom cake delivered to Coral Reef. You can special-order one to pick up at BoardWalk Bakery—I'd call about 2 weeks out to place the order.
