I want a 8" cake to have a character on it. But how do I specify the request? If you say you "want a character on the cake", will they just have an edible image of it? Do you have to specify if you want those thin white chocolate printed characters on your cake?

I have found the more detailed you are the better. So if that is what you want... then that is what I would say. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know how many people the Coral & Shells mini wedding cake serves and how much it costs? We're having an intimate DFTW (Memories) and would love to have this cake that evening.

Just sent an email 2 days ago to the contemporary about getting a custom made graduation cake to be delivered at Chef Mickeys.

For those of you who did the email thing - how long until you heard back from them?

2 days for me- I am also wanting to order a custom cake at Chef Mickey.

Do you HAVE to go through the Cake Hotline to order a cake? I heard others say they used pictures to order their cake... Is this with somebody at WDW or through email? And if you order a cake, do you tell them which restaurant you want the cake to be at? Do most restaurants in Epcot allow cakes?

TIA!

Can you get a cake in a different shape? Such as a heart? And Red Velvet at that. :cloud9:

It depends on where you're getting the cake from. Where do you want to have the cake?

I posted complete details on that cake, its price, and how many it feeds just a few pages back, here:

Do you get to do that for a 8" cake? Or is the 8" a NO customization at all?! Not looking forward to a 10" cake we won't finish/want to pay for!

It varies by bakery. Where do you intend to have the cake?

Check out the first post in this thread—it's a wonderful source of this kind of information. :goodvibes

Thanks so much, Lurkyloo! The cake will be perfect for us.:lovestruc

Hi, I have no idea where to begin with this, but I'm looking to order a cake.

My parents surprised me with my first trip to WDW this coming August as a grad present, and they are also celebrating their anniversary while we're there. I was hoping I could have a cake delivered to AK's Rainforest Cafe during our dinner reservation. The main problem is that I'd like to try and do it without them knowing, but I can't pay for anything until I'm actually there since I am 17 and don't have a credit card. I might be able to find someone to use one for me, but as of now, I've got nothing. I'm also 18 in June, so if I have to wait to call then I can.

Is there any way I can order a cake either in advance or on-the-spot and pay for it at Rainforest? If all I can get is a simple cake then all I'd like is "Happy Anniversary" written across it if possible.

I don't know if I'm able to request something like a Fantasia themed cake and still get it on-site. We only need a small one for a family of four, preferably under $60. Artistic freedom is cool as well. I can give plenty of notice, just no payment until I get there.

Can the cake experts help me out?

I called Rainforest Cafe at AK. Unfortunately, they do not offer any kind of cake, even "podium cakes" like the ones at Disney restaurants. They do have a free Safari Sundae for birthdays, and they encouraged me to order some kind of volcano dessert instead of cake.

One option would be to order a cake from Private Dining at your Disney resort, if applicable, and have it delivered to your room. Alternatively, you might be able to find a local bakery in Orlando that would be willing to deliver to Rainforest for you (the guy at Rainforest said they have no problem with people bringing in their own cakes). And of course there's always Publix, but that requires a car...

Hope this helps!

Awww, thank you!

I don't think my resort is, I'm staying at All Star Movies (as far as I know. I am suspicious that we might be moving up to AKL since I already spoiled the initial surprise of the trip )

I'll have a look around and see what I can find. Worst comes to worst, I'll buy them a Volcano, which is delicious anyway. Or perhaps the Cruise Line offers something? I'll have a look.

Thanks again!

Hi I wanted to order a smaller verison of our wedding cake from the GF whats the number for the private dining? I wanted it to look just like our cake just only one tier.

Does anyone know how much it would be?

Beautiful cake! As far as the price... I don't think any of us on here could quote you on what we think it would cost. It all depends on the size, the detail, and the person you talk to. It could be any where from $75-$300. :confused3 The best way to find out is to call. :thumbsup2

You need to call contemporary to deliver I believe.

Just one. The cake in the treasure chest is really small.

So is it best to call the Contemporary or email them? I do have a pix of one I really like...although it's too big for just the 6 of us. Can they do the Mad Hatter in a different sizes or is it only one size?

Call.

And i have no idea! I'd just call and see what they can do.

Great resources!:goodvibes Thank you all so much! I cannot find the number for the Grand Floridian Private Dining to order a custom cake. Does anyone have the number available? Thank you!

We have an ADR there on our anniversary night and I know that they do specialty cake orders but I haven't found any info on them anywhere. Has anyone here ever ordered a cake there or know anything about what they offer? I was hoping someone here would have some info but I may just have to call them. :)

Do they offer cakes at DTD? If so, are they good/nice looking? Do they get it from a special bakery within the resort?

Soon I will be posting pictures of the custom cake that was a surprise for my DM's 75th BDay. It turned out GREAT! I wasn't there...12 hours away, but everything went off without a hitch! My DM, who is an accomplished baker herself, said it was the best cake she has ever had. It was also an allergy cake...no eggs, soy, or peanut/tree nuts!

I will post pictures and review the taste next week as they are freezing pieces to bring back home so I can taste it! :):thumbsup2
