So I talked to Pat today at the GF to order the Anniversary cake for my parents. We will be there in April and eating at 1900 Park Fare for dinner.
I told her I wanted to order the Mickey Delight - 6 in. She told me it would be $90!!! I told her that I thought it was cheaper than that...she said no that it was a four layer cake - very tall!
So I told her I wanted something more on the custom side but not that expensive. She said she could do a 6" cake with either chocolate or vanilla cake - it would be two layers - frosted w/ buttercream (choc or van) and there were about five choices of fillings - custard w/ strawberries being one of them for $5 extra! I ended up ordering a 6" chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream with the custard and strawberries. She said there would be a Mickey/Minnie chocolate anniversary topper and the banner will read "Almost Golden" since their 50th anniversary is a few months after our trip. She said the cake would be two layers. Does this sound right to you all?
Thanks for the help!
Debbie

seems a bit high to me....I ordered a 10" cake today from Brian at the CR for $75.00...will have buttercream frosting, strawberry creme filling and a Goofy printed image....but your's might be more because of the fancier topping!

will say emailed Brian yesterday afternoon and he responded this morning, so great customer service from him....called the order line, very friendly CM took order with no problems!!! can't wait to see the surprise on my DD and Friends face when they deliver it!

I ended up going with a bakery in Kissimee for my cakes because the Disney ones seemed so hit or miss. They were expensive, but worth every penny!

The Mike one is coconut cake with key lime filling, and the Wall-E one is red velvet with cream cheese filling.

I would love to get the Mike cake for DH. He turns 40 and his favorite is Monsters Inc.
Can I ask where it was from and the cost? You can PM me if that is easier.
Thanks
Heidi

Has anyone seen a Main Street Electrical Parade cake? I am looking for a relatively small cake but would :lovestruc to see one with this design.

i have seen it many times! lol
im sure that if you call the baker at the place you want the cake, then you can tell them exactly what you want.
when i called the cheif at the yacht and beach club i had no idea what i wanted. but i gave him a few ideas and he came up with an awesome cake!
:woohoo:

I seriously need to get the pics of the last cake I ordered up here :rotfl:

Were going back in July (11th wedding Anniversary this time) and our ADR's are @ 1900 Park Fare, I keep calling the cake hotline and they keep sending me to Pat's voice mail. I left a message this time with my email so hopefully I can email her the pics of the cake I'd like to have.

Haunted Mansion style yellow cake with baverian cream and strawberries.

The topper would definitely make a difference. The screen prints are the cheapest way to go for custom cakes.

July 15, 2010 @ O'hana , Polynesian Resort 10th Anniversary cake (DH unfortunately was in Colorado for training so he missed out)

It was chocolate cake with white butter cream filling. I believe it was $45. I asked for a Lilo and Stitch themed cake (to stick to the theme of the resturant)

I am bringing my sister in law to Disney for her birthday in April. we are having dinner at California Grill and we are on the deluxe dining plan. So we are getting dessert already and on top of that she is a diabetic. However I would like to order something special for her that isnt going to cost me an arm and a leg. Is is possible to get one of those chocolate statues or something like that? When i called the person I spoke to said the smallest case was a 6 inch adn they could NOT put anything on it other than writing. :( anyone have any ideas??? Thanks

Not sure if they could do this but you could get a white chocolate Mickey with chocolate covered strawberries but ask that the chocolate be sugar free if possible. I think it would run you around 50 dollars or so.

So Pat finally called me yesterday and quoted me over 100 dollars for a HM themed cake :scared1:. After thinking about it, I duno if I'm going to be able to get my DH to want to go to Disney again after this trip so I figured it's worth it. I emailed her the pics for ideas as to what I wanted and told her to go for it. It's going to cost me 180 dollars because I want the baverian cream with strawberries as a filling but DH is worth it! I requested that the ribbon have a refrence to our 11th Anniversary but still kept with the HM theme of the cake.

Love this thread!
My DH and I are going to WDW in September, and we'll be celebrating his birthday while there. His favorite thing in WDw is Soarin'. Has anyone ever seen a Soarin' themed cake? Also, do any of the bakeries deliver to 'Ohana or Kona Cafe'? Thanks!

They're charging you $80 extra just for the filling? :scared1: What's in Bavarian cream anyway, diamond dust? :rotfl:

The Grand Floridian Bakery delivers to restaurants at the Poly.

I asked Pat about it and told her I saw it quoted as $65 (and I pointed out that it might have been a few years ago) and she asked me where people were getting their quotes from. I know they charge an additional $5 for the strawberries in it. Maybe it's because it's a 10 inch cake? I can't wait to see what it turns out to look like though and hopefully they will get it just right.

I'm debating on getting a cake for our trip in 3 weeks now...I'm just not sure where I should get one at. We will be dining at Cali Grill, Narcoossee's and Jiko just to name a few. Does the AKL do cakes? Taste wise who has the best? I know I'm asking for opinions but they matter to me ;) TIA!

I dont think the AKL does cakes. Taste wise I am still guessing myself when I order. Now Mrs. Lurkyloo did a taste test but that was between the Sara Lee cakes served in Epcot and the MK (MK cakes won that one hands down).

I think there are more flavor/filling options at the Floridian's Bakery though.

If I'm getting a $77 cake make by Contemporary and delivered to CRT, how much will my total be? Does that $77 include tax and delivery?

OO n question I can answer!!! Yes the AKL does indeed do cakes!! We had one in 2009 and it was OMG AMAZING!! it tasted like a Zebra Dome in cake form!!! I asked for what would be their 'signature' cake I wish I could remember what I paid for it though sorry :(
