Here are pics of DS's Taekwondo cake. We had this on December 17th @ the Grand Floridian Cafe. I reminded them when we checked in that we had a special cake and the waiter was great about bringing it out and surprising DS with it after we had eaten dinner. I had ordered this from Pat about a month out. She quoted me $77 for a 6" yellow cake with custard & strawberry filling with a white chocolate photo on the top. I e-mailed her the photo I wanted used. When we got our bill, we were only charged $66. The cake was exactly as ordered and tasted great! DS was very surprised!

I was able to view it. Very creative on the Minnie bow. courtneylauren, do you have a Facebook account? You may have to be logged in to see it.

Thanks to both of you for posting your pics.

I see it now. I was trying to look from my phone so I guess it wouldn't let me.

Very cute cakes! And your daughter is adorable!

So excited I get to participate on this thread and not with just asking questions.

We stayed at OKW and when I called left a message. Finally 4 days later someone called back. She asked what I was looking for, which was more then they offer. I wanted one of the cool cakes with ganache but they said they only use frosting. So whatever I ran with it. I ordered a 10in, since thats all they would customize, chocolate cake with dark chocolate filling and chocolate buttercream. I asked that they decorate it for Christmas with Mickeys or whatever they could do. I was told it would start at $45 and it would be delivered to the room.

Well this is what we got.

They ended up charging $79 to the room for it. It was rather tastey!! It was very moist and oh so rich! We unfortunatly did not get to finish it. Way too many other goodies that week. The icing was awesome!!!

OH OH OH I am even more excited. I found a pic on my photo account of the cake I had delivered to our room at AKL. Its the zebra dome cake. I believe it was around $40 and totally delish. The amarula mouse is awesome!!!

Hi there, this is my first picture post since returning from our trip. I ordered a special cake for my DH and mines 21st anniversary about 3 weeks out. I called the Contemporary Private dining line and got Chef Brian's e-mail. I sent him my info, including pictures and he answered my e-mail within the hour. I also orderd a white chocolate Tinkerbell with chocolate covered strawberries. We recieved the cake at the end of of dinner at Cali Grill as requested. Our server Ron was fantasic and was just about excited about Brian's creation as we were. The cake was perfect and larger than I expected. To my knowledge there was no charge to slice our cake or pack it up.:goodvibes

I also ordered a cake from Pat for my DH's birthday at the GF cafe, but that one never happened. A special thanks to Lurkyloo whose vast knowledge of all things cake really helped make this possible:yay:Thank you so much Chef Brian for making our 21st something we will always remember.:goodvibes

I was looking through the pages on the cake chatter thread and saw a beautiful blue Wishes Cake that had fireworks, Cinderella Castle, and Tink on it. I didn't take note of the post number and I can't find it again! Does anyone recall that cake and know where I can find it without going through every single page?? Thanks!!

Is this the cake you were talking about?

Thanks for posting pix of your cake! I'm so glad it all worked out for you (except the GF cake, it sounds like—what's up with that?)

I'm not quite sure what happened.:confused3I ordered DH's cake and a slipper dessert from Pat. The slipper dessert for my DD was deilvered at 1900 Park Fare but DH's cake never showed. I could have persued it but he was so birthday'd out from our cruise on the Wonder and then in the parks the first couple of days. One more cake might have pushed him over the edge.:rotfl: So I didn't bother. One thing I did notice, especially at Park fare I could see a slip with our reservation on it that clearly stated "Special cake order", so if it is there, they know. Our server at Cali Grill was just too giddy about the whole thing so I knew our Anniversary cake was waiting in the wings.:goodvibes

:cool1: I just got off the phone with Chef Yolanda from the BW Bakery. I ordered our cake which I am going to pick up on 1/18. The smallest they would customize is 10 inches. While it's just DH and myself we are expecting some company as well (now I really hope they come up!).

It is going to be a 10 inch round vanilla cake with dark chocolate mousse filling, white buttercream, fondant, gold Mickey stamps, a white chocolate banner saying "Welcome to Disney", and a white chocolate Mickey topper.

She said the fondant was $30 and the topper $25. She quoted me about $100 + tax. She was very helpful and patient on the phone making suggestions. She was also just very nice!

I will post pics after our trip. Thank you to lurkyloo for answering my question about the email problem!

Hello all:goodvibes
I have been looking through this wonderful thread all morning!
I just really came up with the idea to order a cake this morning so this is the early planning stages for me.
We will be at Disney the first week of March to celebrate 3 birthdays. My husband, dd and ds all have a birthday within 5 days of one another.
So, I am thinking one cake to share. I haven't even thought of where we would have dinner that night so it would depend on where we get a reservation.
I would like something customized, and I am thinking a Haunted Mansion theme.

So I guess my initial question is where is best to order from, and where would be the best place to make a reservation. ( I realize I may not get what I want reservations wise at this late date, but I am not picky, we are thinking Captains Grill, or Grand Floridian Cafe or the Wave.. really doesn't matter much).

And lastly, when I order the cake do I pay right then with a credit card or when I pay my bill?

Any and all help is appreciated for this newbie to the world of Disney cakes:)

If you want a Hunated Mansion cake as amazing as the ones on this board, it needs to be from Chef Brian who is at the Contemporary, so you need to be at the Wave. We ate ate the Wave this past year and it's one of my new favorites!

I know people have different experiences, but when I ordered my cake this morning she did not ask for a credit card or anything.

Yes I think she is pretty cute too. Thanks- glad everyone was able to view the cakes. Hopefully the idea will help someone else out who might be having the same issue I was of making mickey into minnie.

Going to order a cake for my Daughter's 13th birthday. I've settled on a Haunted mansion themed cake. She loves that ride.

We are eating at O'hanas, nothing at the Contemporary...

Can I get the cake delivered from the Contemporary? And where do I need to call to order?

TIA!!!
