[.If you want a standard cake, just call the Cake Hotline listed on the front page and follow prompts for CRT. If you want a fancy cake, call Private Dining at the Contemporary and ask to speak with a pastry chef about options for making and delivering a cake to CRT.[/QUOTE]

thanks i want to get a fancy cake not a standard cake, thanks for your help x

Does anyone know if they do cookies (ala Cookies by Design)?? A big cake would be a waste for the 2 of us and DS would probably like this more. We are staying at the CR and would probably want it from there if that makes a difference. TIA!

I think by listening and sifting through all the posts, Brian would be my way to go for a cake at Chef Mickey's. Am I right? If so, does someone have his email? Sounds like that is the best way to get a hold of him. I think my son wants a CARS cake.

Thanks,
Becca

PS Favorite flavors anyone? I don't want a huge cake!

Ok I need help!
I called WL to order a cake she told me to call CR private dining to order and gave me a phone number. Well its a WRONG number! And I cant find one!
Helppppp!! anyone have the private dining number for CR?

Oh no! There is NO way that cake is worth $120. I can't believe they charged you that price and kept a straight face. That looks like a $10 grocery store cake to me. :sad2:

I'm so very sorry. :(

This cake looks like u got it from a grocery store and I am sorry for you. Pitiful

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this thread, and looking to take my first risk ( I have seen the good, bad and ugly on this thread and the gallery) at ordering a cake.

I want to go with the Mad hatter type cake. For our 1900 park Dinner Ressie.. so I should call Private Dining at the Grand Floridian right...but how soon in advance should I start working with Pat on the designs I really want something Spectacular as this is a once in the life time kinda thing....

My DD,DS,DH and myself are all celebrating birthdays within a few weeks (and mines a day before) our trip. Basically one in june 2 in July 1 in August... The kids have graciously giving up brithday parties this year so I want to do something very special for them and DH but I can not order more than one cake...so I was thinking about a family type theme for all of us ( The Incredibles maybe) or a Unisex theme for just the kids but have no idea what I could do..Can you offer up some ideas? Or tell me what you think of The Incredibles themed cake? How many do the typically say a Mad Hatter cake can feed? The 1900 dinner is on the 3rd day of our 16 night trip so we could quite well finish most of it at least.....

I think I need help and encouragement....

I think an Incredibles theme would be cool! :thumbsup2 When I was stumped for a Christmas cake design, I went to Flickr.com and searched on a couple of terms (Christmas, penguins, snow) + cake and got all sorts of great ideas. You might play around there.

The 2-tier Mad Hatter cake serves 50 people and the 3-tier serves 85.

Thanks so much for the response lurkyloo, I have been thinking about it and I am going to go with The Incredibles Theme.

How soon should I contact Pat, I have a few Ideas in mind from other great pic here and in the Cake Galleries and will try to incorporate a few....

I would say about 2 or 3 weeks out. You don't want your order to get lost in the shuffle, and they don't need a ton of time to pull off a great cake. :thumbsup2

Hey everyone!

New to the boards and this thread, so first off, hello = )

Secondly, I've been thinking about getting a cake delivered to our hotel room for the first night we are there. I've read most of the questions and responses and have some questions of my own. If I have missed the answers in another reply, my apologies!

I was wondering if you have a cake delivered to your room, do you have to be present? Also, when do you pay for it, when you order or when it's delivered? Lastly, can you set a delivery time, or no. We will be staying at the Contemporary in case that helps. = )

Thanks!

ohhh that would be a good idea.

i wonder if i could have that done to French Quarter.

Hi Everyone,

Finally posting my pictures from my 40th birthday cake last September...it looked fabulous. Taste was ok, but the look made up for it! ;)

Location: 1900 PF
Cake: Mad Hatter vanilla cake with strawberry filling, buttercream frosting, black fondant. I pretty much said I wanted a black, red and white cake, maybe with some bows or stars on it. Also wanted it somewhere to say "Happy 40th Tracy".
Cost: $120

One thing I did not know was that they brought the cake when the "celebration song" started and by then we were really stalling to stay there...people had even grabbed dessert already! :headache:

Here’s what finally came out:

I LOVED it…and took a million pictures of it, as there was so much to it. Here we go:

And while this was made by a friend for my 40th party at home, I thought it was still awesome and very Disney related. It was also FANTASTIC tasting!!!

Those cakes are AWESOME !!!! I love the black, white, red with the Minnie bow !!!! Happy 40th, I am right there with you !!! I wish I would have had a cake like that on my 40th B-Day !!! Congratulations !!! That is one of the best I have seen on this thread !!!:santa::santa::santa:

These cakes look amazing. We are going to be at WDW for DH's 30th birthday, and I'm thinking about getting him a cake. I have a couple of questions though. I want to do a specialty cake, is 8 inch the smallest we can get? It's just DH and I.

Also, we are doing a split stay. The first part of our stay is AKL, then we are moving to the Poly. DH's birthday is on Oct. 1 (so we will be at the Poly already), and we are leaving Oct 3.

Do you cake guru's recommend doing the cake early while we are at AKL (I saw a gorgeous Jack and Sally cake someone ordered at Jiko, and he loves NBC)
OR would you wait until his birthday and see if I could get the Contemporary to deliver a cake to the Poly (any idea how much extra this would cost)
OR since we are doing afternoon tea at the GF on his birthday, order one of Pat's fabulous cakes for him then?

I'm really at a loss here. I can plan every aspect of a Disney trip, but this is totally new to me. I'm worried about a very expensive cake going to waste, but I don't want his bday to be anti-climactic because the cake came early.
