cscea, do tell us more about this celebration cake. please :)

It's a wonderful cake consists of layers of sponge cake, cheesecake, strawberry filling, buttercream, and white chocolate ganache.

It is absolutely heavenly! :lovestruc
It's light, sweet but not too sweet, the strawberry adds to the brightness and the cheesecake, butter cream and white choc ganache makes it extremely buttery.... soooooo good.

I could probably eat a whole cake by myself if they make it a round one... :lmao:

Just back! Ordered a cake from CR bakery to be delivered to our WCC dinner. Asked for buttercream, 8 inch, Jessie & Bullseye western them. Was quoted $65, but ended up being $55, plus then used TiW on it.

Happy with the results. Taste, eh. Last trip had a cake from GF bakery, was equally unimpressed with the taste of the cake and icing from both bakeries. but at least now have gotten a cake for both kids so they're even, LOL, and won't be doing it again. Is fun getting them, and very glad we did, but big eh on the taste.

OMG that sounds absolutely wonderful. Now can you get this anywhere in DW?

I was following this tread regularly until I accidentally volunteered to be cookie mom for my daughters girl scout troop. For anyone who has ever done that before my respect and heart goes out to you. Anyway, now that cookies are finally over i am about a month away from my 15th anniversary trip and in desperate need of help. We are dining at "our restaurant" the Yachtsman the very first night of our trip and I want a custom cake for us. Can anyone give me a tutorial to how it goes? I have some pictures I saved from previous posters but How do I get to the right people to make our cake happen? This is my last surprise because DH allready discovered I was booking the Richard Petty thing and now he is making me do it with him. This is it for surprising him I think so help help help.

Does anyone have an idea what the dimensions are for the standard Escape two tier cake? We would like to get a replica cake for our local reception, and I wanted to try to make it to scale if possible.

Thanks!

The cakes are 10" with a 6" on top.

When I ordered one for our lunch at CRT last year, I called the cake hotline. I can't remember how far in advance I called - I think it was 2-4 weeks. I do not believe that you can request dark chocolate, but maybe that's changed. I was told ours would be white but we ended up getting dark. Enjoy!:goodvibes

Has anyone ordered a golf themed cake at Disney? We will be celebrating my hubbys 40th at WDW and would love to get him a Disney golf themed cake.

No, but I ordered a football cake for my DH from the Boardwalk Bakery, delivered to ESPN Club. This was a couple of years ago, but they told me it had to be a "Disney" cake, which was fine with me, so I asked for Mickey with a football. It was cute! I'm sure you could get a golf cake.

I am taking my older daughter on a special trip to celebrate her 20th birthday. This trip is different as the younger daughter can't go this time. We will be having tea at the GF, so I wanted to do something special for her. In the past, I've done the chocolate covered strawberries and the slipper, so I want something different. It's also just the two of us, so we don't need anything huge. Her favorite character is Ariel, but I also liked the mini mad hatter type cake. Does anyone know the cost on this, and does anyone have other suggestions? Thanks!

Thank you...that would be perfect!!! He has so many souvenirs with mickey playing golf!! A birthday cake with a golf playing Mickey would be sooo cute!!

Lurkyloo, I think you are the one that got the mini cake at the GF that they call a Mad Hatter cake without it actually being a "real" Mad Hatter cake. That is probably the perfect size for the two of us after tea. Can you tell me how you ordered this, what the cost was, and any other information I need to order it?

To get the one you want, you would call Private Dining at the Grand Floridian and speak with Pat, the cake lady. Ask her for a mini cake in the Mad Hatter style (rather than a 1-tier Mad Hatter cake, which is the "real" one and costs $100+). It shouldn't be more than about $30.

If you want a standard cake, just call the Cake Hotline listed on the front page and follow prompts for CRT. If you want a fancy cake, call Private Dining at the Contemporary and ask to speak with a pastry chef about options for making and delivering a cake to CRT.

I just called CR and they said they don't do that there. I am so confused with this cake stuff...do you think I should call back and try again...I really want my DD to have the castle on her cake.
Call back and tell then you want a custom cake and ask for the pastry chefs email!
