Well CRT isn't going to happen. So now I need to regroup. I think we are going to either do the afternoon Tea at GF or I have an ADR for 1900 PF. Either way it will be the GF bakery. So I can still opt for the chocolate slipper but now I have the option of the mini cake with the white chocolate castle right?

I need to ask DD some leading questions tonight to get an idea of which place she would prefer for her birthday. Its really hard to plan all this as a surprise. It would be so much easier if I could just ask her where would you rather eat at.

Yes. The GF does the mini castle cake.

Ok, so I am on migraine headache cake overload....If I call the cake line number, can I order a 6" cake to have it at Tony's Town Square restaurant? I want to order a cake to help 2 soon to be 18 year old girls celebrate their birthdays:) Thank you for any help you can give me.

I called last week for our trip in two weeks. Do I need to call and confirm, or should I just assume everything is ok?

(mini-castle cake delivered from CR to HDDR. Chocolate castle on top, but no other specifications.)

Does the size depend on where you order it from? I am taking my twins on an Illumination cruise for their 5th birthday and I was told I could order a cake from the YC 1 week prior to bring on board. Is my only option a 10 in cake? If so that is fine, I just don't think we will be able to finish it. I was hoping for a smaller one. My kids are really into SW and it is SW weekend, so I was going to ask if they can do that on the cake? I have seen a lot of Jedi Mickey cakes. Do you know if they can do a Luke and Leia cake instead? (I have b/g twins). Thank you!

Yes. If you're not picky and OK with a chocolate/chocolate or vanilla/vanilla cake covered in buttercream, just call the Cake Hotline. (And if you don't need it customized, you can just ask for one at the podium when you check in.) If you want something fancy, you need to call Private Dining at the Contemporary: 1-407-824-2955

I'd call a few days before just to doublecheck everything.

If you want a custom fondant cake, at YC/BC the smallest they will do is 10 inches (although a couple months ago I think someone here convinced them to do a smaller one...). They can do a Luke & Leia screen print, but there are no white chocolate figurines of these characters, if that's what you're after. (Technically, there's no Jedi Mickey figurine, either—the pastry chefs there just invented one by modifying a regular Mickey.)

Hi All!!

I am wondering if someone can help me! Last year I took my two daughters to the My Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Grand Floridian..worth EVERY penny!

Anyway, they serve a strawberry cake to everyone after the tea, and we have talked about that cake for a YEAR...I kid you not!!!

This year, we are planning to the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian, and I wondering if we could just order that cake to surprise my daughter with! I am perfectly fine ordering a larger cake...we will be returning to our villa afterwards, and the more leftovers for breakfast...the BETTER!!!

Is there any way to contact them directly? If anyone has the contact information, I would be ever so grateful!

THANKS!!!

Alicia

My sister is heading down to Disney World for her honeymoon in May and we were thinking about surprising her and her husband with a cake. Is it possible for me to order and pay for the cake from home since I won't be there to pay?

They have a reservation a Tony's and I was hoping to get one of the mini wedding cakes with either a small world or vintage Minnie/Mickey design. I am assuming from reading other posts that I would contact the Contemporary to order this, are they able to decorate the mini wedding cakes to different themes or are they made with flowers only?

I called today and ordered a mini cake with the white chocolate castle for our Tea at the GF on DD's birthday. I couldn't get in touch with Pat and since she doesn't work Sunday I called the private dining number and they placed the order for me. I asked if we could do it in purple and she said it was all white but she would ask. She came back and said they could do something on it purple. I told her I'd really like the frosting to be purple and she said she'd note it. So we'll see. I'm so excited though, DD is going to LOVE it!

The design you saw with flowers was a custom creation I requested. There really is no standard design for a mini cake, although you see the "Mickey's Delight" with tiny Mickey head dots a lot. You can work with the pastry chef at the Contemporary to determine what the mini cake will look like.

As for payment, you can try giving them your credit card and requesting to pay for it right then, but usually they only hold the card and then put the cost on the bill at dinner. You might want to check with your sister after the fact and make sure you don't need to reimburse her.

You may want to call back, if purple icing is important to you. I've never seen a customized mini castle cake. The two layer, mini cakes are a different story. They seem more than happy to customize the two layer mini, but not the mini castle cake. Lurkyloo can correct me, if I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be expecting purple icing on a mini castle cake. It would stink to get there & be disappointed.

Hmmm...I ordered a mini Castle cake. I thought that it would be two layers with a castle on top, but from your post, it sounds like it's just one layer. I guess I may need to call back tomorrow.

A picture of the mini castle cake is here.

The top layer is not big enough for a castle.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get similar cakes at Disneyland? I'm taking my oldest daughter for a Southern California Halloween birthday trip, and was hoping to spend the day of her birthday at Disneyland and have a Haunted Mansion cake, like some I've seen here, delivered at dinner. I have seen some custom cakes on the Disney site, but none with fondant and none as awesome as the Haunted Mansion cakes here.

Thank you so much for clearing up my misunderstanding about the castle mini vs. the 2-layer mini. Although I'm sure they are both great, I would have probably been disappointed to have the one-layer arrive at our table. We are 8 days out from delivery night. If I call tomorrow, it should still be ok to change to the mini wedding style, right?

I read that you have a little more freedom of choice with the 2-layer mini. What type of ideas do you have? I think I'll ask for a pink elegant cake with some fun dots/hidden Mickeys. It seems like the pictures I've seen have either flat tops or flowers on top. Does anyone have another cute idea for a 12-year birthday girl? Thanks so much! This thread has been so helpful!

They seem to steer you more toward buttercream cakes, but if you explain that you want a fancy, fondant-covered cake, they should eventually get the picture. From what I've seen, their prices for these are considerably higher than at Walt Disney World.

This post has some sample minicakes made by the GF bakery for last year's Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings Bridal Showcase. It would be easy enough to send them one of these pictures as inspiration if you found one you liked:

Thanks so much! I'll definitely be giving them a call. Price isn't really an issue, I missed her sweet 16, so I'm making up for it this birthday.
