Official DISNEY Cake Chatter Thread - Part II

So I would really like to order my boyfriend a happy anniversary cake to surprise him, either at one of our dinners our to our room.

My question is, can disney bakers (bakeries?) make this cake gluten free? My boyfriend has celiac disease, so he can't tolerate gluten. Can the cake be gluten free!? :confused3 If so, what gluten free flavors are available? Can these cakes still be decorated?

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer this!!

You may want to contact BabyCakes in DTD. They do vegan, gluten free stuff. I know they have cupcakes, but I don't know if they do full size cakes - hopefully someone else will be more helpful!

Has anyone either seen or ordered a cake combining Tinker Bell and Pirates? I'm thinking sort of a Pirate Princess Theme, but more like Pirate Pixie. I'd also like something in the bright colors, like the limes, purples, and pinks, but also with some pirate accents (maybe some pirate figurines or a treasure chest?)

Take a look at the cake in post 188 of this thread. I would give you a link but I am not allowed to do that yet. :)

White Chocolate Stitch Figure

Here are some shots of Disney's new white chocolate Stitch character, which costs $35 and tastes absolutely terrible (well, at least the one I had delivered to my room at the Grand Floridian did!). Still, it might make a cute cake topper...

I believe that they do full size cakes (they have them for order on their website atleast) I can attest that anything that's made at Babycakes is GOOD!

On the other hand, try calling Disney Dining and inquire about a gluten free cake. Remember Disney is one of the best places to go if someone in your party has any food allergy.

Maybe they are just trying to make the taste of the chocolate Stitch match the attraction?

Help! I just called Boardwalk Bakery and requested a special order cake to be delivered to Olivia's at OKW, and the person on the phone said I could pick it up, but that they don't deliver to any other resort. This is contrary to what has been posted. Can someone help me out . . . .do I call back and get someone different? Or is her information correct?

In order to get it delivered to Old Key West, you need to call Old Key West, not BoardWalk Bakery. They make cakes that are delivered all over WDW, but the arranging of delivery goes through the place where you need the cake delivered. :thumbsup2

This list of info and numbers is broken down by resort—find OKW and use that number: http://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/by-location/

How did you order that, and do they do different characters? It is so cute! I wouldn't eat it!

I just realized I pointed you to the wrong post in my previous comment. Anyway, if you look at the cake index on the first page of this thread there is a link to a cake described as Mickey Mouse Pirate and Tinkerbell Cake. That was the cake I wanted to point out.

Has anyone been able to order a caramel or a strawberry cake? Those are my DH's favorites...thanks!

This is a FANTASTIC thread! :thumbsup2

Ordered my anniversary cake last week for our stay next week! We'll celebrate our 10th anniversary next Thursday. It's a surprise for the hubby! I did a mini 2 tier and they're going to try to replicate my wedding cake. Can't wait!!!! I will be sure and post pics when we get home!

That looks great! I definitely think my DD would love that cake!

If I have the email address from when I ordered from last summer from CakeManBri do I need to call or can I just email him? Thnks

forgive me ahead of time if you run into this post more than once... but look what I'M planning!! I can't tell any of the fam - so i'm sharing with y'all!

I had a t-shirt design made for our upcoming July trip - we will be celebrating our anniversary - I believe Penny or Shadowriter made the t-shirt design...
then and I ran across a post/pic of a cake...

So for our anniversary dinner at Coral Reef July 17 -- I'm having the cake re-designed.. to MATCH the T-shirt design - we will be wearing these for our day... The cake will be blue w/ silver stars - mickey-wedding bands overlapping on the top of the cake - with a banner "Jeff and Tracy - 12 Magical Years"... The silver bow on the top will be gone.

My DH and kids know NOTHING!! Not even about the t-shirts!!!

I'm so excited!! Can't wait to see the cake!

Has anyone ever done a Chip n Dale cake? Any pictures? (I did not see any on the master list) DD11 LOVES them and we will be there for her birthday. She loves the splash mountain one, and I was thinking one that looked like that, but with chip and dale theme would be great!!

Price: $77
Date Received: 5/20/11
Location: Grand Floridian Garden Tea Room

That is so wonderful and is exactly how we are going to enjoy our cake for my dd's sweet sixteen in Sept! Thanks for posting this! :thumbsup2

We honeymooned at WDW & this started DH on all things Disney. We quietly celebrated our 25th inJune & this August trip is the first time down since then. I thought a small cake at CG, our favorite, would be a nice surprise. Should I go thru CG or order thru Boardwalk Bakery? I prefer good taste or great appearance. Thanks. SGG
