Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part V!

In the old days they would deliver it directly to the room at the Poly via Private Dining. I would call them back to clarify, though, because it may be front-desk pickup only right now. What a great surprise!
I just asked! The receipt says it's through Private Dining, so hoping it's just that. We're doing dinner at Boma at 5:30, so hoping the 7 PM delivery will work. May push it back to 7:30 just to be safe.

The process was really slick, though. The lady asked me for some theming ideas, and then when I told her she texted me some samples. The whole thing took 5 minutes and was really seamless. I had first mentioned a Splash Mountain cake, and they said it was doable, but difficult.

We called bell services to deliver the cake. It took two calls and over an hour. This was in Nov at Art of Animation. I would contact the person who you placed the order with to verify.

The Grand Floridian bakery did an amazing job with my husband’s birthday cake! My only request with the design was Scrooge since that’s what my husband had asked for, but they really ran with that idea and came up with a very cool looking cake! This is a 6” with fondant.

I’m sooo happy to see pictures of cakes again and this one is fantastic! Thank you for sharing!

What was the price?

Hi -- I've never ordered a cake before. Can I order a custom cake for my brother's 50th birthday for our dinner at Le Cellier on 3/14? I'm not 100% clear as to what the Epcot restaurants are doing right now. What is the best # to call? Thank you so much for any advice!

@MIinNJ Post #2 has the number to call for EPCOT, which provides cakes for Le Cellier. If they tell you they haven't resumed doing custom cakes, you can try calling the Grand Floridian (phone number is also in that post) to see if they will.

I know delivery seems to be on a “maybe, maybe not” basis these days, but I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting a cake delivered to the All Stars resort recently.

Thank you so much! I will report back what I find out/end up doing.

Spoke to Grand Floridian yesterday, was told they will not deliver a cake to Fort Wilderness which sucks immensely. I'm going to try calling Contemporary. The lady I spoke to said she could send it to a park other than magic kingdom. I said we are in HS the day I want to pick up the cake and the only dining reservation we have that day is Ogas cantina. She said she thought she could deliver to there. My issue is that I want the cake for my dd's bday the next day, I wanted to pick it up the night before her bday and have it for breakfast for her and the rest of the family. So if I pick it up at Oga's not only are we not eating it then but the surprise will be ruined and I will have to carry a cake around the rest of the day at HS. Not a good option.

Wow! That’s disappointing. When we carried the cake around (dining locations are not allowed to store it for you) it spoiled in just a couple of hours.

Are there any former cast members that can deliver? I tried looking up and I found one:

Erin McKenna does allergy friendly cakes and delivers on property

Another idea is asking if the Grand could deliver to your resort bell services? When you get back from the parks you could pick it up from them (they refrigerate it).

We did this on our last trip, but It took them a long time (1.5 hr; they delivered groceries forgot cake etc) and it was 12:30 am (the day after my birthday when they finally delivered).

@Disturbia the lady said they don't deliver to Fort Wilderness at all. She was a little weird though, if Contemporary isn't able to do it I will call again and see if I get a different answer from a different CM at GF. She stated "if you hear differently from someone else I am giving you the true response" I'm not sure exactly what she meant by that cause she was difficult to understand, but it leads me to think I will get a different answer from a different CM. Then she told me she was going on vacation and wouldn't be back until the 21st if I wanted to give her my decision then. so I'll definitely call back while she is gone and try to talk to someone else.

I don't really want to pay for delivery on top of the price of the cake but thanks for the suggestion. If I can't get the custom cake I want I'll just order one of those podium mousse cakes at our BOG dinner on her bday I guess.

At BOG they have a cupcake trio which comes out really nice with a candle (if you can’t get a custom cake). You can contact the special dessert team and need to add it at least 72 hrs in advance. We’ve had to box it and take it with us as we were always too full. They’ve changed one of the cupcakes and it does contain nuts now:

I emailed the special dessert team yesterday to get the Liberty Tree Tavern specialty dessert and they told me they are not offering it. They said Magic Kingdom restaurants are only offering the Mickey Mouse celebration cake.

It's a total bummer for us because we don't need a whole cake. My daughter and I love the regular Liberty Tree Tavern dessert, and we are already having the dessert party that night. So I just wanted something that was a little bit celebratory to sing to my husband...not a whole $39 cake that only one person will eat. :(

Do you know which celebration cake they were talking about? Is it the dome mousse cake or the one that is shaped like Mickey's face?

Just a suggestion but perhaps you could pick up a cupcake from the Main Street Bakery and carry it over to your meal at Liberty Tree Tavern, then tell a CM that you would like to borrow a candle to sing to your husband and I bet they would light it for you and let you sing to him.

"For restaurants within the Magic Kingdom, including Liberty Tree Tavern, we offer our Mickey Mouse celebration cake! This is available in decadent chocolate or sweet white chocolate and can include a special message of “Happy Birthday” or “Congratulations” on the chocolate ears—or you can leave them blank. Each cake serves 4-6 guests, and costs $39 plus tax and gratuity. "

I think that's the dome?

I think you are right, it looks like they are talking about the dome cake then. Thanks!!

@lurkeyloo this thread is too long to read every post lol, do you know if anyone has commented on the taste of these dome cakes? I think they look good and as there are only 4 of us I think this might be a better option than the custom cake just cause my dd that is having the bday isn't really a big regular cake fan. But if they taste terrible then I don't want to do it

I'm also wondering if they will serve these at a breakfast? We have a 10 am bfast at CRT and a 6 pm dinner at BOG the day of her bday and I'm thinking we will be less full at breakfast and since the dinner comes with dessert maybe I should do it in the morning.....
