The saga continues! Here is the inspiration cake I chose. Unfortunately, the chef can't do the ship or anchor so it will just be the skull and chest on an 8" cake (quoted $125 for this)

Still working on logistics, it took over a month and talking to four people at four locations to accomplish this.

are mini cakes limited to only mickey ears or flowers on top? I want to get a happy retirement cake for my mom so i was hoping for a teacher theme.
BTW it will be for dinner at GF 1900 park

I'm hoping to get a 6 inch custom almond cake with amaretto filling. It's a welcome to Disney/birthday cake and I would like to leave the design primarily up to the bakers. I just want buttercream, not fondant but would like it to be on the fancy/creative side. Would you suggest ordering from the contemporary to be delivered at chef mickey's or from the GF to be delivered to our room at the Poly?

That sounds about right. This was the cake we ordered with similar features but it's a 6 inch and was $120 + tax and gratuity. The process was much easier though from the sound of things. I was emailing the Contemporary bakery and they were pretty quick to respond and get a quote to me.

You must have to have 10 posts before being able to upload pictures because I just reached 10 and now it gives me the option to upload a file. The only problem is now it says "the uploaded file is too large for the server to process" so I can't post my Rowlf cake pictures. My pictures are on my computer as JPG files. I hate to bother everyone with these stupid questions, but how can I make them smaller so I can post them?

I resized the cake photo I had taken with my phone using Microsoft Paint and uploaded the smaller version. :)

View attachment 142211 View attachment 142209 Here are the Rowlf cake pictures I took on my phone. Fingers crossed it works!

The cake was chocolate and the filling was chocolate ganache and peanut butter frosting. It was buttercream icing with fondant details on the face and the ears were fondant with buttercream 'fur' details. It came out to $136 for the custom cake and it was well worth it. My boyfriend loved it and it was delicious! We had leftovers for the whole week!

Also forgot they made a small piano for the side of the cake too and piped on musical notes on the base.

Does anyone know if you can get a cake delivered in the morning? We'll be at AKV for dd's birthday. But once we hit the parks, we don't return back to the hotel room until late, when my kids are falling asleep. I think it would be fun to surprise her with a custom cake for breakfast.

I have a 10 inch round cake ordered from Yacht and Beach (will have to go pick up, since they don't deliver to my resort), almond cake, white buttercream icing, bavarian cream with fresh strawberry filling, and Jack Skellington design. The BASE rate quotes was $54, then after all the add-on's, it went up to $81. After taxes, and fees, I'm sitting at $100 :worried:..... Whenever I get back, I'll post a pic.

Now, LAST year on the exact same day, I ordered the same cake from same bakery, delivered to my resort, and only difference was the design (OH, and white cake, not almond). Lion King instead of Nightmare Before Christmas. It was GREAT cake. We LOVED it, and had some almost every day until gone! I only paid $65 for that one. NO idea why the massive difference in cost. Here is my pic of that.

You can order them for breakfast reservations so you should be able to have it in the morning... Did you want it at a breakfast or delivered to the room?

I'm betting this will be a MUCH more intricate design for the extra price.

We had a full day planned so had ours delivered to CBR as early as possible. They said 8-9 am was the earliest and it was delivered at 8:30. Not sure if you're wanting it delivered sooner than that though.

That Rowlf cake is amazing! So glad you wete persistent and uploaded the pics! Sunds like it was delicious, too! That's the flavor profile I'm thinking about for the cake I order for the husband in May...
