Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part IV! (2012-2016)

Thanks for all the ideas! I am going to order a mini cake next week and will post photos once we come back from our trip.

So, after all the research, my DS picks the standard Mickey Face cake for his graduation cake. Has anyone tasted this cake? It says it serves 10, we are only 5. Leftovers are fine, unless I get it at the park. I would really like to have it delivered to CSR. This is not one of the cakes they do, but I'm hoping for a exception. If not, the only other place we can get it that we booked is Coral Reef. Just don't feel like trashing half a cake. Am I missing an option?

Does anyone have a picture of what the white chocolate Minnie figure looks like? Painted version would be great...

I'm not sure how they could make an exception since their food service is not provided by Disney. Maybe someone in their food and beverage department could try to order one for you from BoardWalk and have it delivered to CSR? If you call BoardWalk Bakery directly, they will tell you they don't deliver.

From everything I've seen on this thread, the Mickey cake is very tasty and feeds way more than 10.

Does anyone know how big a cake has to be to put a 2d standing imagine on it? I'm looking at pics and some of the cakes look like 6inch but I can't be sure.

You can put a 2d standing image on a 6 inch cake. We had two 6 inch cakes on our trip last July and they both had a 2d standing image on them.

So, ordering the cake for Coral Reef is my best option. That's fine, just hate that we are going to waste so much cake, unless I want to carry it around for 9 hours!:rolleyes1

Awesome, thanks! I think I'm almost done with the design I want so I will be sending it in to see what they say. So excited!

I have a question on paying for cakes. We have ordered one for a dinner at Artist's Point. Does the cost just get added to the bill for dinner? If it does and we have a Table in Wonderland card, will the price be 20% less? Thanks!

So can I get a glass slipper dessert at the Polynesian, since GF services it?

Yes - you just need to call GF Private Dining to place the order, not the Poly.

Yes, it's added to the bill. You get the 20% discount, but they also automatically apply that 18% gratuity to the entire bill, including the cake. So the server will get an extra $18 in tip just for cutting your $100 cake.

Well I knew there is no winning at Disney, so I guess getting the 20% of is still better than nothing. Thanks.

Quick question. I tried to go back to the previous thread where list of cake pictures was located. But it seems like it is no longer available. Am I missing something? I'm looking for ideas for a cake for the end of the month! Thank you!

I think the new site may still be indexing and that's why you can't find the page. Hopefully it will reappear soon!

Our servers don't even cut our cakes. Each time they brought us a knife and plates and we did it at the table. Maybe I should insist they earn their extra tip next time, lol

Our server at the Yachtsman let us admire the cake and take pictures for as long as we wanted and then she offered to take it to the back and cut us all pieces. Then boxed up the cake and even got us a smaller box so my mom could keep the picture from the top. Which gladly made it home in one piece :goodvibes

We are busy planning our May trip to Disney. This will be our 3rd trip in a row to celebrate our daughter's birthday. She had an Ariel cake for her 3rd birthday and Frozen for her 4th birthday. Below are the cakes. This year for her 5th birthday she wants Tinkerbelle! They were both amazing - excited to see what they can do with Tink!

This one?

We had it delivered to our room at Kidani Village. It was very good, but very rich. We had chocolate cake and chocolate filling. We probably ate off of it 3 times and there were 4 of us.

Is there any way to order something other than a standard cake? Like a brownie, or carrot cake? We are going to be at WDW for my DH's birthday and I'd like to do something for him, but he doesn't really care for regular cake. Thanks!

Can you order a cake to be delivered to dinner at CRT or so you have to do the princess package for a cake there?
