How far in advance do u have to contact them for a custom cake???

It depends on how fancy a cake you want. At least 72 hours, but if its fancy or you are very specific, 3 weeks. For the four fancy cakes I have done, I called/ emailed 3 weeks ahead of time. For the "simple" Mickey pants cake, I called 1 week ahead.

What are the screen print options? I imagine that they may vary from location to location but is there a resource for all available?

Is the Zebra cake still available to order from AKL? It's no longer listed in the options on the first post.

I ordered one for our 25th anniversary dinner at Jiko, but that was 2 years ago. I would like to do the same this year but would like to make a "plan B", if necessary, before calling.

Thanks!

I don't know if they still make that cake, but it sure was delicious and I hope, for your sake, that you can still get it!

Can anyone tell me how large the mini castle cake is?? Thanks

It's small but plenty for 2 folks to share....I don't know how to post pictures.....if you private message me your email I'll be happy to send you a picture for reference of a mini castle cake we just got last month.

Thanks - I have seen pictures just could not figure out how large it is. I was looking for something for niece and there will be 4 of us. This sounds like it could be a little small.

No. The people you need to talk to do not work in "on-stage" places that you can just walk up to and order from (well, except BoardWalk Bakery) so you have to call whether you're in Orlando or Ottawa. Maybe it's all clear to me cuz I wrote two of those blogs, but... which part is overwhelming you? Maybe I can help!

For delivery to Akershus, you call the number for Epcot, which is in post #2 of this thread. Done! :goodvibes

There are just so many choices and then just when I "think" I have an idea of what I want...it's not available where I want it to be or it can't be delivered or something else random with the flavor or the frosting or whatever.

And if it's not something I can order by e-mail, honestly, I don't want to call. I don't talk to people on the phone. It's a thing for me. Job hazard I guess but seriously, calling to order makes me feel like crying because it seems complicated and I hate talking on the phone to people I don't know.

I think I'm just going to skip the cake...she's meeting the princesses, good enough. She won't know the difference. Maybe I'll looking into the Disney florist thing.

Lurky-- Finally got a computer, so I'm going to email you two cakes pictures...Is that ok?

Sure thing! And if you can let me know where you got them, what the flavors were, and how much they cost, it would be super-helpful to the followers of this thread!

No, unfortunately not. The individual resorts may have stock libraries they go to, but they are not publicly available. I think the best thing to do would be to find your own hi-res image online and send it to them.

Ah, yes.... that is frustrating! I kind of wish Disney would get a standard set of cakes available across all locations (besides those "podium cakes") but then maybe that would eliminate the option of all the customization you can get now.

You can order by email at the Magic Kingdom, if that helps. But I think you're right, she'll have so much other fun stuff going on at Akershus, she won't miss a cake. And if you change your mind at the last second, you can ask for an all-chocolate or all-vanilla podium cake when you check in!

Hi! I just called and confirmed that they are offering this cake again. It's $42 and serves 8-10. They need 48 hours' notice. I'll add it back into the first post!

Can you get a mini or small Mad Hatter Cake? I am thinking about ordering a cake in honor of my parents 36 3/4 Anniversary:rotfl2:

Yes, but it doesn't have that distinctive shape. It looks like this...

I found this first cake online and was hoping to send the image to the bakery at the Contemporary to have it made for my sons upcoming birthday...

But I found this image of Donald Duck as Darth Maul as well and since we're eating at Chef Mickeys I kinda was hoping it could be incorporated somewhere on the cake...

Do you think this is an odd request? I'm not sure how they would incorporate it, but I like them both and can't decide which I would rather have for him on his birthday. Should I just ask and see what they say? Or pick one and just send them one image? Any ideas how they could both be used together on the same cake? Thanks!image.

We are staying at the Grand Floridian in a few weeks for DH's birthday. Would it be strange to have an ADR at the Grand Floridian Cafe just for drinks and have the cake delivered there? We are eating dinner at the Food & Wine festival and I don't want the cake delivered to our room. Trying to find an alternative way to get DH's cake on his actual birthday.

In the past I heard that to get this cake, you must be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge - is this still true?

We really want to get a cake but would like to actually pick it up instead of having it delivered due to the high delivery fees.

Not strange, but they would probably let you pick it up from Gasparilla Grill, if you don't want to have to pay for drinks.

Well, none of the other resorts offer the Zebra cake as a standard option, but since they all offer custom cakes, I'm sure you could send them the picture and the description and they could make it for you. So BoardWalk Bakery is your easiest bet for picking up. But there are no delivery fees if you have the cake sent to a restaurant either.

Hello! There is sooo much great information on this thread! I want to Thank you! Also, I want to see if I have this correct....

I will want to order a fancy, fondant cake. We are staying at the Cabins. Contemporary Resort will make this cake? Do I email or call? The date that I would like to have the cake is Oct 3rd.

Also, we want to celebrate the birthday at the cabins so I would want to pick the cake up.. would it be at Trails End?

Thank you for helping me through this... :)

Thanks for all the wonderful information and great pictures.
Just ordered a mini two tear cake with a Frozen theme.
Having it delivered to Epcot's Garden Grill end of the month. Will post pictures as soon as I can.

I contacted disney in regards to a Star Wars themed cake and was told only in Disney studios

Does anyone happen to know where I can find a list of things available at Yacht Club? I am interested in chocolate covered strawberries for sure but would like to see what else is offered? Thanks :wave2:
