Really hope someone posts a episode recap. I only saw the first half hour. Company came, so set my DVR. They left, went to watch the end, and saw that I taped the wrong channel!

I only saw the last half hour. Not liking what I saw. I don't like this 5 year jump. Some things just don't make sense.

Like, I really doubt that Gabby would have an overweight child like that and that she'd wait that long to finally try to get it under control. We're talking about an ex-model.

And why are Susan & Mike never together? What's wrong in letting them be happy and unified for a change, the way Lynette & Tom are?

No he is not....seems she feels that the accident was her fault and he could not take her self guilt anymore and it tore there marriage apart.

Edies new DH is seeing a shrink for anger management or something like that and needs to check in with him every month....but it seems he is not a danger to himself but others. Would answer the question to why Edie does as he says. They did not get into to much about that yet.

This was not that of an exciting first show. Kind of a let down. Hope it gets better.

I have a lot of unresolved questions. I am sure some of them will be answered as the season progresses but still.

I kept telling dh that there is no way that Gabby's kids would be that overweight. I also don't believe that the child that plays her dd is only 4 years old IRL. And I want to know how Gabby managed to have a couple of kids so quickly when she was told she couldn't even have kids after her fall down the stairs.

Oh, and who is the actor that is playing Edie's dh? I know him but can't place him. What other show have I seen him?

Yeah, that child looked about 7 to me.

The actor playing Edie's DH is Neal McDonough. He was in Minority Report, with Tom Cruise. Also in the series, Boomtown and Traveler.

Thanks! After looking at that link and seeing everything he was in, I realized where I saw him most recently was in the movie, "I Know Who Killed Me," with Lindsay Lohan.

I'm one who also isn't sure if I like the whole five years in the future thing. Tonights episode was ok. The very end where the new guy says "only one person should be afraid of the anger' does have me really wondering who it is.

I'm thinking it might be Susan or Mike, whoever was driving the car the night of the accident. I think Edie's new husband could be the husband of the woman who was killed in the accident and he wants revenge. Or maybe not. You never know with that show.

I actually enjoyed the show.

I think they jumped 5 years in to the future so they could start some new more interesting storylines. On the daytime soaps they age those kids overnight - guess they don't do that for the primtimes.

I'm sure there will be a storyline with Danielle taking her baby back. The only storyline I found "off" was the Gabby one. She is so self-centered that there is no way she would have gained that much weight or have overweight children. The actress playing her daughter can not be 4 years. She speaks like an older child.

I did wonder where Lynette's other kids are too, although I'm sure they'll turn in juvenille detention or someplace similiar!!!

I'm looking forward to the season.

I agree with all of this. I really enjoyed the episode and am looking forward to seeing what happens....

Having spent time with my 4yo Dneice yesterday... who hid behind my mother and decided to be too shy to talk to me... and is much shorter than Gaby's DD... and speaks like a 4yo... not like Gaby's DD, I have to agree with you.

There is no way that girl is 4. Maybe the younger one is, but definitely not the one they claim to be.

I was wondering about Lynette's other children as well. I hope they will bring them in soon. Plus, I wonder what Kayla (the crazy stepchild) has been up to over the last 5 years. I imagine she is all grown up and just as wacky as her mother!

I liked the episode, it seems they did the 5 year fast forward because DH is all about secrets, and there really weren't any secrets anymore. So they had to create some. It will be interesting, though!

I am wondering if this season will just mostly be remembering the last 5 years that has gone by.... I guess that is the only way to explain about everything that is goign on in the show.

I don't like that he was the hot, gay man on Queer as Folk. He played that part so well that I just can't see him being with a woman. He belongs with Justin on that show and not with Susan on this show.

I don't think the child actress playing the old daughter of Gabbie is 4 either but I think that's a good thing and done on purpose by the producers. I think they hired an older child on purpose to get her to look older/chubbier when playing an overweight 4 year old and probably due to the material/storyline she has to do.

So far, I'm liking it but wish Susan was still with Mike.

I think you are probably right. I immediately thought of Mike -- but no idea why - I think this fits.
