*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

I don't suppose the cast member let you know where the dessert party would be located, did they? We had attended an Osbourne Lights dessert party, once. And though it my have seemed a little removed, you were still surrounded by the lights.

It is both indoors and outdoors at the Great Movie Ride entrance I believe.

currently on hold waiting to see if I can book JBJB party...I have a sinking feeling it's only open to book through 12/10 (based on hours showing on disney website) and I'm wasting an hour of my life. At least it's time wasted with fun music. I have my preferred date and two back ups ready.

I'm starting to question my sanity.

I think I annoyed my phone CM with questions!!

She said booking for dates past 12/10 could be released at any time and to keep checking, but most likely within the next two weeks.

So...not exactly specific.
I guess it's just time to go into full on stalker mode. The first week of December is already sold out, and so is 12/10.

I called for 12/16 too and while on hold realized that the show wasn't even on the schedule past 12/10 yet. It's crazy to me that that many are sold out already considering you can't book it online yet and I doubt many people other than disboard members have even tried calling to book.

I know! A lot of people on the thread I posted a link for are saying they've just called back when the CM told them it was sold out, and then they were able to book.

That's the bad part about booking something new early...it tends to get so crazy. On the other hand, if you don't book early, it's often too late!
I just keep telling myself, at least it's always worth the fuss in the end!

I think not. The dessert party starts at 5:45pm for a 6:45pm fireworks time. F! starts at 7:00pm and you have to get there early for a seat.
Aw man. So I'm going to have to choose between the 2. I only had 1 night at hs. Didn't really want to do 2!

Yes. I scheduled 2 evenings in HS just for this reason (assuming it would be the star wars fireworks, but I'm OK with this change).

HERE is a thread to follow the progress for the dessert party

Wow that thread is already 20 pages on day 1. It would be pretty crazy if the dessert party sold out so quickly. We decided not to do the Star Wars party but now the Christmas one has my interest peeked. Plus I suffer from FOMO.

I have 2 HS days. One is our arrival day which I booked a fantasmic dining package.

I'm trying to make a final decision.

MVMCP is on the top of my Mom's Disney wish list.

We arrive at 8:55am (need to be at the airport at 4am!!!) on the 13th.

I have a feeling the girls (niece's 1st trip...she is 5 and daughter is 8) will be super amped up to hit MK, but we have our MK day scheduled for the 14th.

I can't decide if we (or at least the girls!) should take long naps as soon as we can get into our room and hit MVMCP that first night, or wait until the 15th, which is the night before we leave (10:25PM flght that Friday night)

I don't want to push it, but I'm not sure HS has enough "wow" for the girls for a first day/evening at Disney....

Any thoughts?

So we had planned MK for our first day when we were set to arrive on Matthew Thursday. Now that we're going in December we're heading straight to HS! I was worried it wouldn't be fun for our 5 and 7-yos, but it works best with our schedule. They also announced new holiday fireworks today so we're going to be there for that our first night and surely that will have a wow factor. Did you check the HS schedule for your first night?

I don't think going to the party your last night is a bad idea either. It's a cool way to end your trip!!

Today was fast pass day and got every thing I wanted! We also let our son open his "secret"! I didn't get a video (phone was dead!) but it was neat to see his face when we read the top part of the tickets for our MVMCP! What was even better was when he realized it was for this year and not for the family trip next year! His sisters were excited for him and they are excited to stay home with dad by themselves for the week! I love my kids and their excitement for each other! We also decided to upgrade our stay to CBR instead of ASSports. Super excited for this and can't wait to go! 60 days!

Really annoyed that you have to plan everything out to a T months in advance only to have Disney change the park hours! My now coveted BOG breakfast is now worthless. So disappointed!

I also tried to book for a date that they've not yet released yesterday and the CM I spoke with told me that this show would be 1 hour before Fantasmic...but who knows....

Trying to get my touring plans together now that I have my FP+ but I am confused by Pete's Silly Sideshow. Is this a meet and greet or is there a show as well? What is the difference between "Daring Disney Pals" and "Magnifique Disney Friends" which are listed separately on touring plans site?

It's a meet and greet. Goofy and Donald are on one side, and Minnie and Daisy are on the other. It's two separate lines. Daring side is Donald/Goofy, Magnifique side is Minnie and Daisy.

We like to book 8am breakfasts, but morning hours fluctuate so much in the summer when we travel, that it's just not something you can count on as a benefit. Holiday hours are often extended as well. It's because of crowd levels.

I know it's frustrating, it's nice to get a few quieter moments in the park early in the morning. If you were only doing it to try to get to rides early, think of it as a money saver! If MK has extended morning hours, you will have some GREAT touring first thing. If you still want to have BOG breakfast, try rebooking for 9:30 or 10. That way, you get your early morning touring time, and then a nice break for some food when the crowds start building up later in the morning. FPs can be scheduled afterward, making for a stress free morning with low wait times until around 1 or 2pm (if you start your FPs around 10/10:30ish).

But that's just me being in Mary Sunshine mode tonight! I've been in your shoes, and it's a pain, but it always ended up working out to our benefit in the end.
