Now that everything is paid for it is official, we are going 12/25-1/1 our first time at AKL. The kids don't know, and if all goes as planned they will be completely surprised when we wake them up at 5am Christmas morning to open presents. Hopefully when they open the magic bands it will click, because we will have to get dressed and get to the airport!

I'm coming from Cali too!!...arriving 12/18. Have you tried renting DVC points? You get deluxe villas at a moderate price. Sometimes you can get last minute ressies at SSR. Try Dave's Vacation Club Rentals or DVC Rental Store.

Apparently I am about 14 months late to the thread. Thankfully, I know enough that I have been planning since at least that long ago (actually since we returned from our last trip in May of 2015). We, DW, DD(6), DD(4) and myself will be staying at BLT Dec 10-17. ADRs are booked, FP+ booked, touring plans and schedules are made for the most part.

What remains to be done is this:
1. Pick a night to do the "sleigh" ride at fort wilderness. Originally this was going to be on our DHS day, but the addition of JBJB has created a conflict (Yay for Disney adding experiences)
2. Decide whether the newly announced Christmas Tree trail at Disney Springs is worth giving up our evening on the boardwalk to see.
3. Finalize my AK day. Like others on the thread I have been waiting (not so patiently) for the change in park hours and official word and reviews of RoL before locking in my AK schedule.

For those of you waiting with me, some reliable looking evidence over in the Rumor and News board yesterday and today points to a soft open of RoL TONIGHT! We shall see. Hopefully, if true that will speed along the hour extensions and schedule announcements.

You may want to consider doing the wagon ride instead of the sleigh ride. The price of the wagon ride is $8 cash for adults and $5 for kids.

I have an update to my travel plans!! Coming a day early and staying at the Poly so I now look like this: 12/9 Poly +DS, 12/10-12/15 CSR +DS, Mom, Dad, Sister, Sister's GF, 12/11 MVMCP +DS
Staying at the Poly has always been a dream, so I am super excited even if it is just one night!

My son and I are coming in a day earlier than the rest of the family (12/16) and we are going to MVMCP that night

Does anybody know if it is easy to find 2017 calendars anywhere at WDW? One of our traditions is that we always get the kids new calendars for Christmas and I just need to know if I will have luck finding some there or if I need to buy some before we go.
