*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

30+ days?!?! I'm jealous!!! How does one pull off such a long vacay?

Lots and lots of boring work haha.
Not living in America makes it hard to feed the addiction.
We went last year to Disneyland and it was all over before it started.
Travelling so far from Melbourne Australia we thought we might as well make the most of it this time.
Its 46 days all up. Spending a week at Universal then the rest disney.
Will check out Orlando, oh and getting Married in Kissimmee ...:)

Now that's an epic honeymoon! Still daydreaming about it. lol Have a fabulous time and congrats, mate! :)

I like how you threw the getting married part in the end there. lol You have an exciting 46 days!

We're doing 2 days at HS so I guess I'll have to plan the Star Wars fireworks for the 2nd night. That makes me want to book the Star Wars dessert party to make sure we get a good viewing area and to make sure we go. Hmmm Do these dessert parties usually sell out? I guess I could book and cancel later.

The Wishes dessert party always sells out pretty fast, which is why I'm stalking the Star Wars one...Not sure if it sells out as fast, but it includes alcohol, so I'll bet it does, LOL!!

First page updated again!! We're almost to the one year anniversary of the thread...it has gone by so quickly! I feel like I've wished my year away! We're going to TRY and take a WDW break after this trip for a couple years and go other places, but I don't think I'll know what to do with myself without having an upcoming trip to plan!

Do you usually go once a year? I'm wondering if this trip goes well if we'd go back soon. My inlaws love the Disney cruises & dh talks about taking one in the future. I'm hesitant because I get really sea sick. I know it's not supposed to be bad on big cruise ships but I'm afraid to test it out.

Not every year, but December's trip will be our third WDW trip in two years, plus Disneyland in June. My husband just likes how easy WDW is. Well, easy for him, he just shows up and goes with the daily flow, LOL!! Super cliche, but it really is our happy place. It's so removed from the real world, and every few days one of us says, "i wish we were at Disney World." Last week we were even trying to find a way to make a quickie trip down there this weekend or next, just to get a fix!

I'm scared of cruising because I have no idea how I'll do with the sea sickness aspect. I handled the whale tour boat we did in California, but my youngest got sick, even with meds. I know that's not a good measure compared to a big ship, but it makes me nervous!

We have been talking about doing an Alaska cruise on Royal Caribbean...I really *want* to do it, but I don't want us to be sick and miserable when we should be having the time of our lives.

Since it is just me and my 9 year old we are just leaning toward one of the all stars. Pop is showing no availability at all and since it is my son he wouldn't be interested in the LM rooms at AOA. There seems to be a lot Our first trip we did a family suite at ASMu and was surprised how nice is was being a "value". Although just getting back from BWV for a week it may be hard to go back to values! But it's ok, I have booked is a trip to the Contemporary as a family the week after Thanksgiving 2017!

I'd sleep in a tent to be able to go to Disney! lol What an awesome surprise this will be for your son--so exciting. Hope you 2 have an unforgettable trip!!

In May I was able to see Fantasmic! at 9pm and the old Symphony in the Stars at 9:45pm. There seemed to have been plenty of time for us to finish Fatasmic! without leaving early, and walk to find a decent spot without any danger. Now this was the temporary, extended show that was in a different area and the park was open later so I guess factoring those other variables in, it may not work as well. I would not have been able to have seen both in May if the times overlapped.

I'm 100% ready to know all official dates/times of everything!! Would make planning a far simpler process with the guesswork removed from the equation. :) I did read somewhere on here that F! and IllumiNations is possible to see back to back, and how cool is that?! Something about a 20 minute walk? Digging out notes and maps right now...

@Talby
That's going to be my attempt on Tuesday December 6th. Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic dinner package and then walk, bus or uber (boat seems to take a little too long) to Epcot for illuminations. I'm hoping someone that's done it can give a report. Maybe there's a thread somewhere.

I have the same intentions as well! :)

What a night that will be. :) It's a great idea, definitely.

@Karla07559 I know I've seen a thread on it somewhere. If I can find it again, I'll let you know so that you can take a peek.

After illuminations- look across the lake and you'll see Star Wars fireworks going off at HS also.

Date change - we are now December 21-27. Because we might be crazy!! All of my ADRs were booked for the original trip so I'm going to be stalking for the next 132 days lol. We will be at Ohana Christmas morning and doing Wishes dessert party (the garden view one) on Christmas eve...and the kids have no idea they're going...oh the countdown!!

Quick question: how do al of you make your touring plans now? It seems like the park times are not up to date. This will be our 3rd time to go over Christmas (so excited!) and I remember much early openings and much later closings than what is currently posted. And two MSEP and Wishes, etc.

Any idea when they will update the times? I want to start planning!

Discounts came out this morning, so I went ahead and finished out booking. We are set at ASSports for our trip. I went with standard room since it is just my son and I and we don't mind walking. Saved $15 per night which doesn't seem like much but anything is better than nothing! Excited to go! Now I just need to keep the secret until we are ready to leave!

Doing my daily check for the Star Wars Dessert party...as of right now, EVERY day is grayed out (even dates that were previously open) and it says "no times available". I'm going to keep checking off and on today in case this is a sign of an update and extended date release. I'll post again if anything changes!

Ugh. Ok, an update already...I refreshed the page right after my last post and it is back to normal, still dates thru the 24th of Sept. Boo! I'm still clinging to hope I stumbled upon some kind of glitchy thing that means new dates are coming soon
