*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

That sounds fantastic! and the fact that it's only 1 TS credit on DDP makes it even better! Plus that restaurant actually has food my DD will eat (picky eater!)
Want to hear something horrible? I DIDN'T KNOW that it could be included in the DDP. I paid oop :( I also didn't realize that QS credits could be used for adult meals for my son, and we ordered quite a few, all of which I paid oop :( :( After returning then someone told me on here that I didn't have to do any of that. LESSON LEARNED!
This year I am wiser :) lol

Yup! And now you can use the knowledge this time around :)
We are planning to swap out a lot of deserts with the DDP for an extra side or snack item for DD, switch 1 QS credit for 3 snacks, and/or order 2 adult CS meals to share with the three of us, or a combo of those things (really, DH and I can split a dessert). then we will also have a shipment from Garden Grocer for healthy snacks in the park to pack in our soft sided cooler (DD likes raw veggies and fruit, which I am not complaining about!) I find that if your kids don't eat the typical kids foods (like hamburgers and chicken nuggets) it's not worth ordering a kids QS meal. My DD would really only eat pizza, so this strategy will work for us. From what I'm told the adult portions are pretty big too so splitting between the three of us should not be a big deal.

Good morning,
Well DD has stated very adamantly that she does NOT want to go to AK. Which is fine with me - it's the park I'm the least interested in (I really only wanted to go for Tusker House). So we're playing with our schedule. Days can flip flop based on availability of the Pirate adventure cruise and EMH:

So with an extra half day freed up in the schedule, would you choose to spend at Epcot, MK, or HS? We're already planning 2 full days + MVMCP at MK and had 1 1/2 days planned at Epcot. That's why I'm thinking we add the extra half day back to Epcot. I think HS can be done in one day if we go for rope drop?
You can do everything at HD in a day easily. The latest times for F! Dinner depends on the time F! starts, the last meal time is usually about 2.5 hrs before the start.
I would spend the extra 1/2 day at EPCOT I believe your daughter would love the different Christmastyles storytellers around the countries. You might want to checkout the list of new activities at AK, it almost sounds like a new park. Plus don'the forget shopping time at Disney Springs and there activities.

How has it taken me so long to find this thread - I love a good official/planning/check-in thread!

We are staying at Wilderness Lodge from 30th November - 10th December. We then go on a 7 night Western Carribean cruise on the Fantasy.

It is our 1st wedding anniversary trip after getting engaged in Magic Kingdom in October 2014. We went to Disneyland and Aulani for our honeymoon in December 2015.

Look forward to chatting with you all - happy planning!

Can I join? hehe

We used the Disney Dining Promotion and are staying at CSR from 12/21-1/1. We just got back from Disney world 2 weeks and heck why not go again.

Stay Disney!!

So we're playing with our schedule. Days can flip flop based on availability of the Pirate adventure cruise and EMH:

Dec 2 - Arrival day, dinner Boardwalk pizza window
Dec 3 - HS rope drop for Jedi training sign up, TSMM, other rides and shows, lunch at 50s prime time, go back to hotel, dinner at Mama Melrose (Fantasmic) and hopefully star wars fireworks (can you do both?)
Dec 4 - Pirate Adventure cruise for DD from Yacht club, late start to Epcot to do "less popular" attractions. Possibly Behind the Seeds tour at The Land which my daughter is very interested in. Illuminations. Trying to decide where to eat...maybe dinner at Garden Grill and lunch at Sunshine Seasons?
Dec 5 - Epcot (International showcase) - Akershus PPO breakfast, Frozen stuff, lunch at Katsura Grill, break, dinner at ? was thinking Liberty Inn
Dec 6 - Epcot/MVMCP (Future world) - Cape May breakfast, RD, Lunch at Sunshine Seasons, break back to hotel, head to MK for MVCP, dinner at Pinnochio Haus (quick meal so we don't miss too much!)
Dec 7 - MK day 1 - 7:30am Ohana breakfast so we can make it to RD, BOG lunch, break, Columbia Harbour House dinner
Dec 8 - MK day 2 - Breakfast in room, RD, Lunch at Cosmic Rays, Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
Dec 9 - departure day (early morning)

So with an extra half day freed up in the schedule, would you choose to spend at Epcot, MK, or HS? We're already planning 2 full days + MVMCP at MK and had 1 1/2 days planned at Epcot. Oh, I'm sad you're not going to AK, it rivals MK for our favorite park. There is nothing themed so well in Disney (I say that with the option to say Cars Land once I go to DCA in June).

I would take that half day and go look at all the holiday decorations around the various resorts, honestly.

Whatever you choose, you'll have an amazing time!

Hi! Just joining in on this thread! We are going 12/10-12/16, staying at ASMu with FD :yay: It will also be DS(5) and DD(13)'s first time AND we will be celebrating their birthdays! I'm super excited! Oh and we are planning on keeping it a secret fr the kids until the day we leave, which is proving to be incredibly hard, I'm about to burst!

Welcome to the thread!!

I always admire secret keepers...I could never do it!! It's rare around here that anyone makes it to the actual day of an birthday/holiday/anniversary/whatever without receiving their gift from me early because I just can't stand waiting, LOL!! I'll add your dates to the travelers log.

Happy to have you along for the December ride!

Thanks! I usually can't keep a secret either so this will definitely be a challenge! Hopefully I can make it! Good thing that I have DH to reign me in if needed :rotfl:

Congrats on the anniversary!!!! We will be on the Fantasy Western Caribbean from 11/26-12/3 and then at the Contemporary from 12/3-12/7!!! This will be our first time on DCL. The WDW portion is going to be an early present from Santa..he will receive it our last morning on the ship. I can't wait!!!

Yep! It's a great use of it too! Now if I could only quit Sci Fi or 50s Prime Time. Oh well, I guess I just have to stand in line for the hour or use a fastpass

<3 Sci-Fi!
are all the three restaurants offered for F! at just one table service credit?

The Brown Derby is 2 credits. I'm not sure about Hollywood & Vine now that Minnie is there

Oh you just wrecked my day ;)
I wasted so much money last time not realizing that I could have used a credit instead of oop...this time I was excited- but you may be right about that.

For some silly reason I thought we were talking about Mama Melrose. I think because I just want to eat there. Whoops

Do you think it will be too much to eat lunch at mama Melrose and dinner at 50s prime time?
