****Official December 2011 Thread****

Just hit the 200 day mark on Friday. So excited! ADRs in 2 weeks. Then it's 6 months of more patient waiting :(

I hear you there, although I think in our case it'll go by fairly quickly especially once school starts up again (at least I hope so!)

I've been really busy with end of the year school stuff, baseball season, kid's doctor appts.
I get to make our ADRs on the 13th & I am excited, it'll really feel real to me then! I hate to wish my summer vacation away but can't wait for school to go back in the fall, lol. Once school starts, Dec. always seems to come fast!

Ok, I need to join in here, I recognize a few screen names from last Dec. Just hoping this Dec trip doesn't turn into last Dec trip.

Currently, we are booked for 7 nights at Shades of Green, Dec 19-26, but I am hoping to do a split stay with 4 nights at Pop and 3 nights at SoG. We will be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary, so I hope this goes off without a hitch.

I already have all my TS locations picked out and I think I can book them beginning on June 22. I have a rough idea of the days, but can be flexible if necessary, except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I pretty much don't want to change those. I really don't think the average person books as far ahead as the Disers...lol

We plan on purchasing 2 of the 4 day Hopper Armed Forces Salute tickets and 2 with 4 day Hopper and WPF&M. We have 6 or 7 days in the parks and possibly if warm enough, one water park day and DH wants to go to Disney Quest, maybe on our Animal Kingdom day, since it appears to close at 6pm every evening our week.

I have already booked and paid for our trip for December 1-7. I also have all my ADR's set and got everything I wanted :) So excited as this is our first trip and we will be there for my DD's 5th birthday!

I do keep hoping for a PIN that will give us free dining or more $$ off the hotel? Any chances of that for Dec 1-7?

I think chances are good that their current special offers (free dining and room discount) will be extended through the end of the year. It would follow their customary approach in years past.

But, if that is Pop Warner week, the specials aren't likely to be available that week, as far as I know that has been a blackout week.

Yes, it looks like Pop Warner is December 3-10 this year, which means any blackout dates would probably start on the 2nd (and last through the 8th). As long as they can check-in before the blackout period starts, they're good to go. Here's hoping December 1st will be part of upcoming special offers!

ADRs made... I am so excited! I got everything we wanted for us. And DH and I have decided we want to go to MVMCP one night, just us. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

It's starting to feel real!! I just sent my ADR requests to my DU agent as my 180-day mark is here!!! YAY!!!! :dance3::dance3:

I hope so! So if are first date is before the blackout then our entire trip will be under the discount? I wondered that since so many trips would have to overlap the time periods that deals are offered.

Yes, generally you just have to check-in before any blackout dates start, and your entire vacation will be covered under the promotion. Current special offers for early Fall expire in mid-late August. So keep your eye out around that time for new offers to be rolled out!

Yes, that is correct. I'll give an example, our Dec 2010 trip started on the last day of the free dining promo, but I was able to get it for the entire trip.

Uggg. I am so impatient to make reservations. One week and a day left until I can make them for the wdw portion of our Christmas vacation.

Got our ADRs for Cali Grill and Rose & Crown. Got our reservation for Segway Around the World.

Tried to get Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's. They reserved the Queen Victoria room for us instead. I wrote back and told them to cancel the QVR reservation and keep an eye out for a Chef's Table cancellation. Told them in no uncertain terms that if it wasn't the Chef's Table we were not interested in V&A, and that I was not paying the same price as the Chef's Table for the QVR and its lesser experience.

The upsetting thing is this is our 20th anniversary trip, since our 20th anniversary next week is going to be spent at the Rainforest Cafe in Seattle having a birthday party for our nephew and niece. Our first trip without a bunch of friends or family around in a while. Chef's Table was the *only* part of the trip that requires reservations that we were looking forward to. The rest is immaterial. I'm actually a little angry right now, to be honest. I know it's irrational, but I am. I'm tempted to cancel all ADRs and just do walk-in. We've never had a problem with walk-in. That way I don't have to conform to any kind of schedule except for an 8:30 Segway tour and MVMCP.
