So excited...down to 35 days!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now it feels like it is going to fly by, especially with planning Thanksgiving, etc in the next few weeks.

Whomever posted the blinky light website...THANK YOU!!! There will be 5 kids with us, so it will be a lot cheaper to order those than pay $15+ on site!

I am just hoping for some 60 degree weather in December! Last year it was in the 30-40's while we were there...brrrrr...even though we are from Chicago!

Well DH got fired yesterday morning, but good news is he was able to get another job by yesterday afternoon and he starts Monday. I don't know yet if we will still be able to go on our trip or not, that will depend on exactly where he is placed.

We have a room only at Pop for now and can wait until much closer to cancel, just hope won't have to. Even if we are able to only for for a few days, that is better than nothing and we can always go back in the future.

Been reading for weeks & this is my very first post!! DH and I will be at CSR 12/4 - 12/10. DS21 will be joining 12/7. This is to celebrate DS fulfilling is childhood dream and has become a paramedic with the Fire Dept. He's so excited and we are celebrating with him. It's our 2nd trip this year, DH and I were there in May for our 25th anniversary. Had such a great time we couldn't wait to get back and found a lovely "excuse" for another trip. Funny - we hadn't been since DS's 5th birthday - so 16 years ago. I can't imagine why we waited so long. As soon as this one is over I'll be looking for a reason to go back. DIS has provided so much info, we would not have had so much great stuff lined up without all the advice and tips. Thanks to all who contribute. I'll have my green Mickey heads - look for us...:

Does anyone else ship things down ahead of time?

Last trip we did, and it was nice to have extra things like snacks, bottle waters, etc. This time, we have a baby, so diapers and wipes will certainly be going down ahead of time. We also sent Pop Tarts and instant Oatmeal (used the coffee maker to make hot water) so that we didn't have to use too many meal credits on breakfast and my kids are early risers so I knew the would want to eat before most of our ADRs anyway.

Anyway, if you do ship ahead, what do you send?

We shipped a large box down last year at the Wilderness Lodge in early December- it had our little christmas tree, decorations, snacks and diapers/wipes. We also did an order with gardengrocer too and loved it. It was waiting for us (WL refrigerated our items) and the bell services brought it up for us on a cart. so easy and while we had a rental car, we didn't want to waste time going to the grocery store when we could be doing something fun. Who wants to shop for groceries on vacation? not me. shop for other stuff, sure, not groceries. I already have an order started for this trip on gardengrocer too! I have heard great things about wegoshop as well.

we had no problems shipping to the WL. we shipped ground UPS. No charge by the hotel either.

Just be aware Disney is now charging a fee to have packages delivered to the hotel; I believe I was told it was around $25 maybe someone can confirm this.

Where did you read this? Last year we were not charged and i just read the other day, (wish i had bookmarked the site) that only a small number of the disney resorts charge a fee- and it is only those resorts that have an outside contractor to manage the business center (IKON)- these are mostly the convention hotels- like Contemporary, Coronado Springs, GF etc. I wish i still had the site, it had the whole list and even what the prices were (I was looking since we are shipping to CR and it was like $10 for our size package I think). The value and mods i don't think charge a fee at all (other than CSR). i have not heard of this changing recently.

I just got off the phone with Disney, and there is no charge to have a package sent to yourself at the resort. Same process as I have done in the past, name and confirmation # on the package with the resort's address.

I think I called so many times trying to get the ADRs for the Fantasmic package the way I want them that I should add them to my friends and family list from Verizon

I just had to come on and post that we have now paid in full! We do have a scooter rental lined up for DH who has been going through several health issues the past 4 months but we have doctor's approval for making the trip. We don't do the roller coasters anyway so we won't miss that not being allowed for him. Now I'll just have to see if I can keep up with him on his scooter!

Thank you all, it was really shocking, his boss is a real jerk and has pulled crap like this before, but has never fired him. It truly was for the best, he really needed to get out of there awhile ago. I was really surprised he got something so fast, but over joyed.

While the unemployment rate is 10% here, there really are alot of jobs available. Some require specific experience, but most do not. He got hired through a temp agency, but they said they had more than enough work to keep him busy and he may end up at Lance (yes, as in the snack company) and that has been temp to hire.

I will be happy even if we have to cut off a few nights, I am just not ready to be home for Christmas.

We went to Disney last December and, by January, the company my husband worked for folded and he lost his job. Thankfully, he was able to get a new job within a week. Even so, it's been a rough year, but we are so blessed to be able to go to Disney again this Christmas! With mid-December being a value season and their free dining promotion, it makes it so affordable!

Yes, it is very flexible and since we are only about 6 hours away, even a long weekend isn't out of the question. We are booked for 5 nights over Christmas week, the most expensive time, but we have a great deal. Money wasn't a problem. It will be getting time off that may be a problem.
